At the very least, Fat Packs should have cardboard deck boxes that are big enough to HOLD SLEEVED CARDS. It is insane to me that WotC puts those crappy cardboard deck boxes in their fat packs and these boxes are not big enough to hold sleeved cards. Ridiculous!
For me, sleeves were only something I used after I became competent at magic, which the target audience for fat packs isn't. Have you ever seen a competitive player open a fat pack?

i 100% disagree that moxes are more casual than marath, of course, but since this guy stopped playing in 99 and started again playing with his 9 years old nephew, i can't blame him for having a weird/different/crazy opinion about power level.

well, seeing your love for old cards and a casual environment, try to make your own house format. a sort of anti-modern variant of commander, where everything after X set is illegal and try to see how much friend get interested.
Many friends would be correct, but I would assume from the content of your post that you don't care about the quality of your words.
You could try running answers to cards, but I guess that's too much work. You could try building a deck that doesn't care about marath, but that would be cheesy. You could also quit magic, which is what I recommend if you object to perfectly fair cards.

For me personally, all it would take for me to get into modern are making the banlist less substantial- this would mean both unbanning cards and looking at the banlist differently. Rather than looking at it the way yugioh does- a way to refresh the format every few months- looking at it as a way to eliminate a certain overpowered card or strategy as a last resort.

Very true. But when my other hobbies all cost literally 10 times as much as Magic costs me, it helps put thing into perspective. Season tickets for the 49'ers at their new stadium next year are going for $3000. A buddy of mine spent $2000 on a titanium exhaust for his car a few months ago. My dad just bought an ATV for $12,000.
In the grand scheme of things, for the amount of playtime most people get out of Magic (not to mention messing around on forums, deck building, etc), it is a very cheap hobby.

2-3 times per year WotC should have a Modern Game Day to encourage the Modern format. Modern Game Day would work just like regular Game Day, only with a full art Modern staple given to all participants and a foil full art Modern staple to top 8. A playmat with artwork from a popular Modern card is 1st prize.
Obviously, this Game Day would be for Modern decks only.
This would cost Wizards very little and encourage the format greatly.
Make Modern Masters an every-other-year thing, but give it a print run like a CORE set
People would play to draft, cards would be available at reasonable prices, and standard wouldn't be affected. Modern as a constructed format would indirectly see a high bump.

I drank Dew and other sugary sodas for years, but then I discovered Coke Zero and eventually the pinnacle of delight- Cherry Coke Zero. Now I drink far too much of it, and can't even stand Classic Coke or Mt. Dew because they are way too sweet (though I will occasionally drink a Diet Dew).
The best deal though is store brand Sparkling Seltzer water, since you can pick up a 12 pack for $3, and you have a cheap hydrating beverage that also has a little zing of carbonation. You want Seltzer Water not Club Soda, because Club Soda has a lot of sodium in it which will make you even more thirsty. I am not a big fan of flavored seltzer water, but I will drink it in a pinch. If I am craving more flavor I prefer to add Seltzer to juices.
If I really want a treat I will get large bottle of Orangina, but it is even a tad too sweet for me sometimes, so I will pour off about 12 oz into a water bottle, then top off the Orangina bottle with Seltzer to cut the sweet a bit. I will then add a little Seltzer to what I poured off.
I could never stand coke. It was so sugary, my teeth felt incredibly gritty after I drank any.
1) I have never set foot in a game store.
2) I have never bought a sealed pack ever (except for one $17 intro toolkit when I first started)

I know that it is a little expensive, but it could have competetive potential. Anyway, consider the alternative is playing BR zombies, delver or RG aggro, all of which cost more than this deck.
