Hey fellows. New to the deck, not mtg. I finally finished putting it together, and took it to a local legacy event this Friday night. Here's my list for reference:
Right before the tourney, I really wanted to try the Restoration Angel being discussed, so I hastily swapped out 1 Mirran Crusader for it. Not sure if this was the right call, but I went with it. The Angel was nothing but awesome every time I drew it, for what its worth. I've practiced, but this was my first actual run of the list, and my matches went as followed.
R1: 0-2 Against UR delver
R2: 2-0 Against Mono Black
R3: 2-0 Against UR Painter
R4 2-1 Against Shardless Bug
Semi: 2-0 Against Storm (TES maybe?)
Finals 2-1 Against UR delver
Ending the night in 1st, not too shabby. I definitely made a good amount of errors, mainly from trying to play too fast and missing triggers and other obvious lines of play, but overall the deck was super fun and I look forward to learning it in and out. If anyone cares for more detail on my matches id be glad to elaborate.
The flavor, art and ability of this card really pique my interests. With similar restrictive tutors, like Birthing Pod and Wild Pair, it's pretty clear how to cater your deck to them. Do I have to run bad cards to find better cards? Do I search gatherer for every cmc tier in my color for things to chain? I'm kinda at a loss on how to tackle this.
I was looking card prices and It seems like a lot of cards have exploded over the last year. How come? I just looked at gamble. I remember that was a $10 card for the longest time and apparently it spiked up to $22 right at the time of born of the gods. I kinda wish Wizards would make a reprint product of commander staples that are $10-$20+.
Rare from a valued set, and it started seeing play in Legacy lands decks.
Just finished a round of laser tag with my sons' friends.
Apparently I was supposed to be supervising and not kickin the ever loving ***** out of 5-8 year olds. My bad.
I had a similar idea, and this is what I've come up with. Its still missing 5 or so cards, but it may help.
EDIT: It started out more Volrton-ish, but I added in lots of "When things die" effects to get maximum value out of her snakes, and now its more about waiting for the opportune time to pump Pharika up and wreck face. You'll never really be using your snakes on yourself unless you absolutely need it; the idea is to give them to opponents when you need a mutual threat destroyed, but still ensure that it benefits you more than anyone else. There are several ways to kill all of the snakes if they start working against you; various wraths, well-timed Doomwake, Massacre Wurm at any time, Engineered Plague. I tried a constellation deck with her and it just didn't work. You would be 100% better off just recurring your dead stuff than trading them for slightly better than average chump blockers and some sparse triggers that quickly become irrelevant once you have no cards left. I don't have Blood Artist or it's weaker alternative in because they generate lots of hate really fast.
Interesting list, i'll probably use a few of the enchantments, namely the seals.
So with Pharika's debut, I set out brewing. I wanted to make an enchantment based deck, that uses the new constellation mechanic along with the old school enchantress creatures to generate value and grind out wins. Right now, I have the following:
What about Riptide Laboratory? You have a fair amount of wizards to abuse with it.

Good one, Dad.

Yup! Already have Erebos, Necro, and Arena. Probably will pass on Greed for now.
-Voltron out with Pharika and a few choice auras. (Namely Ancestral Mask/Rancor)
-Bleed out my opponents with stuff like Baneful Omen, Hecatomb/Urborg, and Primal Order.
-Support enchantments like Into the Wilds, Primeval Bounty, Oath of the Ancient Wood, Abundance/Sylvan Library and Pernicious Deed.
-Hate enchantments such as Titania's Song, Lethal Vapors, The Abyss, and Nether Void.
So, given the above information, does anyone have any suggestions that fit into the categories, or anything else in general? Any input is appreciated.
Thanks!
Snap, venser, trinket mage, huser, reset glen's persist.
Also saves Teferi/Prophet from exile/destroy effects, and can be used in combat tricks.
