Hello! My name is Owen and I live in NYC. I've been playing magic the gathering since I was 7 years old, which was around the time of 4th Edition. I took a number of breaks from the game, but recently got back into it right before Lorywn was released. I play MtG because of the challenge it presents when constructing unique and oddball decks and in Limited and tournament environments against other determined individuals (oh, and because it's a lot of fun!):cool2:

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to develop this great alternative deck into something that has caught many eyes. I was brewing up my own batch when I scoured online for anyone else doing so. Lo and behold I have joined this website to contribute towards glorious ingenuity! My deck retains the hard lock combo of Knowledge Pool and Curse of Exhaustion, but I took things a different, maldubious, direction: Heretic's Punishment. Allow me to introduce to you:
So what does this pile of crap cards intend to do? I pondered, what's a good way to ensure I can kill my opponents after stalling them in the long drawn out games? With this enchantment online, your library that is already chock full of expensive cards becomes a catapult! Stall with board sweepers, dignitaries, and o-rings until the lock comes online and the punishment finishes. Archangel's Light is a great card for regaining life after activating Heretic's Punishment a bunch of times and as a target for it! Chalice of Life is another win condition, especially after the Light has been played or after ramping with Pristine Talisman. Karn Liberated is another target for Punishment, but also is very important in regards to surviving and controlling the game. Oh, and one extra point, Omen Machine is another wonky card that works in evil ways with the hard lock! Sideboarding is tricky; I included some high CC spells to switch out if Blasphemous Act doesn't work out, such as Alpha Brawl and Phyrexian Rebirth, and a few extra critters to swing with an errant Elbrus, the Binding Blade. Artifact and enchantment removal is useful for opposing o-rings and pesky swords. I hope this deck intrigues any one out there that might not want to play purely U/W control, as W/R junk cards is a fun way to blind-side win a couple of games at your FNM!:cool2:
