Result: 3-1, 1st-4th places with 9 points
Hey guys! I want to show my deck, and maybe you can help me improve my deck. My deck has a good potential at FNM.
I won a couple of FNM and the last Showdown tournament. The deck is based on the original DZyL deck, but after the rotation I made some changes.
I saw in Dominaria spoiler - The Antiquities War, what do you think? And I'm looking for more cards that can be put in the sideboard for Mastermind's Acquisition. Other changes are possible.
Card explanations: Combos:
Reservoir + Paradox Engine + Mana rocks + card draw - main combo (Colossus + Morbid Curiosity almost always a win)
Reservoir + Many artifacts + Colossus on board + Colossus in grave - (sac colossus and one of artifacts, play colossus, repeat ) 8-9 casts wins game.
Colossus in grave + Mastermind's Acquisition + Marionette Master - can often win the game instantly.
One attack with Colossus (may be unblockable with Key of the City) + Mastermind's Acquisition + Fling = win
3+ Caravans + Mastermind's Acquisition + Start Your Engines = a couple of times was an unexpected victory
Paradox Engine + 4 Caravans + play 1 Colossus = can be unexpected 20 damage
Mastermind's Acquisition + Approach of the Second Sun - yesterday won one game with this combo
Creatures:
Metalwork Colossus - Main power.
Artifacts:
Prophetic Prism, Metalspinner's Puzzleknot - Card draw, to reduce cost of colossus, synergy with some combos. Prism for mana-fix.
Paradox Engine + Aetherflux Reservoir - main combo. Helps to live up to a late game.
Caravan and Orazca Relic - Mana rock and can be do something in late game. Support for combos and Colossus.
Renegade Map - Less lands = more artifacts, often i can play with one land hand. Synergy with Fatal Push, combos, etc.
Sorceries:
Baral's Expertise - Bounce you own Colossus, Crane, Prism or bounce key creatures/artifact of opponent. Important part of Paradox/Reservoir combo.
Yahenni's Expertise - In aggro metagame clearing the board and play another artifact is very important.
Morbid Curiosity - Fuel of Paradox/Reservoir combo. Sac colossus etc.
Mastermind's Acquisition - An important card for finding solutions in a specific situation. This card won me a few games before sideboard.
Lands:
Inventor's Fair for search for key artifacts (Colossus/Reservoir/Paradox Engine/Key).
Sideboard:
Battle at the Bridge - Very good removal in this deck. Life gain matters. Kills indestructibles. Can be found with Acquisition. Can helps for Reservoir.
Metallic Rebuke - cheap counterspell vs slow/combo decks.
Mirage Mirror - It can be useful in rare cases. Make copy of god creatures, helps colossus etc. Applicant for replacement.
Sideboard solutions for Mastermind's Acquisition:
Marionette Master - combo kill with mass artifacts and Colossus in graveyard.
Start Your Engines - won several games for me.
River's Rebuke - versus token decks/Ixalan's Binding/multiple enchantment and artifact decks.
Approach of the Second Sun - versus other decks, like turbofog. (yesterday won one game with this card)
Fling - if you have a colossus and your opponent has 10 or less life. (this card won me a few games)
Revolt - At the beginning of your end step, if a permanent you controlled left the battlefield this turn, create a 1/1 colorless Servo artifact creature token.
