I like the way the deck works and Energy Field is one of my favorite cards, but I never got a good idea how to make use of my playset, but here it is: Rest in Peace! And I like the way of winning the game with Helm of Obedience (or Luminarch Ascension). I think I'll build a similar deck with the cards I have and try it. I hope it will be good enough to compare with other legacy DtB!
thank you for this wonderful thread, I'll keep following it!
Well I'm not the person to let a game last 30 mins or longer just sitting there waiting till my opponent scoops thats not my style =D
so thats why I suggested to put in one test^^
But be careful Starlit sanctum doesn't work with Task Force because it's a rebel not a cleric^^
I still like the GW list, but you can't get Test of Endurance in G1 only Souvereign and he is target to point removal... that's why I suggested to play 1 Test of Endurance main. so 1 spot might be Test but don't know what to put out of the list^^
well with any lifelink creatures you mostly won't need to Fling your enemy to death, because the creatures do it all the way, so why get Fling into the list?
The next option is like Snow said Soul sisters, but this is heading for a different game plan, so I think you have to decide which plan you want to take...
I also agree that you could also include About Face in the GW-list and kill with Starlit Sanctum easier than with another spell (Fling)
Edit:
And yes Condemn would perhaps also be a good Option instead of Swords to Plowshares if you want to get more life by targeting your own creatures^^... Diamond valley isn't really in the budget section =D
Oh well yeah I forgot about Task Force and Starlit Sanctum... had only Diamond Valley in mind but thats not a good idea in the budget section.
@ Kaya of course you can cast this multiple times during the game with Isochron Scepter... as long as the exiled card remains in the exiled area and you have the mana to spend and you can tap Isochron you can cast the imprinted spell... =)
Well I guess there are several ways to built the deck around this strategy but you have to think about with what you have to deal with, if you want to play Legacy competitive ... Perhaps you might have a bit of control in so I would definitely get Oblivion Ring in(to deal with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn) maybe Swords to Plowshares also (can remove your own creatures too to gain life) well and then there is Silence or Orim's Chant to slow down combo. In fact that you are playing these Instants at CC2 or less Isochron Scepter would fit very nice into the deck I think.
Well Ok I think this thread will lead to the "normal" Stasis deck, so would it be nice to have something like turnabout to ensure that the opponent is tapped out?
And could you also splash with green to get options for Elephant Grass or simply go the control way with counters and bouncers?
Oh well yes now I understand what you meant ^^ I was kind of confused -.- So the only thing that would work would be, if I had something with cumulative upkeep which kills him before he gets solutions to my "lock" hmm thats hard
Thanks for the input...
The creatures don't annoy me much because I have things like Elephant Grass and Glacial Chasm. And for the reason of getting cards there is Psychic Possession or Mystic Remora(for combo). So I still would get cards and could counter and I could also include Solitary Confinement. Tangle wire should be in there too then.
Thanks for the input!
Well that seems like a "classic" stasis deck, but isn't there the problem that you don't get any cards after playing the lock? So what about things like a Qasali Pridemage on the field?
I think this list is quite good but is it fast and consistent enough to deal with the rest of the decks? Shouldn't there be at least on spell to bounce something which threatens the lock?
And how about the idea of abusing some Cumulative Upkeep cards? isn't that playable?
Hello guys I just found a playset of Chronatog and wanted to rebuild the good old Stasis deck, but there are to much haters out there shutting down Stasis. Thats why I also thought of other kinds of abusing Chronatogs ability to skip turns.
And I thought of a relatively old ability: Cumulative upkeep

Well yes this deck looks fine but I don't get it why Emrakul is in here...just against the mill? And why isn't Felidar Souvereign and Test of Endurance not in the maindeck? yes Souvereign can be fetched with Living Wish but I'd run at least 1 winopt. main, also you can combo it in with Academy Rector+ Starlit Sanctum
can u keep up that long against combo like High tide? shouldn't there be a Leyline of Sanctity to protect against something like this?
Edit: OK I got it... Ethersworn canonist is your choice against combo and you can get it online G1 with living wish also^^ didn't see that

About face
so u don't need the lifelink creatures... As a second win option I would play Test of Endurance. Just a few thoughts of mine, I hope I can help you with these

Well basically I'm trying to build the deck with a classic Stasis shell but also have options with other cards to set the enemy under pressure so here are some results in my Brainstorming:
Elephant grass (against aggro)
Psychic Possession( still getting cards to my hand if I alwas skip my turns)
Malignant Growth (to fasten the enemy mill)
Ancestral Knowledge
Mystic remora
Glacial Chasm
Illusionary terrain
another option would be something like Donate things like Illusions of Grandeur or Thought Lash...
but I am still more interested in a playable stasis or Cumulative Upkeep deck abusing Chronatog^^ so are there any suggestions?
Greetings Heskatet
also tried it with Phyrexian Tower to hard cast Emrakul, the Aeons Torn if needed, if this is something you are searching for =)
