Mythic Monsters will be hosting a Vintage event on August 16 starting at noon. This event will be un-sanctioned so that unlimited proxy cards will be legal. The Entree cost will be $10 (cash preferred) and the prize structure will look as such:
8 or less players: Chinese Griselbrand and a flooded strand
9-14 players: Vendilion Clique (MM)
15-20 players : Signed Italian Mana Drain
20+ players: If we get more than 20 players the tiers will begin to stack and other vintage staples will added as needed.

Just a reminder to the southside people that showed up two weeks ago and anyone that hasn't been to the Lich's lair, modern will be played every Sunday, that was not just a one time event. The store welcomes players of all skill levels, age etc. We look forward to seeing everybody there tomorrow.
Starting this sunday, Lich's Lair in Lansing IL will be hosting modern starting at 3 P.M. Lansing is located less than 30 minutes south of chicago and less than 10 minutes from the Indiana Illinois border. The entree will be 5 dollars. Please message me if you have any questions. If people near the south side of chicago are interested I would like to host a legacy event at purdue calumet university. Currently I would be looking at $10 dollar entree with winner getting a from the vaults realms. I do not have a day set yet so if you are interested please message me what days work out and whatever times work best from people I will make it that day.
I have gotten a store in Lansing Illinois to host modern events if I can get 8 or more people. These events will yeild plainswalker points and prize pools. I am setting up a facebook page to organize these events. Once I have an established day and time that is best for both the players and store owner I will be posting this on here. Alright guys good news, I have found a place on the south side in lansing illinois that will host modern events if we can get 8 people or more. This means we can have a playtesting group for GP chicago as well as have a place to just play modern for fun that counts for plainswalker points and has a prize pool. The owner has let me know that if we can set a time with him directly that work for the group as well as his store. If anyone is interested let me know so I can add you to the facebook group as we set this thing up.
Modern has become a format that I am in love with but I can only play it at major events. I live on the south side of Chicago and would love to either find a store that supported the format or start a league that meets at a store and plays. If anyone has interest or knows of something similar to this already happening around Chicago please let me know
