Yeah but beign repeatable is relevant. Standard sometimes is very grindy format where people win on tbe back of pws ults, or mass manipulating for 3 targets, or creating a token army with fueld of the dead with nothing but ramp spells and even mono-red used to play 4x of experimental frenzy.
Repeatable reanimation by turn 5 is totally worth the try for as long as you can fill your graveyard more or less safely by that point.
I think the card has shot in standard if Grixis Reanimator gets gets more creature support, like more competitive looters and such. Playing this for BB on turn 5 is quite powerful and splashy enough to make you work for it.
Not likely to be a tier 1 but could be a fun surprise dexk to bring to FNM.
Linden only looks bad... she could be quite good in the future. Thats because her ability triggers multiple times and that sort of thing is asking to be exploited.
You are forgetting Pauper is now a sanctioned & supported format. It will happen sooner than you think. Don't settle for crap commons, it lets WotC off the hook.
Pauper being a sanctioned format does not mean every single common will be designed with that format in mind. Commons are designed with limited in mind as well as being filler cards for kitchen table. If all commons are amazing it's unlikely that acquiring a few extra cards will improve your deck.
Again, I find it strange that a payoff common is the place they decided to go safe but them I had not considered blue/white in general has artifacts matters theme. Making this generally too good would hurt that archetype.
Because WotC has to print chaff/filler cards to flush out a set.
The only way that could possibly work is if it were base 0/0, which is much less flexible.
I believe he means it starts as a base 2/2 THEN gets 3 +1/+1 counters. Which still wouldn't be all that powerful, even at common. As the card stands, its chaff for 99% of constructed decks.
You're asking for a colorless 5/5 for 3. Good luck getting that at common.
You can get a 5/5 creature for one mana at common. Gurmag Angler
Sure, let's ignore the fact that you still have to delve for 6 and each delve makes the next one harder 5/5 for CCC at common will not happen anytime soon.
With that said, I think a 3/3 is not really a good payoff for going mono-color. But I guess either the 2/3 or 3/2 would already be too much for common. Maybe they should have thrown some trinket text or a weaker keyword like vigilance ? 3/3 Vigilance looks like a fair payoff at common and 3 2/2 vigilance still is pretty bad.
This cycle looks atrocious specially after the overall very successful CCDD cycle in GRN block were all cards were great in limited and some of then were very good in standard.
And for this one not even the flavor salvages the card. Mardu knights is a terrible idea that I'm sure people will hate because while some red and black knights here and there are nice to depict knights who fails the ideal, when you make then Mardu the white knights becomes the exception and not the rule.
Freaking awesome. White was really, really needing this in standard. Although I still think post-rotation the format is getting ridiculously light on counter spells, specially stuff that cost 2 mana and catch many things.
Looks like the format is going to boil down to lightning fast and aggressive decks and decks with over the top synergies like elemental, golos and gates.
Maybe not, 7 is so much lol

Its either a good 2drop + combat trick or removal w/ lifegain. And its in a relevant tribe ! Good package.
Plus, standard playable too in cavalcade decks.

What an uncommon... Just wow.

Sometimes in limited certain cards being weaker makes the archtype more consistent.
