-Hell's Caretaker: Sheoldred Takes that slot of recursion.
-Kuon. In order to trigger takes too much.
+Smokestack
-Noxious Ghoul: Never really worked well enough for me in the past with the deck.
-Profane Command: No matter what I want to do with the card, there are other cards in the deck that do it better and cheaper.
-Phyrexian Ghoul: Nantuko Husk is the same card
-Boneknitter: Zombie Master delivers better.
-Sadistic Sacrament: As much fun as this card is, it doesn't fit in with the deck.
Total number of added cards: 120
Total number of questioned slots:
Needed to drop: 20
I'll add my 2cents on this one. Literally the only buffer worth it is blade of the bloodchief as it acts like a localised doubling season for thrax! and even then there might be better options.
The auras are raw card disadvantage in a deck like this, your looking for sac outlets that do something on their own without thrax, none of those do that particularly well. If you want to go the voltron route there are better options out there.
As for tombstone stairwell... The sheer number of tokens this spits out is pretty insane. Add in the fact that you are built to abuse them with sacrifice means this is probably your best way to pump thrax. Add in vicious shadows and you're golden.
Interestingly I've been thinking about these myself, cards that I shouldn't run in my decks, or cards others in the group run as they've been complained about:
humility - there are so few answers to it that aren't really narrow, yes i know Austere Command is a thing and board resets too, but isn't that the point of playing humility anyway, to slow down the table and buying you time.
survival of the fittest - tutoring slows the game down, tutoring every turn makes people want to kill them selves
deadeye navigator - too many good things to recur, sure you can respond to the soul bond trigger, but by the time this guy gets played, most of the spot removal has been and gone.
sol ring, mana crypt - the games that feature these turn 1 are radically different to the ones that don't.
ulamog, the infinite gyre - "I will not attack with him I promise you" "you just wiped my board, I've still got Ulamog, take him to the face"
warp world - mainly because it absolutely destroys the planeswalker decks - I'd call it reasonable protection, what about you?
laboratory maniac - sure, he's easy to kill, he's not easy to kill if the owner of the card also has Teferi out and play lab maniac in response to decking himself.
That gives me an idea of wearing the Dimir Shirt under another shirt. If anyone asks me about my shirt, I'll lift my finger to my mouth and go "shhhhh" while I lift up my shirt to reveal the dimir shirt underneath it.
Genius, though they'll either laugh, or run away screaming...
I'd be happy to help any way I can. PM me if you want to talk further.
On to the questions:
For DeckTechs:
How in-depth into the card choices and strategy?
Personally - I like in depth from a "this is how I originally intended to use it, this is how I am now using it, this is how I've seen other people use it" but will depend entirely on deck style - commander for example with 60+ individual cards (not including land) this could take a while.
Should I discuss other possible choices such as color splashes and alternate card choices?
To get the most from your audience I'd have a look at budget versions as well as premium versions of decks. Talking about additional colour splashes could change the deck fundamentally and may need another deck tech. If it was "these 52 cards represent the deck perfectly, here's what you could do with the final 8" that could work really well.
Overall video length.
Sub 10 minutes means more views when it comes to commentary/deck techs - although, if it is a longer video, time codes to relevant sections of it might be useful: lands 2:10, instants 3:00 etc.
What combination of the following is most desirable?
These I would say are situational depending on the video. Magic Rap Battles need music... Deck techs probably need live commentary/narration in post-production.
-
Live footage/photos
Card images during post - this is a must for me, possibly the only one that is a definite.
Live narration
Narration in post
Music
Are jokes wanted/unwanted?
Depends what you mean - personal anecdotes then yeah definitely.
Not so much:
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To shoot himself because the guy on youtube isn't funny.
Should I post to various online primers for further investigation by the viewer?
In the descriptions, also always link sources, also subscriber driven content can save a butt load of work if you do it right.
For Gameplay:
Live life totals or ones added in post?
Post
Use live audio or add discussion in post?
Mixture depending on video
Overall video length, keeping in mind EDH as well as Constructed.
MTGO or Paper? Sub 30 minutes for both. Possibly just highlights for long games and also only post 1 game per video o think.
Would highlights be preferred or full gameplay? Ah should have read this bit.
Should I post accompanied DeckTechs? (It goes without saying that decklists will be in the description)
this is a cool idea. Just a separate video. Make playlists a thing.
Should I add card images when a card is played in post?
Definitely, definitely. Will help newer players and get more subs, nothing worse than having to stop half way through to check gatherer a to what a card does.
For General Discussion:
General video length.
No more than 10 minutes unless set review. Could change set review up, covering all of the commons in green one video, uncommons etc. would make finding videos easier.
Is it better to have guests?
Depends who they are. Finkel? Sure. Random guy from FNM maybe not, unless you are doing a deck tech on the guy who won.
Should it be one strict topic or a flowing discussion?
Have a list of things you want to cover and just be aware of the time. Free flowing discussion is fine, you don't have to include it all, could be edited out in post.
Are full set reviews something that would be liked?
Always, MagicShow set reviews are some of my favourite videos, however that's because they have a metric ton of knowledge between them. Plus theyre funny.
Then got 8 more enchantments that killed two players and would seal me the game next turn.
Opponent: I'm going to lose aren't I?
Me: yep, got anything to deal with it? (Knowing that he hasn't)
Opponent: nope (reveals hand shows lands and a creature) lets see what I draw anyway. Flips planar cleansing off the top...
I nearly flip the table... I don't though, was epic. I still had a way to kill him with honden of infinite rage, honden of cleansing fire, honden of seeing winds (through using scroll rack and furnace of rath. It'd be slow but it could work. He was at 24 life. I had 7 cards in my library, only one of which was an enchantment (an irrelevant one) so I'd have to stack my triggers properly to kill him and not die to my own draw. Then he plays soul warden followed by the creature from his hand from earlier to seal the deal and survive at 1 life as I decked myself. Great game though.
I'm more of BUG kind of guy, sure I miss out on Elspeth, but other than that I'm not fussed.
BUG hits everything, from tutoring, to destruction, to being win conditions on there own (I'm looking at you Vraska) it also has the best suite for recursion, and of course features doubling season and gilder Bairn, not to mention Ramp which most planeswalker decks seriously need.

That'll do for now, interestingly not many creatures on the list.
Also CMDR decks deck techs aren't too bad a format to follow, but SCG and Wizards own are pretty good.
