the main point is that the deck's list is already very tight. if this goes in something needs to come out: Time warp: costs 2 less mana. nope Temporal mastery: same cost but with the option of casting it for 2 (much more likely to happen than before, now that we have jace). nope. Part the waterveil: normal cost is less, and at 9 is our finisher. nope.
But seriously, they need to reveal the commander deck face cards soon, they played them way too close to their chest last year and as a result people lost interest...
or something about battlebond...which comes out in what, 3 weeks? and we know absolutely nothing about...
Battlebond spoilers should start in 2 weeks time.
...battlebond pre-release is in two weeks time...and we know NOTHING. what I'm saying is that you're worried about not knowing anything about something that is coming out in august, while we know nothing about something coming out in 2 weeks.
this product is going to crash and burn among everyone's indifference.

I'm probably in the smallest minority here that never wants to see Ravnica again. I don't understand what makes it appealing, especially not from a lore standpoint.
I didn't enjoy the environment that RTR block brought either, games were either over by turn 4, or dragged on for the entire 50 minute round.
Super dull.
rtr standard is regarded as one of the best standard environments ever...
the amount of enchantments and cards with triple coulred mana cost, makes me think (and fear) that we are going back to theros soon.
I'd love a return to kamigawa or lorwyn, but i know it's extremely difficult.
Ravnica 3 could be good (i need more shocklands!!)
i honetly think we should just stay on dominaria for a while
Happy to see that they are paying attention to the format and they are going to support it in the future. I just got few of my students hooked on magic and I'm really trying to push them towards brawl, i reckon they'll have tons of fun with it.
I believe that the intro planeswalker decks that they make with every set, will soon become Brawl-legal. they are already thematically built around their PW, most of the cards are already singles, and if you really want you could take them to any standard event and they'd be legal.
i've actually always found burn pretty easy. and i'm on monoU. let them fetch and shock, and then boomerang their land, gigadrowse their lands and creature, exhaustion, and then go off.
after side, mull until you find leyline of sanctity and then take all the time you need (pun intended)
Having had some time to consider brawl I think I have reached a controversial conclusion on it.
I think it's better than standard
Hear me out.
- can make a brawl deck from the cards you get from drafting, meaning there's a direct link from draft into a constructed format.
- don't need playsets of the most expensive cards
- potentially busted combos are limited by only having one copy of each card
- is a springboard into commander
- can function competitively or casually
And maybe most importantly:
- builds your playing experience around the major characters in the game, embedding the themes and stories of magic into general play.
Guys. I think this format is actually legit.
I agree 100% on all of those points. I just wish they'd pushed it as a 1v1 competitive format instead of multiplayer. time will tell, if enough people get behind it, it will become competitive
Wow, "dark" elspeth looks amazing

lol, it used to be my win con before part the waterveil existed
can this Thread be moved there?
