I like your list , the only change I would do is to make drs and snapcaster Mage 4 ofs. Add one more steel shapers gift, remove one of the swords and make way for atleast 2 dark confidant or cantrips. I might actually build this since I have the cards, but it's gonna be my version

Merfolk goes a little over $800 for the full deck. I suppose I could wait for another paycheck and pay the extra $200 but that's somewhat over budget.

Bro, you don't have to pay full scg price on the forces and wastelands. Check eBay, the buy and sell thread, and other forums. Trust me, it will save you some dough. Investing on merfolk m or should I say a deck that has fow and wasteland is always a great idea. 50%of the decks in legacy uses either of them.
In your meta, sneak and show, affinity maverick, I know that merfolk would be insta-competitive. Your favored against combo, you have game against the air decks since ou have jitte and tnn, plus phantasmagoric image copying a lord or a tnn. Merfolk is my second deck in legacy after affinity. It's a good investment

Btw armada game is awesome because the buy in is at five bucks, and you will get a free booster pack just for signing up. If you spend 20 bucks on cards you can join any constructed events they have.

Tourney results would say uwr delverblade. But the deck that best utilizes tnn would have to be deathblade. Tnn gave that deck a much needed weapon that can help it fight from behind.

Every Saturday night at armada games in Tampa Florida.
Smallest crowd I've seen for legacy is 10, with the biggest is 20. Meta's diverse though because half of the people that play have multiple decks, and it's always 4 round of Swiss, cut to top 8 or 4. So it's always worth it to travel 1 hour to play.

As a deathblade player, I prefer him over dark confidant for a couple of reasons.
    1. Blue- fow fodder
    2. Carries equipment better
    3. If it gets burned or removed, I still gain value because it replaced it self immidiately, unlike bob.
4.alows me to get back into the game without taking a life point in crucial moments.
    5. Blocks nimble mongoose, tarmogoyfs, and other big beaters that death blade can't handle.

  • posted a message on The ban hammer on true name nemesis
I played the card in death blade, uwr delver, even in merfolk.
The card is insane people. Based on the latest scg, the hype is real. I don't want to be the guy that spreads fear mongering but, it might get banned. I don't want it too, because it gives death blade a new weapon. I know it's too early to say that it will. It will suck for death blade and uwr delver players like me, if it gets banned within the first coupe of weeks. I sincerely hope the format will adapt. What do you guys think?

Please keep all ban list discussion to the official thread. Warning for spam issued.

This is my new take on death blade. I apologize in advance if there's a death blade thread, but I can't find it.

    4 death rite shaman
    4 stone forge mystic
    3 true name nemesis
    2 baleful strix
    2 snap caster Mage

    4 brainstorm
    1 ponder
    3 force of will
    4 swords to plowshares
    2 abrupt decay
    2 thought seize
    1 inquisition of kozilek
    1 detention sphere

    3 jace the mind sculptor

    1 batter skull
    1 umezawas jitte

    3 floode stran
    2 polluted delta
    1 marsh flats
    1 verdant catacombs
    1 misty rainforest
    2 tundra
    2 underground sea
    1scruland
    1 tropical island
    1 savannah
    2 wasteland
    1 karakas
    1 academy ruins
    1 plains
    1 island
    1 swamp

This new build incorporates true name nemesis, as it helps to somewhat nullifies the decks weakness: fighting when behind. Added with the strix, which I believe is somewhat better than bob in this deck, solidifies our offensive and defensive creatures, as they carry equipments quite well. I've been an advocate of strix for a long while. Before tnn, I had 3 on main board. It just so happens that tnn does a lot for the deck. With 2 decays and 4 stp, having at least 2 snap aster is somewhat justified. 3 force of will with 19 blue cards is perfect. 3 discard spells also helps against combos in g1. I've actually considered taking out 1 jtms for another fow, but I haven't tested this yet. The 3 basic lands don't actually hurt the deck as much as I thought. It can and will function well especially with shaman. Thoughts on the deck are appreciated. Again sorry if I posted this on the wrong deck thread.

    Quote from Mild Wongrel
Yes, shardless BUG basically does everything those decks do but better, with the exception of beating combo decks, and (some) tribal decks, basically all of shardless's matchups are better.

Its sad for me cause I like esper stoneblade, but its true.

    Wrong.

Because people are just like a herd of sheep. They follow what's in the trend. I'm an esper stone blade player (not death blade, though I have both). And esper stone late has better overall matchups against any decks than shard less. My play group has all the tier 1 decks, including shared less bug and stone blade variants, and we play test them regularly. The reason a shard less bug is on the top right now is because a lot of people went on the bandwagon, this creating more opportunity for it to place high on tourneys. Shared less having better over all matchup than esper is just a horrible assumption

Deathrite Shaman also makes Wasteland a non-issue. If they're spending their turn 1-2 on killing Deathrite Shaman, that gives you an opening to play Dark Confidant or Stoneforge Mystic. They really don't have that many burn spells. Don't keep hands that lose to Wasteland. Play around Stifle and Daze. side out discard spells and force of will, they do next to nothing. so many of their cards are interchangeable that you're just waiting your time. Use Swords to Plowshares (removal in general) aggressively. You win the long game almost assuredly. The deck has a really tough time with Abrupt Decay, it completely removes the 2 main threats of the deck (Delver and Goyf). The deck can't beat Batterskull either.

If you're playing Force of Will, Discard Spells, or Geist, that might be the problem. I play 2 Thoughtseize and 2 Hymn to Tourach, zero forces or geists, and haven't had much trouble with RUG Delver personally.

Can I get a list? Because I too am playing death lade but I use gost, 3 fow, no bobs, and 2 baleful strix.. A list would help me out a lot thnx

I've been playing stone blade decks in legacy for months now, and when I play in a local tourney, I always lose to rug delver. Idk, I tried playing around wastelands and stiffles, but in the end nimble mongoose and lightning bolts just kill me. I've tried martell's esper stoneblade, Todd and brian duin's deathblade, and I still can't do anything about it. The times that I do win,it's either the pilot is inexperienced with the deck or It will go to time and rounds. I mean how can a stoneblade attrition deck win against a hard tempo deck? It really frustrates me to the point that I wanna trade my duals , Jtms and fetches to build rug delver my self. If anyone here can give details on how to handle rug, it will be appreciated. I know how to play against it in general but they always have an answer for my relevant cards.

I've been playing this deck months ago before anyone in scg started playing it, and people at my shop thought I was crazy for putting bolt and sto together in one deck. Anyways, we have no answer to nimble mongoose, after play testing a lot against rug, it made me realize that eve though we can't get hosed by grave yard hate, we still lose to ni,ble mongoose, unless we board in rip,. But I don't want to consistently to a deck g1, especially to a fair deck.

That's why I put 1 baneslayer angel and 1 Lavinia of the tenth and 3 resto in my mb. Because I would find my self without any threats in mid - late game even though I play 4 geist, which I'm thinking of cutting down one for a venser shaped savant.
