This was a pretty crazy week for us. A lot of exciting stuff. I had a script for the intro skit, but it wasn't very good, so I started again from scratch on the plane to France. Hope you enjoy!
So after what I'd deem our first truly unsuccessful opening skit in Ep. 28, (a bit shark jumpy IMO), we went back to basics and made a pretty straightforward classic WTP for GP Nashville. I think it's clean, funny, tightly woven, and entertaining. And somewhat troll-y too. Hope you enjoy!
Opening sketch stars one of Philly's finest actors, Tony Lawton. Also my old roommates Scott and Beth as the savages. I knew that Beth had all these gross furs in her basement and that they would be psyched to play Temur savages. A match made in heaven. We're actually fairly new to green screen shooting and had to deal with a million problems at the shoot, so the final version is a mangled version of the original script, but I think we got there. Fun times.
As for the Pro Tour, so many great moments. Lee Shi Tian's story is insane. He basically didn't play test at all because he was protesting every day in Hong Kong. Really intense sensitivity with coverage because A. it's not really our place to express political opinions in coverage, and B. Hasbro has a relationship with China that would make championing anti-China causes very bad for WotC. If you remember at the first World Magic Cup, the Taiwanese team that won the event had to go as Chinese Taipei even though they were wearing stickers of the Taiwanese flag on their faces. Pretty crazy stuff.
Also, how about Dave Williams' mind-reading of the Morphs? I wish we could've included more footage from that match. It was insane. It really opened my eyes to how insanely cool Morph cards are.
As always, leave comments/feedback for us to consider for future episodes.

Glad you're enjoying the show! And yes, that was my actual family for the Thanksgiving dinner sketch. When I told them how much the MTG community enjoyed their performances, their response was "that wasn't acting. That was us being ourselves at the dinner table." If you swap out the MTG references with topic X, Y, or Z, that's pretty much what growing up in my house was like.
This is probably the silliest episode yet. I can sit here and tell you I was drawing on the 17th century tradition of the "fop" character archetype as well as the age-old mistaken identity plot device that dates back to ancient Rome. But really it's just a bunch of Kibler gags. Hope you enjoy.
This episode is near and dear to my heart. Hope you enjoy. The coverage team is a bunch of freakazoids and I wanted to share the insanity. Also, there's an Animate Wall joke.
We did a crossover with the LRR boys for this one. Lemme know if you like it. Don't miss Maya Carroll's story in the middle of the video. I found a powerful reminder that Magic can be a lot more than just a hobby. Hope you like it. As always, your criticism and feedback is valuable to me.
