Also, there is an unusually low amount of reprints, is it not? Reckless Scholar, Lightning Axe, Unruly Mob, Groundkeeper, Macabre Waltz, Catalog,Punishing light - anything more?.
There's also Tormenting Voice, Gloomwidow, Dead Weight, Magmatic Chasm, Mad Prophet, Ghostly Wings, Throttle and Fiery Temper.
I love that we got a new curse, and it even synergizes with the older ones!
So i read the mothership articles today....it seems that in exchange for getting the most badass version of Sengir Vampire in many an age, they are just plain going to stop making Vampires that are based off of Sengir Vampire ''because that's the Slith mechanic''.
Wonderful. Classic Wizards. Of course they will always keep putting out amazing stuff, but good luck hoping for them to realize what the actual best things they've done were when it comes time for the remakes.
Classic Ravnica, Zendikar, Innistrad, and probably Theros will always be better than Return Blocks.
Errr they said that we don't get vampires with the Sengir ability because they thought that madness was a cooler mechanic, not because that mechanic is sliths-exclusive. They also said that we WILL get some vampires with the mechanic, just that it won't be their main niche this time. You're complaining for literally no reason.
I agree with Jay here, the "godlike powers" of the oldwalkers are at least debatable. Yes, we see them creating planes and changing their form at will, but then they struggle with minor inconveniences. I mean, if Urza has the powers of a god, why does he need those silly mechs to fight a bunch of phyrexians? It's the classical "Why Don't You Just Shoot Him" that fantasy stories tend to fall on: you give your characters inconmensurable power, but then ignore those powers for the sake of a more compelling plot. The Mending was needed for a reason.
I'm at work right now, I will see if I can translate the whole thing later. The basical idea is that many weird things are happening in the province of Videns, in particular, many foreigners are congregating at Videns "distinctive rocks" (cryptoliths???) and weird burning marks are appearing in thr crops. Some guy also says he saw Avacyn quickly fly in Thrabens direction.
I was refering to the Spanish text with the Google Translate comment.
I'm assuming they are reinforcing the walls with silver. Another thing to note is that the word 'wall' is capitalized, so they aren't refering to a random wall, but an important one.
The word "silver" is also randomly capitalized, so I think it's just poor Spanish. It also has a wrong word for "carry", it should be "llevar" and not "tomar". The note is quite badly written so I wouldn't analyze it that much. But hey it's not the guy's fault, they must not a lot of Spanish schools in Innistrad
Just copy & paste from ReyWombat ;-) It is bad written in spanish too; I think the proper translation may be
"These pieces must be molten. Gunsmith needs silver for the weapons on the roof and on the top of the wall. Could you carry them to him?"
Yeah I doesn't make a lot of sense in Spanish either. I think that they don't meant "weapons" but most likely pikes like the ones that are put on fences.
So what do people think will happen now that the Eldrazi are missing?
That's a good question. There are a lot of places the story could go with that.
Overlays start to happen naturally, as planes aren't dying off fast enough (See: Rath)
Alternatively, planes start dissolving or fracturing because natural entropy isn't happening (See: Alara)
More, previously unknown Eldrazi start swarming to worlds where they sense planeswalkers
Something the Eldrazi kept in check is now freed (See: Metroid Fusion)
Okay, but shouldn't these happen when titans are trapped just as well? If they are in stasis they are not consuming worlds and have not been doing so for few thousands of years.
Only their physical form was sealed, so they could be still excerting influence from the Blind Eternities.
I tend to think that a return to Theros is unlikely given how it was received.
People complained about the low overall power level (which wasn't actually that low) and how the enchantment theme was handled, but creative-wise the set was really well received, it also had some great mechanics and individual powerful cards. I don't see why we wouldn't return to Theros, it's not like Kamigawa were the set failed at every level (bad cards, stupid mechanics, unpopular flavor).
Aaand with Conspiracy 2 announced for August, I guess we can safely asume that FTV will be replaced by anual Something Masters sets. Something I like by the way, as I nevef bought a FTV but was always a fan of the casual sets, and I was sad because they seemed to be replaced by this Masters sets.
I bet the block after SOI will be artifact based. Maybe Kaladesh?
This is what I though, too. And Maro said that the plane after SOI was never visited before but highly requested by fans, and if you look at the "short list" steampunk world is one of them (and yes, Maro also said that appearing in Origins doesn't count as first visit).
I love that we got a new curse, and it even synergizes with the older ones!
EDIT: Ninja'd
Maybe it's a Kaijudo reference...
