Agreed . Compared with Honor of the Pure when it's +/1/+1 boost seems redundant when we comes up against a deck heavy on Bolts/Helix. However everytime I look at its casting cost I can't help but think of Elspeth, Knight-Errant .
Right. A single Honor of the Pure doesn't quite save our Knights from things like Bolt and Helix. But Light from Within does that single handedly. You really can't help but think about Elspeth in that 4cmc slot, but LfW doesn't get attacked by creatures/responded to. They could just Bolt your Mirran Crusader in response to pumping with Elspeth. But they can't do that with LfW.
When I sideboard I just jam in the cards I want and get on with it lol. The deck has so many important pieces that cutting becomes so difficult so rather than chopping off a huge chunk of the chance I see a card, my odds go down across the board ever so slightly to bring something in.
Really digging those Plunge results!
Edit: I do bring out the Cities of Brass for Caverns.
Notes on the deck:
1.) Knights cap out at 3cmc
2.) All Knights have some form of First Strike
2.) 8 Knights with Lifelink
3.) 12 Knights with assorted protections.
104.4b If a game that's not using the limited range of influence option (including a two-player game) somehow enters a "loop" of mandatory actions, repeating a sequence of events with no way to stop, the game is a draw. Loops that contain an optional action don't result in a draw.
1)Is there a way to tweak this for the budget-oriented? 4 Mox Opal is a bit of a blow to the bank.
2)Doesn't this deck autolose if you run out of equipment in your draws?
Unfortunately Mox Opal is a cornerstone to this deck. Without it you can't chain Retracts.
You don't really auto-lose, but you will need to find a way to restart the Combo (Retract. Noxious for Retract). If you play the deck conservatively, that is stopping the combo if you draw another Paladin, playing it next turn and continuing it's rather easy. Or tutoring it with Spoils / Plunge. You must have drawn at least one out to a speed bump along the way.
Knowing when to keep going and when to stop is something you learn in practice.
I don't get the argument behind "the banlist will grow larger". It's not like they're banning anything you can currently play anyway.
Do people have a fear of long lists? Are people incapable of cross referencing a list before trowing their 75 together?
Choice wise, I'm for the PC/COMM exclusives. Scavenging Ooze used to be one.
Personally, they should just focus on having a regularized Modern Masters product and create exclusives there (not limited to cards that don't exist, possibly even cards that have not been printed in modern) since that way they can simply not put cards they'd auto-ban.
I'm interested in this deck. Not building it. Since I've got enough decks in paper. But I'm interested in automating it. I've got a bunch on my plate right now but I'll be coming back to this. Hopefully we get to a more optimal list I can work off when I do kick it off.

- Mill It to Win It is an idea in which through programming an automatic deck simulator we will be able to determine the performance of cards that mill our opponent's libraries.

On Knight of the White Orchid, I'm still testing this new land base before deciding whether or not I still need him.
