So I have a Birthing Pod and a Kitchen Finks in play and decides to sac the finks to pod for a cmc 4 creature.

Is it possible to have the cmc 4 creature comes into play first then I resolve the persist from the finks, or does the persist have to resolve first then the cmc 4 creature comes into play or being the active player do I get to choose which to resolve first?

What about Purphoros, God of the Forge?

Seems like an interesting card. It can be tutored out via pod and chord and drawn via Domri's +1.

It works pretty well with the massive creature arsenal kiki pod has. Pings with voices' tokens coming into play, finks/redcap/glen persists, restoration angels' blink and kiki's tokens.

It makes every creature casted, especially in late game into a shock.

If you play Jhoira, get ready to be aimed at all the way!

I'm running Jhoira in my playgroup and another friend of ours is playing Azusa. I can see a whole lot of difference in term of hatred towards the two generals or even other top-tiered generals like Azami or Rafiq that are being played. Almost all the FFA games we had resulted in Jhoira vs 3 at the start.

To quote what a playgroup mate had previously commented: playing with and against Jhoira is like a big race against time. A race for the Jhoira players to cast her out, suspend a fatty and sweep before turn 5-6. A race for the other players to look for answers to stop the fatty and the sweep.

The answers are usually pretty straight forward and that is to bring Jhoira down as fast as possible. Politics usually do not work for Jhoira players who play sweeps. Anyone who is in their right mind would think twice to side with Jhoira as often the sweeps do not benefit anyone except the Jhoira players themselves.

As for games with other top tier generals like Azusa and Azami, games are usually pretty balanced out.

If you plan to run Jhoira, do prepared to take the heat. I had gotten hit with turn 1-2 Pithing Needle/Nevermore - Jhoira or getting Jhoira countered/tucked/STP/Doom Blade. However I find it a challenge to be able to pull off a win vs 3 like how in one game my Jhoira was tucked and everyone let their guard down and was tapped out. I did an end turn flashed in Bogardan Hellkite and then followed by a kicked Rites of Replication to everyone's face. I do not win very often but it's such wins that really make my day.
