What a ridiculously fun deck. Made some minor tweaks to my list. Dropped Volcanic Eruption, never seemed to work out to be useful when I needed it, added in back to basics in its place. I also want to work capsize into my 99. Did not miss the swords of x and y at all, the deck is a blast even without them. Hibernation straight up wins games in this deck, all star of my weekend.
What about a cute combo in the deck, and throwing in Mind over Matter and Temple Bell?
After thinking about it, a cute combo just seems like it would start to warp my build over time. My deck would slowly start to morph into a deck that is more about comboing and seeking out the combo then controlling colors or manipulating the game. No combo!
@LordRewind
Do you have any recent game reports you can share or insight into the new sets that have been released? The only inclusion I can think of adding to the deck is Spellseeker because it finds literally anything we need in the deck. Tutor effect? Transmute Artifact. Counterspell needed to protect your combo? Pact of Negation. This is a great card, frankly, and I think it definitely deserves a spot in the main list.
I haven't had a chance to play test Spellseeker in any decks yet. Depends on how competitive you run your list, its a very powerful tutor...but without flash and at 3 cmc, I am not 100% sold that she is a must have tutor effect. I much prefer effects like Mystical Tutor or Merchant Scroll for a cEDH deck. That said, again, I haven't had a chance to test her yet, don't own a copy yet, so I could be under-appreciating the value she brings.
Is mana maze really that bad in a deck that doesn't seem to do a lot on its own turn? We aren't exactly dumping our hand, but instead, establishing a really mana comsumptive board to abuse. That said though, maybe Arcane Laboratory might be a better card to unilaterally slow down play?
edit -
i only have 1 set of the swords, and unfortunately, they are all spoken for in my latest favorite deck, my Marvel Thor deck (Ragnar) - unless they see a much needed price dropping reprint, i will be unlikely to add them to this deck
Sunstone would be fun. I need to playtest the deck a few times. I really worry about its lack of interact-ability from turn 1-4. Sunstone may help out with the low creature count, and if you have a slow game start where you don't stick a few 2 drop creatures to give yourself a board presence.
Have you considered Dismiss into Dream? It looks like it could have some devastating impact; though the CMC is pretty ghastly. It would be a bomb though...turns Urza into a murder machine.
Noteworthy Changes / Includes:
I feel that this deck is incredibly mana greedy, so I have added a few ways to ensure I hit my land drops more. Changed my lands to Snow Covered so that I can capitalize on Scrying Sheets, which will will also grab coldsteel heart. Additionally, threw in Thawing glaciers, which is just another great way to ensure I hit my land drops.
Out: Concordant Crossroads - Honestly, it led to my opponents kicking my ass more often than me doing so, so its getting benched for the foreseeable future.
The deck primarily wins Via Synergy Control aspects.
Master of Waves Plus a creature lockdown is a pretty fast way to win
Other wincons are suiting up Blind seer with several swords and making him unblockable and untargetable via protection.
But Primarily I win of grinding out over the long haul which has led to a lot of really fun games
thanks a ton for the response Ulka. What about Invoke Prejudice - How much does this add to the deck / how important do you feel it is to your success? I would love to buy a copy, I am just not sure about it yet.
I think Mishra can compete, a lot of the cards in his 99 are often ones that seem to be chaotic or frustrating, but when run with Mishra and artifacts, become massive advantage generators
TL;DR up front - What a great EDH set. The Historic mechanic empowers artifacts further, that said, not a WHOLE lot of action for Mishra in this set when it comes to deck defining cards. These are the cards I think are worthy of mention, and you may want to include a few in your build
Blue
The Antiquities War - 4 mana to dig 10 cards deep and draw 2 extra cards. Not bad, though I do not like how the saga ends, forcing your artifacts into a creature state. Annoyingly risky in my opinion.
Diligent Excavator - I don't like mill. I don't run mill in my Mishra deck. That said, some people like mill artifacts, and they like to use them as a way to finish the game. If you are doing that, this is a card that might work for your deck.
Artificer's Assistant - Might be the best blue card of the set for us. 1 drop flier that also gives us scry 1 on every artifact cast. Pretty great actually.
Unwind - Might be a staple, I plan to grab a copy or two, though not for Mishra.
Red
Squee, The Immortal - Potentially good for a Stax variant as a permanent that never is truly gone.
Black
Phyrexian Scriptures - Turns Mishra into an artifact via Phyrexian means...oh man the brothers war is coming back to me. Then you destroy all non artifacts, then you exile your opponents graves! This card looks fun, and might be worthy of a slot if you want to tinker with it.
Colorless
Karn, Scion of Urza - Looks too slow to be impactful. At 4 mana I expect a bigger splash than let my opponent pick 1 of 2 cards off the top, and risk exiling an important card to my own strategy. His -2 makes a beater creature, which might be decent for the deck, but overall, I am a pass on new Karn.
Mox Amber - Doesn't accelerate our early game, which makes me question its viability as a moxen. Late game, it will just be a conditionally bad multi color land equivolent. I don't like it much.
Weatherlight - If you run a creature beatdown variant of Mishra, this might be good for you, as it turns 3 power into 4, flies, and can draw us cards when it hits.
Blackblade Reforged - Good on any commander for aggro bonuses. I will definitely be grabbing a copy for my Thor deck, but its only good in Mishra if you are running an equipment based Mishra Voltron.
Helm of the Host - Not really useful for Mishra himself, but any of our other creatures could make use of this one. I will likely grab a few copies and potentially throw one into Mishra for funsies. Also combines nicely with Mechanized Production
Mishra's Self-Replicator - With a name like that, how could we NOT like this card?! Oh, yeah, because its a 5 drop 2/2 that takes more mana to replicate. That said, once you start getting copies of copies of copies, you might be able to do some good things, and again, works with Mechanized Production
Thran Temporal Gateway - I have mixed feelings. Its nice that it cheats artifacts into play for 4 mana, but I am unsure how much I like that its only from hand into play. Might have to get a copy and playtest it a little.
Damping Sphere - This one might be great for a stax build. Slows down lands that generate a lot of mana, and it prevents players from dumping their hands quickly.
Jhoira's Familiar - Expensive, but a 2/2 flier that makes our cards cheaper to cast. Overall, I think it'd be a great budget version card to include.
Multicolor
Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain - Draw a card with every artifact cast? Definitely a must pick up card in my opinion, gives us a 2nd copy of Vedalken Archmage. I will be buying her immediately.
Rona, Disciple of Gix - I just don't think she will be viable enough to run. I will see, but I am in no rush to play test Rona.
Lands
Cabal Stronghold - Not as good as coffers, but its going to be more affordable.
Best PW printed for Mishra...potentially to date...well, both Daretti are great too...but man, hes pretty awesome.

Yeah, time to switch from quote to box tags. This happened when the UI shifted for MTGSalv, and the previous thread owner didnt update that.

gonna play test it a fair bit before changing any cards around.
Out:
Burnished Hart - Simply put, I wasnt getting the mileage for the investment, this card is too slow for my meta now.
In:
Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain - With so many historic permanents in this deck, this card is a massive draw engine for us! Thanks DOM!
Out:
Concordant Crossroads - Honestly, it led to my opponents kicking my ass more often than me doing so, so its getting benched for the foreseeable future.
In:
Blackblade Reforged - An even better representation of All Black, the Necrosword!
TL;DR up front - What a great EDH set. The Historic mechanic empowers artifacts further, that said, not a WHOLE lot of action for Mishra in this set when it comes to deck defining cards. These are the cards I think are worthy of mention, and you may want to include a few in your build
