Any thoughts on using the new Teferi? Being able to combo off without worrying about counters and the ability to time warp at instant speed seem pretty good. And for just 3 mana nonetheless
Nahiri being confirmed as the WR uncommon eliminates the possibility of Kasmina taking that slot. That means that the following setup is practically confirmed.
The remaining walkers are then, most likely, with their available slots as such:
Kamina (U uncommon, 055-057)
Narset (U uncommon 061-062)
Tamiyo (U rare 065-071) (though these three could be interchanged in rarities)
Jaya (R uncommon 133-139)
Sarkhan (R rare 143-145) (and again these two could be swapped)
In theory, we could still see some deviations from this if WotC pulls a curveball and does something weird like make Narset or Sarkhan UR (and pushes Saheeli to rare), but the above layout looks like a lock to me.
this brakedown would mean that we'd have 4 mono U walkers (Kasmina, Narset, Tamiyo and Jace) and 4 mono R (chandra, tibalt, sarkhan, Jaya) while we have 3 for every other colour.
with sarkhan being grixis, isn't there a possibility for Narset to be jeskai and sarkhan to be temur?
nevr mind I just realised that green has 4 too. the asimmetry of this is KILLING me. UGH!
Elves have plenty of good tribal stuff already. Don't know if they need an entire precon deck. Maybe they can solve this issue like with the Esper Zombie commander and sneak one legendary elves somewhere.
Like if they printed an abzan colored Rhys (set in the new Lorwyn/Shadowmoor without the aurora) as a stand-alone commander in an abzan colored deck instead of making an entire tribal deck?
What do you guys think about a birchlore rangers reprint. I think it would breathe some consistency in elves (weaker heritage druid for current builds) or variety in sideboard cards. I don't see it vaulting the deck up to the top tables anytime soon, but it would be a welcome addition. It seems like one of the weaker legacy pieces that could port over.

stores are getting more promos and are able to use them as they want. I really don't understand what are people complaining about.
This move has received universal praise everywhere, even from people that are know for not going soft with their complains.
I remember talking to the owner of my FLGS few months ago about promos and this is exactly what he was saying, that he wanted to be able to use the promos he was given for anything. now they can do it. for any event they put up they can give away promos and guess what? the more events they do, the more promos they'll get.
I think possibly he was referring to the amount of chalices of the void with x=1 and graveyard hate that are being played at the moment because of dredge and UR phoenix
hello everyone, I'm here for a bit of advice.
I've recently bought all the pieces to build this deck, I saw it being played and really enjoy it, even though I haven't personally played it yet.
talking a out modern with my mates one said the other day "no one in their sane mind would play UR storm in the current meta".
do you guys agree with that statement? why?
i've been really excited for quite some time about playing this deck and i've finally got all the pieces for it, that comment really bummed me.
I hope Teferi's in one of them so I can pick up some more. I got mine at $13 (lol!) and I'm not paying $50 for another.
In Gavin’s interview with the Professor, he was torn about saying the answer. He seemed to want to say yes, but obviously can’t. He also mentioned how the Chandra/Hazoret challenger deck was the ‘IT’ deck when they announced them. I don’t think he wanted to say yes that Teferi is one of the decks and over hype it and make it automatically the ‘IT’ deck. He probably wants the other decks to get a fair chance.
The other challenger deck got a fair chance since we didn’t know Chandra was in one ahead of time. If people did, nobody would have bothered to give the other decks a glance.
Lol u srs? It's clear he was about to say no.
I disagree. Why go through the effort of looking like you're excited to say something if what you're going to say is disappointing?

yes that's something they could do.
What we really need is that they unban glimpse of nature
meh.
I'd rather have symbiote

what's not to like?
so now that there will be more and more diverse promos you don't go anymore?
