I like the look of that card. Not sure which i would want more, this or Fracturing Gust. Can't wait to try it out.

I have an Invitational Qualifier tomorrow right around the corner from my house. Normally I would play Titan-Shift but I am going to change it up and play this build of Oops, all Gideon. My team and FNM crew have been having a real hard time with my deck and they are playing the most common decks to see currently. Put more or less 50 hours in to play testing getting ready specifically for this and I wanted to show my list. I was still struggling a little bit against combo so I made mostly just SB changes. Tried going to 4 Cast Out and 3 feels more natural. I am still entirely undecided if I should be playing the 4th Gideon, Ally of Zendikar or just keep it with 3. Currently I cut it him back to 3. Not sure if it was just me or not but I felt like he kept clogging my hand in irrelevant times.

Not the biggest changes. I'm finding the discard to be useful against combo decks but not Majority of the field so I trimmed a third thoughtseize and fatal push for Cast Down which has been excellent. Cast Out is another big inclusion. I'm about to test out a 4 th. The early cycle can be really useful post SB when you need to find answers or hit those all important land drops. Its a key player in almost every game I play. Tonight it saved me from saheeli, very late cranial plating, aether grid, jtms and I even got to cast it against infect. The card is excellent and is just so incredibly versatile.

My meta is combo heavy and I feel like I've got a good set of options against them. Valakut can be a little rough so I may include surgical or something to go with the field of ruins. Got tired of playing leylines. They take up so much space.

There is so much more to consider than what you're mentioning. I've played enough with this deck, and magic in general, to know that nothing ever goes exactly how you write it down. This deck is very comparable to BGx. It does a very good job at going 1 for 1 and feels "fair" like goyf decks. We are really a mid range deck if we're being honest and that's where cast out shines. Cast Out wants to be in a deck that is grinding down one stump at a time. If we could deploy threats at a faster rate, sure. I would largely agree with you. Since that is not the case a large majority of our games end up being us widdling theirs and our hands away and then we get a top deck war until someone gets established again.

It's at this point that all your grinding for 20+ minutes for game 1 can be thrown away by any number of cards. Cast Out is like Maelstrom Pulse in our deck since it can hit any problematic permanent, since I'm on the BGx comparison. Our deck is extremely linear in what we do. Since we already have enough creature hate in the deck for all of magic I'm of the opinion that we have to have something that can also deal with cards that aren't just creature's. I'll post the list I've been playing as soon as I remember how to format it correctly for these forums to give you an idea of what I'm personally doing.

That cycle and instant speed removal on any non land permanent isn't something that you get at 2 or 3 Mana. Most builds these days really lack card draw. Cycling for one is decent in itself but when your staring at a Karn exiling your pw's and you draw your 2nd or 3rd copy your gonna be really happy you had it. This deck is entirely based on being slow so I don't think that as much of an issue.

The ideal situation would be cycle early and then cast it 'late' game to deal with cards that this deck cannot deal with game one. Cast Out has so many applications in a deck like this. It's saved me from game 1 karns, ensnaring bridge, bloodmoon, pw ults, top decked platings. I think the card is sweet in this deck! It certainly helped me win fnm last Friday. I think I cast a copy nearly every game. It's real sneaky and it's real versatile, and I'm all about versatility.

What cards am I missing that can fill the gap of draw effect and removing pw's or bloodmoon type card at instant speed and can still be played in the main 60 for game one?

Anyone else try out Cast Out? I'm finding my self really enjoying 3. Cycle is useful in this deck and the instant exile speed is nice when you're dealing with artifacts or Planeswalkers.

I am sure many are aware that mats will do this over time with extensive use for most brands. I've used the same play mat for about 2 years now and my edges are starting to curl up pretty badly on the bottom. Is there anyway to fix this? I was about to try to iron it back to flat but then I was afraid the glue might come off if that's how they are made. Can anyone help me??

We have a faster game plan than deaths shadow, eldrazi tron, and bant. I don't see why one would remove the best sweeper in modern atm for a hard to cast spell like abrupt decay. Titanshift is still putting up the best combo deck results as pure RG in this meta and that alone should say enough about what should be played main board.

There are plenty of decks you're going to sit across from OTHER than death's shadow. It's not good practice to get tunnel vision when your scared of something making headway in the meta. Flocking to a worse game 1 plan against the field as a whole will cost you games. So far I haven't read anything that should convince anyone that push and decay should be played in our MB at the expense of diluting our game 1.

Black belongs in the sideboard only and Prismatic omen is not warranted . Those omens should just be a real ramp spell to put us in the same position that we would be in regardless with the exception that we have actual board advancement in the form of lands. Not an enchantment that doesn't do anything on its own. Omen hasn't been good enough for some time now and that's not really changed now because of a good GBx deck.

Results-wise, Jund Scapeshift just won SCG Worchester classic last week, out of a field of over 300 players

When I created this list about two months ago I went 4-1,4-1,5-0 in competitive leagues. Then 2 weeks ago I won an invitational playoff tournament where 16 qualified players played in a swiss and then top 8. I ended at 26-3 with the deck now before I went on vaccation. Surely it is alot of good runs involved in that small sample, but I wouldn't win many games without Push, Decay, Collective Brutality.

I think if people say that black is unnecessary in the deck or that it creates inconsistencies they have to back up their statements better when the results speak against them.

I just placed in an SCG IQ at 5th with RG titan along with another that got 2nd at the same. I have results under my belt and am beyond confident in what I have said.

What matches warrant running those MB in this debate?

Adding black really isn't that big of an issue unless one is over thinking the additional color. At this point black is solely for g2 and g3. Against Blood Moon decks your black spells are going to be largely irrelevant so you just need to do a small land adjustment.

Swap those windswept for verdant, 1 of 3 forests for a overgrown tomb and 1 of your stomping grounds to a blood crypt. We're only playing black for Engineered Explosives on 3, Fatal Push, and Slaughter Games. Not having a basic swamp isn't a big deal. Blood Moon is highly overrated against titan shift.

I'd suggest getting a combo deck such as Titan-Shift. Fetch Land investment is a good idea along with shock lands. I have my "Win" deck, my "fair" deck and a pet deck that still happens to be tier 2.

  • posted a message on Least Favorite Decks to Play Against?
My LGS players are starting to have a real disdain for playing against me. 9/10 times I'm on RG Titan-Shift and I've been the King of the Hill so to speak for the past few months just about in our meta.

Usually when I sit down it turns into an eye roll fest and players talking about how the round is gonna be pointless for them or along those lines. Makes me feel anxious and a little guilty. I have fun playing magic but I'm mostly in it for the competitive aspect. I'd say there's nothing I really dislike playing against unless I have to sit still for 15 minutes while you rummage through your deck. It's not that lack of interaction that gets to me but the anxiety of just sitting while being, for the most part, silent.

Why did Abzan get moved to tier 2 when it's at the top of the meta? It's the #1 deck atm based off of mtggoldfish and mtgtop8.

Anyone else with a Grixis dominant meta? Autumn's Veil has worked wonders for me g2/3.
