Yes, in fact I started listening to BOO right as they dropped their first album. I think those three are better than most deathcore (along with a couple other bands like The Red Chord) but aren't anything that special. I especially think Veil of Maya is overrated and quite mediocre, some of BOO's material is decent though noticeably flawed and I think that After the Burial is pretty good, mostly on the re-released version of Rareform... I can't enjoy their newest album at all though.
Yeah, I can understand why you weren't a fan of the newest album. But, after hearing some stuff from a preproduction video for their new album, I think we've got something to look forward to.
Veil of Maya is pretty good but then again I like Sepultura/Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy and Sarcofago and they sound fairly similar.
Brazilian bands, eh? But... I guess I'm confused to what liking Veil of Maya has to do with those bands. Aren't those four mostly on the groove metal side?
I don't really like slam death, but Abominable Putridity (I do mildly enjoy that album, I'm never big on brutal dm vocals though) and [NSFW Cover, lyrics?]Devourment seem generally accepted as two at the top of the genre. As for goregrind, early Carcass (especially [NSFW lyrics?]Symphonies of Sickness) is necessary listening.
I hated deathcore until I heard animosity, then I knew it could be alright. Then I heard Knives Exchanging Hands and knew it could be quite good. They basically formed the band in order to make deathcore that wasn't just generic chugging.
I'm liking Abominable Putridity. Not so much the Devourment. I don't think I like that style of vocals. I've always considered Carcass just grindcore, but if their early stuff is goregrind, I'm gonna check some more out.
Have you heard any of the deathcore bands on Sumerian Records? I find them the most listenable.
Some songs I really like. I don't really consider After the Burial deathcore anymore, but I don't think Born of Osiris and Veil of Maya use "generic" chugging.
I think he's great, one of the few singers who can death growl and sing clean vocals very well
And that's what I'm trying to get at. There's so many styles of metal, I have a hard time picking who's the best. You can't really compare, let's say Mikael Akerfeldt to Bruce Dickinson. Two completely different styles. I like good singing. End of story.
I didn't buy a booster box, but I probably bought enough boosters to have a booster box of Dark Ascension. I don't understand the all the hate, I loved it.
Well, maybe you can recommend some brutal slam? I've never found any I've truly liked, but I'm very open to all genres. I just find some of the names ridiculous.
I'm gonna have to agree with you, Degduar Marte. When I think folk punk, first thing that comes to mind is more "ethnic" instruments, like bagpipes, accordions, banjos, and the like. That's folk punk to me. Punk with an influence of "the common man's" music.
Bone Splinters + Gravecrawler = one of my favorite combinations ever

What kind of music is this? It's like video game music, but so much more complex. I've never heard anything like this!
I've never heard such blasphemy in my life.;)
