The thread is not being moved because the opening post doesn't say "I reckon that there should be a Norse set" but "I've been told there will be a Norse set", hence its a rumour and not a speculation
It sounds like people just won't ever be happy until they get From The Vault: Staples. A set with a defined list of cards, all of which are the top 50 most played cards in each format, all cards are available in the box, and the MSRP is some ridiculous low price that crashes the entire market.
See that sounds like an idea I had few years ago. They should do "boosters", but more like little boxes, with fixed content, in the same way lcgs do, with modern staples divided per color.
You can still keep rarity by putting commons in 4x, uncommons in 2x and rares/mythic in 1x.
For example you could have a black "booster" with 2x fatal push, 2x inquisition of kozilek, 1x thoughtseize, liliana of the veil, dark confidant, goryo's vengeance.
You keep them constantly in printing. Would it kill the market? Sure! But I don't know you. I play mtg to have fun not to invest in cardboard.
i guess that's a joke, because your profile pic is pulling a silly face.
thankfully, the mtg-verse isn't related in any way to the actual-for-realsies-verse we live in - it's an artistic creation, occasionally inspired by the more exciting or interesting bits of our own cultures or whatever. accuracy isn't a thing
norse mythology and cultures are a bit of a goldmine. let's see if any of this rumour turns out to be true, and how, if at all, they use the vikings as an interesting nucleation point for fantasy shenanigans.
it was totally a joke. i never expected people to take it that seriously, lol
a complete, competitive deck of keyforge costs less than one of these boosters...
wotc is pulling the rope too much. we are all loyal enfranchised customers, but enough is enough. there is no way I'm dropping this kind of money for what I get in return.
I'm sorry but the most FUN way of playing izzet, is definitely thousand-year storm.
We need a thread to work on this. MTGolfish did a video on the deck and it looked pretty sweet! Not sure it's going to be anything more than a rogue deck for trolling FNM; but that works for me.
I agree. I've tried the mono blue a bit, and felt that I really wanted to go UB. the problem it's, absurdly, not the lack of choice but its abundance once we open to black cards.
Well, there goes the "we don't cross the streams in our products" argument right out the window, together with both the barrel, the baby, and the bathwater.
Now can we finally get Illithid and Neholders in M:TG?
I'm probably way off-base, but... what if the third name-to-be-announced Ravnica set (which we know does not focus on the 10 Guilds, and presumably features Nicol Bolas's invasion) is a full-blown D&D / MTG crossover set?

Whenever Geode Golem deals damage to a player, you may cast your commander from the command zone without paying its mana cost (you still pay any additional cost)

WOTC hates sensei diving top. they have banned it everywhere. they are NEVER going to print in a casual oriented product like commander. Never.
Isn't that kind of what people were saying about Sol Ring before the first generation Commander decks got spoiled?
I have no idea what people were saying back then. My point is that wotc is against the kind of game dynamic that top generates. Especially in a casual friendly, "for fun", multiplayer format. Edh games already take forever. Imagine if one or, god forbid, more player are playing top...
