this was an early build. i have since then taken out the swamps for birchlore rangers. this was a g/b cimbo deck for modern b4 i transitioned it into a legacy deck. as for the cradles i cant currently afford them. however i do have a line on a couple bayous at a really good price and plan on picking them up.
depends on ur meta really. i personal would keep ruric thar and cut the garruk or the archers from the sideboard instead.would also add another natural order in the side for the moments that u want to get that more often. as for the main board i think its a bad idea to cut a creature for a land. i would cut a nissa for the pendelhaven to be honest.
alright gang, i have a deck in the works and would appreciate feedback that i can recieve about the deck. im making the transition from modern B/G Elves into legacy
Sideboard
2x [[Pithing Needle]]
2x [[Thoughtseize]]
1x [[Scavenging Ooze]]
1x [[Thrun, the Last Troll]] (going to be replaced with [[Progenitus]])
1x [[Ruric Thar, the Unbowed]]
2x [[Surgical Extraction]]
4x [[Abrupt Decay]] (going to replace 1 with a [[Natural Order]])
1x [[Beast Within]] (going to be replaced with [[Reclamation Sage]])

to dice_bag i want to say thank you. i enjoyed reading ur primer. also thank you to the whole combo elf community. i have identified the pieces i want to get moving forward thru the experiences and posts about their deck. it helped a lot in deciding what i think will work. eventually i plan on posting my deck list that i am working on building. after catching up with the group i feel like that i should just put that out there.
so im about to make the switch from modern combo elves to legacy, i am currently going to run [[beck//call]] instead of glimpses. i also plan on adding deathrites, rangers, birchwood elves to the deck. along with green sun instead of chord of calling. any other surgestions to change out for legacy build? i do want to get natural orders just havent had the funds yet
I think modern doesn't need any more bannings.. it seems to be a well diverse play and no one deck is dominating the format. Actually I think they should look into unbanning some cards. Banning cards because they are heavey used, for example lightning bolt, would be stupid choice by wizards.
I have decided to reset my zoo deck.. I have discovered that I have over tuned my deck to be inefficient. I have went back to my Naya Roots and plan on continuing with naya if/when I am going to get goyfs. Thank you Modern Masters 2 reprinting them, I don't know you guys but I am excited. I do have three slots in my sideboard currently open and can't decide what to put into the deck. I currently have leyline of punishment in the spot for life gain, but I have also thought about Vexing Shusher in the side board. what do you all think?
Vexing Shusher is fine. Modern isn't really dominated by control decks though. Regardless, You probably shouldnt run 4 rancor. When I was into rancor I was using 4 ghorclan, 2 rancor.

Hello, I have been working on multiple decks from Zoo to a modern version of the popular standard deck of Green/Red Monsters. I saw the standard deck on youtube and was driven to try to make a deck with it, mainly because it allowed me to dig up my Primeval Titans. I wiil post what I brewed up and any advice will be welcomed. So please check it out and let me know what you think.
This was created because I wanted to use Primeval Titan, as you already know, but it seemed like something that could use a planeswalker superfriends. I normally only had one planeswalker in a deck, and this seemed to be a great deck to work with not 2 but 3 in the mainboard with a 4th in the sideboard. The deck seems to be fun in testing so far, and seems like it could possibly be competitive as well. A perfect blend that magic players look for. So please let me know what you think and what you think should be done with the deck.
I was hopeing on getting my hatebears/death and taxes build up to snuff so I could run it at my local tourney. Please if you have any feedback it will be most thankful. Thanks.
Friday I went to the tourney and went 2-1 for the night and took second with Dark Zoo. I felt bad because I pretty much made a little kid cry and a woman angry with the deck. I played against mono green devotion that my removal was key while I beat in for damage, I ended up going 2-0 for the match. The next round I went 1-2 against blue/white tron, which I had no clue how to sideboard for it. I tried to control him as much as I could but that no good, he was able to out grind and get Iona. The Third match was against black/white enchantment, Doran, the Siege Tower did some work in this match. Allow me to go 2-0 with the extra damage from my Kird Apes andLoam Lions.
It looks interesting I need to grab myself a playset of Courser of Kruphix.. I am in the process of making four color control (black, green, red, and white, who needs to have blue to do control) and I need that for grabbing all of that manas.
I have updated the deck... at first I was thinking about having Voice of Resurgence in for the counter magic match up. I don't have Qasali Pridemage in the deck because in my meta it a dead draw really since no one runs blood moon in my local meta. I added a play set of Wild Nacatl into the deck, I didn't think I would be having the right mana to have it be at full power. So far in testing that hasn't been a problem. As for Doran, the Siege Tower I think it would be awesome tech no one is expecting, well except the person that I have been play testing with. I think Lantern had it right in his Siege Zoo videos, no one expects Doran. But it really helps because it makes the deck better. It helps you in the mirror, against other decks that run Siege Rhino by making your rhino do 5 instead of 4 damage, plus it makes Kird Ape; and Loam Lion better by doing one damage as well. Let's not forget it also takes Cranial Plating and craps on it, which is a pretty big piece for Affinity. I also have taken out a Godless Shrine for a Kessig Wolf Run and intrigued to test with it along with another Knight of the Reliquary to the main board.
