. . . I feel an income tax is the preferred method because its alot harder to defraud income than purchases. Its just easyer to track. This will remain until we go pure digital currency.

funny how this falls in line with Christian end-times prophecy.

Yes, John of Patmos even said predicted which OS it would be used on, no doubt.

I'll summarize Hostess' bankruptcy as this: We live in an artisanal, organic world now, with everyone belonging to a niche market. The only niche market Hostess could potentially get is vegans (by replacing eggs with soy lecithin or something and milk with palm oil and flavoring). In capitalism, if you don't keep up with trends, you're dead.

I don't think storm works the way you think it does. You don't actually "cast" the copies of a spell with storm. They just materialize, already on the stack, like any other copy. The same applies to replicate. But since you copy storm spells as you cast them (because otherwise, one-card infinite combo), it doesn't work with other copy effects. And since replicate copies as you cast it (because, again, one-card infinite combo), it doesn't work with other copy effects.

Anyway, Basilisk Collar is really good with Tibor and Lumia. Or with Jaya Ballard. Or Inferno Titan. Or Prodigal Pyromancer. Or...Basically it turns "deals 1 damage..." into "destroy..."

Depends. Lin Sivvi is a lot less annoying online than IRL.

You do understand this is a religious conflict that was going on forever.

No, it isn't. It began because Lord Balfour promised Palestine to the Jews, the Palestinians, and the French if they fought the Kaiser. He was a fool all around: Any German invasion of Britain goes through France. He somewhat overestimated the Arabs' abilities, no doubt based on dime novels. As for the Jews, Balfour read one too many antisemitic conspiracy theories. France retracted their claims at the first meeting of the League of Nations, leaving us where we are now.

Israel has other issues that make it a bigger issue. Essentially, the point of Israel is to have a state with a Jewish majority, so that there will always be a safe haven for Jews, hence (for instance) Israeli anti-miscegenation laws. In addition, ultra-Orthodox Jews have many children, and they're very powerful in the Knesset because (like extremely religious types in general) they tend to be monolithic. (A parallel can be drawn to how in the U.S., Southerners and Midwesterners vote against their self-interest because their preacher told them to do so.) And what do they want? Settlements, dear boy.

In addition to this, foreign groups have taken a big issue with Israel. In Islamic countries, various despots just know they can rile their populace up against Israel and distract from domestic issues. In the United States, a little-known but politically influential strain of Christianity known as premillennial dispensationalism (Think John Hagee.) exerted a great deal of influence on President Bush, and on Republicans in general because, well, see the above paragraph about voting against one's self-interest because the preacher said to do so. Democrats are, of course, afraid to criticize Israel out of fear of seeming judgmental.

Premillennial dispensationalism is a bizarre sort of occult doctrine, considered heretical by most Christian denominations. (Among other things, it denies the resurrection of souls, preferring instead that the faithful simply disappear, whisked away to heaven.) But the basics are: The establishment of Israel is required for Christ's return. Israel must be a completely Jewish state, with all Jews living in Israel. Then, of course, Jesus presumably tosses all unbelievers into the lake of fire.

Armistice is expensive, but it's somewhat of an anti-Greed.

If you have a lot of recursion and blink effects, consider Wall of Omens. Wall of Omens + Sheoldred, Whispering One or Debtors' Knell or Reya Dawnbringer or Sun Titan + sac outlet (and you're in the best colors for those) is like drawing an extra card every turn.

Lifegain/life payment. Put Whitesun's Passage on the stick, then draw five cards every turn.

Also, tokens/sacrifice. Grave Pact is really good here.

I doubt you'd see any backstabbing. Given how many people hate MLD, it's far more likely everyone will collude against the caster. In multiplayer, Bend or Break may as well read Target opponent destroys some of your lands. Your opponents get to mock you.

    That's why it's so hilarious.

Yeah, it's no Fact or Fiction.

Doubling Season and Parallel Lives are the most obvious answers.

And Corpsejack Menace and Cathars' Crusade.

I also think of Fecundity and Grave Pact, though. Gaea's Cradle, Earthcraft, Falkenrath Noble...the list goes on.

Kaalia, followed by Tariel. Oros is just weird. Mostly I want to use him with Basilisk Collar, but then I'd need a lot of recursion effects or something.

  • posted a message on Privatized (Private Sector) Nation
    Quote from Undisputed-
What we have right now in the United States most closely resembles fascism. The private sector is cartelized by government regulation. Winners and losers are picked based on political clout and who has the money to buy the power government has to offer. Government monopolizes the most critical sectors of society (police and judicial services, the ownership of roads and streets, the supply of money, postal service, education, public utilities, transportation, and radio and television) to keep everyone dependant on it's very existance.

    Isn't fascism defined by:

*Nationalism. Nationalism is a sine qua non of fascism. While not all fascists were racist, and Mussolini's fascism only took on a racial form as he got entangled with Hitler, fascism is usually associated with racism and imperialism.
*Corporatism. Fascism advocates an alliance between theh business class and the state. Colonization of foreign countries was seen as a method through which unemployment could be minimized.
*Totalitarianism. Fascists cannot stand criticism. As such, social indoctrination and the suppression of critics are key elements of fascism, and in fact are what people refer to when they use "fascist" as an insult.
*Third position. Fascism regards capitalism and Marxism as obsolete. Capitalism is seen as too materialistic. Marxism is seen as too divisive of the national character. (Ironically, modern-day third positionists actively seek out ethnic separatists in the United States.)
*Action. The fascists are not passive. They believe in action, even violent action.
*Youth. Fascism emphasizes youth, both as "the future" and in the sense of vitality. Fascist Italy declared homosexuality a disease because they saw homosexuals as pederasts, and saw sexual excitation of children as a cause of criminality. Nazi Germany emphasized Kinder, Kirke, Kuche ("children, church, home") as the feminine ideal.
*Palingenesis and modernism. One final aspect of fascist ideology is purging of "decadent" cultural icons. Mein Kampf even has a paragraph dedicated to the "evils" of Marcel Duchamp.

Superfriends decks love proliferate, Doubling Season, Norn's Annex, Dueling Grounds, and any and all Turbofog variants (any fog-variant instant for two-mana or less with Isochron Scepter, Spike Feeder with some form of reusable bounce, recursion, or putting +1/+1 counters on it). But you'll have to tell us more of what you want.
