They could save a lot on Maro's salary... though that's off topic since this is purely Marketing. I'd bet marketing is full of people just promoted from within, not a degree or experience outside to be found. Just speculation based on their actions.
I personally believe hasbro is milking WotC for higher and higher profit margins at the cost of all of us. MTG is one of their highest profit properties, and its carrying all their other bullsht that hasbro just needs to drop.
Why are the rare from the furthest out block though? They won't even connect well with the boosters you getting in the box. Why aren't they from the sets immediately prior to the new recent one? Why not have Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation rares since they'll fit with what you get in the box?
Flash forward to next years gift box...get an Ixalan, Dominaria and fall2018 set boosters only to have Amonkhet and Hour of Devastation rares?
Does anyone else see how dumb that is?! Most of those boosters will be off shelves or so minimal that new players interested in such cards might not know how to get more.
Right now most Shadows over Innistrad & Eldritch Moon booster are minimal on shelves and its not even the end of the year yet.
If they put good rares from a set that still has boosters on the shelf then those boosters wont get bought as much. With the cost cutting going through wizards right now Im not surprised.
If you cant tell I think the mod team around here is junk, and Ill say how I feel in public view about the mods. Most of this forum is dead, general and the rumor mill seem to be the only places that get viewed. There are a total of 16 threads that have been active this year at all in this section. Thats 7 months, so about 2 posts a month. 3 of the posts are the same dude. Don't act like this was moved here to get eyes on it. It was moved to put it out of the main view of the site. Getting kicked out of Origins is not a cheap **** up either. Two days of sales missed out on, Im sure theres no rebate for the money they put down on it, I would even bet they got charged the 500$ fine for leaving early.
This is why this place is so dead. This is a legit concern about an MTG vendor. Selling bootleg copies of anything leads down the moral road of how long til they buy some chinese bootlegs over off the bootlegmtg reddit and send them out randomly.

Figured some people might like to know that LegitMTG seems to not be so legit. Thats an expensive booth to get yourself kicked out of, blatantly selling bootlegs two booths down from the creators doesn't seem to have been a good idea.
Sounds like youre in an area of scummy judges. I know the pain, you will probably have to travel to get certified. Same reason I never made the jump. Its dumb as hell that you need a level 2 when the coverage of level 2s is abysmal.
Send it back and buy one thats in good condition. Seriously you are getting ripped off if you keep it. That card belongs in the garbage with that much damage.
Why do all the good promos have to be garbage foils? Foils have no value to me since they curl, and the curling seems to only get worse with each new set aside from the DFC foil cards that have foil on both sides to counteract the foil curl.

Coolstuff is my go to site, ive ordered played and gotten cards I would trade as NM.
TrollandToad are the worst if you care about quality of the cards you are getting.
