as far as land destruction there is goblin ruinblaster. idk how well he fits in here but he is pretty good in a shamanism deck that runs bosk banneret.

obviously you have really been liking the into the roils since your upping it to 4x. in my illusions deck, partly because of illusory angel, I use snap.
I am usually happy to see it in my opening hand with or without illusory angel. have you tried this card?

have you tried knight of the reliquary? it gets really big really fast. i actually prefer it to eternal dragon. how about edge of autumn? it allows turn 3 wraths, and wall of blossoms is currently your only turn 2 play(outside of cycling). if you were to add these flagstones of trokair fits in. also, i prefer life of the loam to tilling treefolk, but my build consists of significantly less cycle lands than your build and no fluctuator, so i need the dredge ability while you may not.

Oh. and the edge of autumn will fix your problem of needing lands that produce only one type of mana as you will be searching for temple gardens.

    have you tried gempalm incinerator?

cycling it does not set off standstill or hesitation, and it would clear the field for your lackeys and instigators

  • posted a message on Ebay started charging fees on shipping
personally, i think ebay needs to ban, or at least suspend sellers, more regularly. it sounds to me like all those clowns listing at cheap prices but with ludicrous shipping ruined it for everyone. either that or they just gave ebay an excuse to make this change.

about a month ago i won an auction for a playset of cavern of souls for $50. the seller re-listed the item and flat out told me he wasn't going to send it for that low price. after complaining to ebay multiple times, ebay promised me that if the seller kept doing this a couple times in a short period of time he could get suspended.

my personal story is extreme, but the fact remains that if ebay straight up banned users like my seller or clowns that look for loopholes in other ways buyer experience would be much more positive and there would be no need make new policy screwing legitimate sellers.

I also agree that the counter magic seems out of place here. I'm not sure blue is necessary in this deck. and your mana base would certainly be less complicated without it. there is a new alara aggro deck in the budget super series blog that has a deck similar to yours but more straight forward. it's found here.

i think the deck is pretty cool and am actually in the process of building it myself. best part about it is that there are a bunch of the hybrid mana creatures like bant sureblade, naya hushblade, and marisi's twinclaws, but all of them can be played using just white and green mana. another benifit to this is that they are all pumped twice by wilt-leaf liege.

I know its a little bit of a different direction for your deck but at the very least maybe you can get draw some idea's out of it.

EDIT: oh, and by the way. I disagree about needing card draw. your better off using your turns working toward killing your opponent. plus, you can make this deck cheaper without the current card draw you have. horizon canopy, remand and detention sphere(doesn't draw cards but still replaceable) are the most/only costly parts of the deck all can all be taken out to improve the deck.

the cards i can remember first playing with are kjeldoran warrior, sabretooth tiger and keldon warlord. but those cards i liked solely because of the pictures. this was when i was using magic cards as many kids would use army men.

I remember getting into playing actual magic by reading sample games from the players guides i had. on a side note, my mom got me my first magic cards because she heard about the game from a radio show. i believe on npr. she passed on some great advise that she heard too. don't trade with the older kids because they know more and will rip you off.

EDIT: how could i forget. Fireball

what ever happened to switching out the krenko's commands and dragon fodders for mogg war marshal's. they are pretty close to strictly better. they're really efficient with goblin grenade.

how have the teetering peaks been working out for you? I usually dont like lands that come in tapped. if you were gonna go that route though, idk how effective it would be but spinerock knoll would be fun. when playing a spinerock knoll you would have a 48% chance of finding a krenko, mob boss, seige gang commander, predator dragon or voracious dragon. it gets activated fairly easily with all the burn your playing. goblin burrows is another option to replace teetering peaks. i probably would go with more plain old mountains. but if you want a little fun with your lands maybe only 2 teetering peaks or utility land.

  • posted a message on U/R "Mind Control" Counter Burn
idk if your staying away from old cards but i think control magic is the way to go if using mind control cards. plus, its dirt cheap, 43 cents for the tcg low. on a similiar note why not go with old fashion counterspells over dissipate. also if your having trouble getting swarmed maybe fade away will help.

traitorous blood is the only card you have which needs double red mana. maybe another card with a threaten effect needing only a single red mana could help your mana curve allowing you to need less duals.

I have a deck like this though its more focused on getting out dragons then goblins. my deck includes multiples of urza's incubator, and dragonspeaker shaman along with spawning breath, skirk prospector and seething song to power out dragons like predator dragon, tarox bladewing, voracious dragon, and rorix bladewing. I also use assault strobe to help for one turn kills, which is the best part about using dragons.

i would suggest you go for all goblins with voracious dragon as a win-con or use cards which will make for explosive turns out of no where, meaning ditch thunder-thrash elder. without haste or evasion it will likely not lead to much damage. I recommend some combination of voracious dragon, predator dragon, clickslither, or goblin chieftain.

If you go the goblins route, without getting into the more expensive cards, gempalm incinerator and goblin goon seem to fit your deck.

you may want to consider distortion strike, one or two lava dart, and spell pierce as a counter. I would reconsider on reverberate, swerve, and red sun's zenith. reverberate seems good but without adding some more expensive lands its gonna be hard to use.

you want to make a deck thats good against your friend but also competitive vs other decks don't you. if not, run perish. i think you have way to many mass creature removal and your not using red very well. if you want to run so much mass removal you may as well play mono black control. if you go this route vampire hexmage can take care of planeswalkers. almost any deck that uses lightning bolt will want to use a full four of them. of the red cards you have i would use four lightning bolts and some number of blightning. if your worried about playing creature decks flametounge kavu works well, so does arc trail.

neither royal assassin or shambling remains seem like good fits here. i'm not sure hypnotic specter does either even though i love that card.

it would have been nice if they considered all rares the same for this set and went no mythic rares. all the rares are playable at the least, and they are all reprints. many of which come from an era before mythic rares. then again, i dont get/agree with the idea behind mythic rares anyway.

  • posted a message on central nj looking for playing partners
hello. I live in central NJ (Princeton) and am looking for people to trade and play with. I started to get back into collecting about two years ago but have no one to play with except my brother when I can force him into a game. I have about 30 decks, with new and old cards. Because of my weird work schedule, where I work weekday nights and weekend days it's impossible for me to play organized mtg. Looking for anyone willing to meet up locally during the day, any weekday.
