I think both of you would like death and taxes. The deck has quickly evolved recently with the addition of thalia, and it is a fun, skill intensive deck with multiple interactions, ranging from vial tricks, stacking abilities via karakas or flickerwisp, and mana denial and aggro. It's all there.

Thanks, I'll try it out. If you have a recommendation of cheap lists, that'd be nice.

Hey guys! I want to join the legacy scene, but I seem to struggle on finding the right deck to buy first. I want a deck that is fairly competitive, and is actually interesting to play. (not to mention, is cheap!)

so, I'm down to my last few options

Mighty Quinn: I have no idea how to play it, but it looks interesting atleast

Death and Taxes: Seems interesting, and it's mono-white

CountertopMiracles: I already have the miracles and the counterbalances. The dual lands and fetches are a problem. The 2 sb moats are a BIIIIIG problem.

    What I like in decks:
quirkyness. I like mightyquinn because it is a mono-white control deck (that I have no idea how to play!). Death and Taxes, mono-white, seems fun. Countertop miracles, because Miracles is my favorite deck of all time (and countertop is so much fun once you get it off!).

So basically, I want quirky. If aggro, I like small creatures (preferably no Mom, she is overused, but I wouldn't object to playing her). If control, I'd like something preferably on the "10 drops everywhere" side or the "no blue colour goes here" side.

here's my list. I looked at a basic modern deck, and I also looked at innistrad for cards it think deal with major creatures of the meta, here's what I got.

You'll notice feeling of dread. That's just for aggro decks, it's pretty good against them, and it clears the way for geist of saint traft. You will also notice thunderbolt. It deals with restoration angel, or it is 3 damage to their face. We' d much rather thought scour it, and then draw a dissipate. Syncopate is card I am rather dissapointed with, so I have decided to run dissipate instead. Why dissipate? Because it's less mana intensive than counterflux. If judge's familiar becomes a commons sideboard tool, I'd change it to counterflux. I prefer izzet charm to azorious charm, because we're already running unsummon. Azorious charm is a much more important card in the zombies matchup, as 2 life = the difference between life and death (and a 3/2 flier with lifelink for U is pretty good).

    sideboard:
    1 erase
    1 divine verdict
    1 feeling of dread
    2 azorious charm
    2 pillar of flame
    2 bonfire (for swarmy decks)
    2 judge's familiar
    3 negate (for control)
1 essence scatter (for more creature heavy decks)

Hey everyone, I've recently wanted to build a legacy deck, but the problem was all of the decks looked really expensive (are they are!). After realizing this, I went to the drawing board. Realizing control was too expensive in this format, I decided that aggro would be the way to go. I also hate playing mono-red, so that was out. So, in this deck is basically W/R 20/20/20 (a pauper archetype, 20 lands, 20 spells, 20 creatures in mono red). I don't play it, but I figured it'd be really good in 2 colours, as I can exile stuff and have access to really good 1 drops, I also have access to Thalia, and then I will have access to Judge's Familiar once RTR is legal for tournament play (a 1/1 mana tithe with flying, I don't see many drawbacks). Also, Isamaru is a solid one drop. Red burns faces, and vexing devil also burns faces, and lightning helix burns faces. Basically, bash you for 2 or 4 (or even 6 each turn), control with burn, or I just outright burn your face if you're too slow. Not the best deck, but I think it works pretty well. I'd really like some solid reviews of this, as I intend to buy it, and I don't know if I'm missing any cards that would be absolutely key to victory. Thanks :3

SB: 3 Disenchant (enchantress, artifacts, countertop, goblins)
SB: 3 Path to Exile (Maverick and sneak and show)
SB: 3 Red Elemental Blast (sneak and show)
SB: 3 Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (storm)
SB: 2 Proclamation of Rebirth (if I see spot removal)
