My current decklist is here: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/1958454#paper
I've had a 2-2 finish and a 3-1 finish so far since MH1 came out, but my 2-2 finish was missing Plague engineer and ashiok from the side which would have helped significantly.
As for what I cut for FoF, I never played Jace. I try to keep my 4 costs low though so I have 6 spots split 2/2/2 between cryptic, mistbind, and FoF
Hey Roggers666, you should join the discord!
We have discussed FoN and FoD, there's a lot of ongoing discussions about them as more people are able to test. I'll cover some of the stuff I know that has been covered in the discord that you talked about briefly here though.
Tyrant's Scorn is really good, people are definitely upping on their counts of it specifically for pitching to Force and it feeling similar to Fatal Push and being good removal. People originally were all about Liliana's Triumph and then it fell out of favor fast in favor of targetted removal.
As for filling your hand again - play Fact or Fiction. A lot of people are on FoF specifically for this reason. It's a mid/late-game play, but a late-game draw 2-3 is really impactful.
As for the bridgevine issue - Surgical doesn't do enough. You need something like Ravenous Trap or Leyline to really interact with them quick enough. It's tough, but people are hopeful that Leyline might get reprinted in the upcoming core 2020 set.
Phoenix isn't a bad MU, you just gotta be smart with how you play things out. If you take in surgical, it's pretty nice to just eat their Phoenixes sometimes.
If you have further questions I would 100% direct them to the discord, the link to it is in the post just above yours.
So, here's a list I made about the reprints we're getting and those we can't get anymore. I know some of these won't see the light of day by any mean (True-Name Nemesis, Wasteland ...) but I'm going purely with the Number Crunch approach. If it can fit, I listed it.
Obviously the list is FAR from exhaustive. But at least we can get an idea of what we can - and cannot- get in MH1.
I'm here thanks to unity, with just one suggestion right now. Why aren't you running a card like Gurmag Angler? That card flipped off of Yuriko can be a DEVASTATING blow to your opponent.
I have been reading what Kat Light ( ranked #2 with bant spirits at SCG team open) wrote about the T2 3cmc drop, and she belives that's what the deck is supposed to do. In order to do this, she was running additional copies of Birds of paradise.
In my opinion, the problem with bant will be about cutting mana creatures. If you are cutting birds and do not hit hierarch then the deck is just a worse version than UW untill you get 4 lands to play CoCo.
Just my feeling though.
I've seen her list and based a few of my choices off of it. I would think that with the 2 drop lord being a thing, we might change slightly from the 6 mana dork lists. I might be wrong in thinking that, but if I'm proven wrong I'm totally ok with that. I'm just doing my best to experiment with what I think could be the most powerful things to do right now given that the lord still won't be legal in modern for a while
Currently thinking Bant is the way to go since we didn't get any more spirits, but who is to know going into the future with RTRTR coming up, there could be some potential spirits from orzhov/azorius (maybe) that could be great for us.
I just think coco and hierarch are too good to not be using, especially when you can turn 2 a geist of saint traft which really helps this deck race.
I would still wait to see, unfortunately. I think right now the better choice might be Hierarch/Coco but the vial version still could be very very viable depending on what comes up with the rest of spoilers. I think there's still over 100 cards left, and I don't know how much longer we have spoilers for. If you're willing to wait, I would wait to see before pulling the trigger on the off chance there are more playables spoiled and then you could really make a better decision based on that.
This is a rough idea for a mainboard going off of the new spoiler, now. I want to write up a bant one as well so I'll work on something for that too. I'm not entirely sure how to approach a sideboard for the deck so I'll wait to see how things might turn out after the rest of the spoilers since there seems to be some spirit tribal support (maybe could be a good 1 drop?)
Alright, how does this change the deck now? This seems like a pretty big deal. I would assume there's no need for Favorable Winds anymore, but there's definitely a need for some Phantasmal Image now with this on top of Drogskol Captain. Guess I need to start snagging foils quick before this deck takes too much notice with support
Are there any up to date UW and Bant lists that I might be able to check out? I've been contemplating playing this archetype for a while now and I feel like now might be a good time to jump into it as there's a continuing lack of support for the deck I particularly enjoy playing the most.
LOL I will never get why Wizards keeps printing nothing for faeries, if i was a faerie player i would be tremendously pissed. I'm also hoping them to be something in modern as i love tribal decks.
I guess you'll have fun with spirits however as we share with faeries a similar playstyle.
Today I have gone 4-1 again on MTGO friendly league with my usual UW list, winning against burn, mardu tokens, ponza, storm, and losing to jund. Discard spells + attrition still the best strategy against us. New entry is phyrexian unlife, as I said, which works as silver bullet against burn.
Jund is like a 50/50 for my current deck so I'll take a kinda meh matchup against it. I played Spirits back when it was in standard and I loved it, so I'm hoping this will be nice. Casual leagues are probably not a great way of judging the meta, but that's a great record to have.
Can't wait for Core Set to turn Relics and Rip into that aggressive graveyard hate card, so I can hopefully improve a bit my win %.
This list is having above average results however, the 2 x curious obsessions are shining every single time I get to play them, I'll have to give the 3rd one a shot because of the amount of advantage these tools bring is something I can't ignore.
I have been attending 3 mtgo friendly leagues since last friday (when i updated the list with the obsessions) and the record is 13-2 (every league allows you to play 5 matches, just to make it clear). I will move to competitive leagues in the near future to measure myself against more skilled players.
- Btw, after that crappy spirit being spoilered today i started thinking that we'll either get periodic additions with core sets, or that wizards is about to bring some spirits in standard. They did declare in an inteview that core sets are a tool they'll use for this kind of injections in tribal decks, but if more spirits will be spoilered, then I'll start beliving they are setting the field for some more robust spirit presence in the following sets.
The graveyard hate card made me want to play this deck a little bit more. I was going to ask about Favorable Winds vs Curious Obsession, would you rather just have 4 obsession?
I don't think the other spirit that got spoiled is crappy, necessarily. It's a budgeted option for competitive lists, sure, but it gets hexproof from Drogskol Captain and can be a 3/3 which is nothing to scoff at.

May i ask why you playing drowned catacombs instead of darkslick shores ? im just curious about reasoning
I personally play only 1 Drowned Catacombs and 3 Darkslick Shores. There are a few lists on the guide that run the full 4 Darkslick, but I found myself commonly having issues with lands coming into play untapped in the late-game and wanted to avoid that if possible by throwing in a catacomb instead of the 4th darkslick. One thing to note, most of the other lists also run 5-6 island/swamps (including watery grave), while personally, my deck runs 8 (5 islands, 1 swamp, 2 watery graves). This means that my Drowned Catacombs is coming in untapped nearly every single time. I'm also a lot less black heavy on my casting costs. The link in my signature to my deck (in the visual view) gives you a nice idea of my curve and how blue heavy I am vs. how black heavy I am.
Edit: I realize now you were talking to FaeKeeler, but my comments still stand if you're interested why I use it too
Read this if you're honestly interested. I've made it with the help of the Faeries discord and it covers nearly (if not) everything in the deck, and has example decklists which include Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
Best of luck, if you have any questions/comments feel free to leave them on the docs page, as I try and update it as frequently as I can.

I still would hope to see Riptide Laboratory which hasn't been ruled out.
