@ everyone asking Wizards to show their data and market research: It's terrible bussiness practice to give hidden information to the competence just because some guys on the internet are asking for it.

That wasn't what that poster was saying at all....he was giving reasons he doesn't respect what Mark Rosewater has to say.
He's trying to disprove facts (Maro says that New Phyrexia's sales were lower that expected) by comparing them to oppinions (Maro is not a fan of multiplayer games). If you think that that makes sense, I have to tell you that you're wrong because I don't like your avatar.
New Phyrexia was revealed in full from the god book without any impact on sales.
Mark Rosewater, whose word on this I'll take over yours, disagrees with that statement.
The same guy who believes Atogs are too silly for magic, believed that sliver's need an aesthetic change, thinks that female demons and male angels shouldn't be and didn't like conspiracy or edh. I don't follow anything he says because the majority of what he says is bull. I mean he joked about getting rid of landwalk, regenerate and protection in DGM. Only to do it a year later (April fools article that wasn't a joke...). He has never given out any market data or survey data. The survey's are terribly written and he honestly believes that Jace is a more popular character than anyone else in mtg. Really? Your gonna believe a guy who doesn't like 4 player games and believes that hiding information from the public is a good pr thing?

You might be onto something in terms of the repetitiveness and interchangeability of onslaughts art when I look at it closer, maybe I'm wrong on that count, but eh, every single card I listed was from onslaught (the set) wasn't it?
Actually, I was the one confused :S For some reason I though that some of the cards you mentioned were from Odyssey, my bad.
The whole "CG art is souless and boring and makes baby Jesus cry" is getting silly. Look at Onslaught block art, the art is plainly terrible (in particular every soldier and cleric looks exactly the same) yet is 100% traditionally painted. Art is good or bad independiently of the technique. That said yes, every eldrazi in this block looks yhe same to me -_-
The Onslaught block had some of the best artworks in magic history as far as I am concerned, which just proves the point that art is a matter of taste and nothing we can objectively argue about anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I agree on that Onslaught did have some outstanding pieces, but the set as a whole was way too uniform. I could find the whole story but there was some pro that got a game loss for playing a random non-morph soldier face down mistaking it for a Whipcorder. An easy error to make given that the art for every soldier looked the same.
Give me good old fashioned hand drawn western fantasy grinning demons and nantuko husks and annex any day before I ever have to see another angelic destiny. Thats a matter of taste. But cards like biorhythm or goblin piledriver being well drawn- thats objective. Sure, its not like its innistrad, its got aven brigadier and blackmail and circle of solace. But at least when they had bad art, it was one-offs, rather than repetitive. And some of it verged on self-parody
You are confusing Odyssey block and Onslaught block. And again, nobody is denying that they sere some good pieces of art, what I'm saying is that the art direction as a whole was boring. Every soldier is some guy in an armor fighting another guy on a plains. Every beast is a green thing roaring in a forest. Every cleric is a guy with a funny hat generating lights from somewhere. It's not about a few pieces of bad art, it's about a lot of pieces with plain and mediocre art. The same goes for BfZ. It's not bad because the art is CG, it's bad because it feels like that 80% of the art represents some guy with a rope fighting an amorphous thing with tentacles.

Players only think of abilities as all-upside because WotC keeps killing off creature drawbacks.
...which they do because WotC thinks players think abilities should be all-upside.
Nope, they think that because they take as a given that if you are playing a card it should benefit you and not your opponent. It happens in every trading card game, it's not something related to WotC's design policies. In Hearthstone for example cards with simetrical effects tend to have that part of their text in caps (like "Destroy ALL minions") because designers know that new players tend to forget that their own cards can also hurt them.
4.When Enthralling Victor was announced, wizards design team stated it was a card that would attempt a space of the colour pie red didn't really tap into
Err nope you got it wrong. The "space of the color pie red didn't really tap" wasn't mechanical but flavor related: red is the color of strong emotions, yet in cards it tends to be represented as the color of rage, rage and nothing but rage.
"I will complain about something I don't even understand." Eldrazi mana LOL.
BFZ was dissapointing for me, more because of boring mechanics than balance issues, but OGW looks insteresting so far. So I will, you know, wait until the whole block is spoiled before judging it.
Obligatory "angels are mana constructs and therefore they can't hold a spark, so no Avacyn planeswalker unless they pull another Karn on us which probably won't happen" post.
If we ever got an "angel" planeswalker, it will probably be a human that adopts the form of an angel (the same way Ob is the "demon" planeswalker) or a human with angel-themed magic powers (Serra planeswalker FTW!!!)

Nobody pretended that Victor was a mechanical innovation, it's the good old Threaten effect that red has been getting since a long time.
