One thing, I have always been disappointed with was the introduction of legendary creatures mixed with the new card concept of the M"X" coreset. Now the concept I have been remiss about and continue to hope to see is the return of legendary creatures, that never got an original card.
The flavor aid in bringing back cards they missed with the set while not having to devote an entire block, or really needing a large excuse is something I was hoping for. Point in case I have used as an example is Gix. Gix in the story was a general and commander in Phyrexia and showed up in a wide arrange of cards and and flavor text, but was never given a card.
Now with the death of Gix ages ago there is no reason to really bring him back into the story, and baring some form of screwed up Timesprial madness we'll never see a Gix card printed. That being the case the Core set could prove like a useful area to touch on flavor of the past while introducing new legendary creatures, which they are not afraid to do showing M13.
That all being said, this would take an odd shift in the mind set of the core set and point a game in a backwards looking direction as opposed to looking to the future, but I believe that there are enough Legendary figures in lore that it wouldn't be a waste, just a far fetched plan to begin with.
Well valid points aside I do suppose that the concept of printing a $5ish dollar rare at uncommon was a touch....optimistic to put it lightly.
And my words may have come off scewed, personally I would be estatic if hte worst rare I could open was City of Brass, that being said seeing as it is part of a pack, it almost speaks for itself that as lack luster as it may seem it will not be the worst rare of the set.
And having its art on the case adds further proof that wizards is happy of this decision for this land to be reprinted in this set.
May be going insane, and I don't pretend to be a modern guru, but I at least think the theory of City of Brass at uncommon isn't to hard to fathom. I mean only time will tell, but the only thing that would be keeping it at rare are its iconic statue and its availability in black border.
Now whether that is enough to keep this card a rare in a set to promote Modern only time will tell, but I know if I pay 7 dollars for a pack of cards and my rare is this, I would feel a touch disappointed. But then again, I could have said that about half the gatecrash packs I opened.
I wish they'd go back to the style of the product when it came out, via creature type. I would love to see a FTV:Angels. Whether we ever will I remain skeptical at best.
On a more thought out approach I would maybe put my money on FTV: Enchments, they have done relics, lands, either that or maybe spells to try and bring things full circle.
Like exalted, it could also potentially exist on some enchantments.
I think this notion is a touch mistaken, as the wording on Firemane Avenger says when she and 2 other creatures attack. Seeing as they tend to limit abilities and complexity in their first reveal. (See the complexity of Unleash on many cards) I doubt we'd see anything keyworded to have batliaon. But something similar to
WR
Attacking Creatures you control gain First Strike
Isn't too far out of the realm of possiblities.
Now Moving back to the concept of Cipher, other then the standard interaction of play spell encode creature, I will be intrigued to see how they take it to the next level. I mean they are very afraid of anything to warping, but I don't think a Time Warp with cipher is to unbelievable.
This. . . . The second ability is critical. . . . Each approach. . . . If this was to get hold of a 0/13 big trees directly 13:00 blood. . . Take reversion shells of chickens and ducks beast up the number of points. ,. . . But the key is the opposite approach you up blood ah! ! ! The estimated cost of at least 4-5 fee above it. .
Mostly just trying to make sense of this madness. After a long night of trying to work it out, I can't help but feel massively trolled. I so hate the dry season.
My main question is why do people believe she would cost 3? I mean not one of the former leaders or even jarad has broken the rule of costs 2 of each color, so following that system she would at least cost 4 and unless her power/toughness where high (something they don't like doing on tapping creature) It still just seems a touch meh.
I mean maybe if she came into play with a pair of tokens or something it would fit the theme and I could see it, but as the card is stated it just feels like a poor excuse for a guild leader.
Seeing what Jarad does as the golgari guild leader, this seems a far cry. Not only have guild leaders not had the guild mechanic on the card even at a cmc of WWGG this is a touch week.
Not to mention in the translation shouldn't the mana cost of the ability be switched with white first? (forgive my ignorance if that is not the case or a simple error on transition.)
At first looking at the card aside from the body the mechanic seems a tad underwhelming. That being said, its one instance of a mechanic that is just being released, so I am sure there will be plenty of other times when cards show up that are better instances.
Again I'll with hold my judgement until we are not looking at an isolated instance.
Wizards webteam is probably in Nebraska on 28k motel dialup.
Not only is that off topic, but its a little offensive. Nebraska isn't a back water little wasteland, and if I had info for spoiling a planeswalker like this, I would be having way too much fun with this.
My favorite card would have to be cryptic command, but if I had to really think about it I would sat Eight and a half tails gets an honorable mention. Love that crazy fox.

Well it's alright, I've convinced people we ride cows to school, so people can be oblivious.
As for this thread in general, I love the irriaition one delay has caused.
