Not much talk about Magic in this thread though, sooooo....
No kidding, and it is the same people, every, single, time. When context is out the window, people will find a reason to rage on this forum for no reason. Brings a good laugh every time I see it though.
When being called a racist is worse than engaging in racism...well, no wonder why we still have problems <shrug>
Of course, people find fault where there is none, redefine words to fit their warped understanding, and then make serious accusations where there shouldn't be, as if they thrive off of contention...
Point proven to TheOnlyOne652089! No wonder why we still have problems.
Seriously, freaking kudos to bobthefunny for having to deal with so much stupidity on this forum, let alone this thread.
The two who are losing their collective composure are both activists. It's not going to merit rational discussion. They'll flag any opposition as 'hate speech' or 'trolling/flaming' and find new reasons to become repetitively triggered. Wizards dropped the ball on the new set and I hope we get something more than just check box planeswalkers and legends.
Never has a comment been more true on this site, and why I just don't care to make comments anymore myself really.
I was initially bothered when I saw this card, but thinking of all it's uses in the decks that I am building and using, it isn't AS great as I originally thought. It is comparable to Mox Amber with it's use in commander, and highly specific. If you get it in you opening hand, cool, if not, if can be used later for commander tax as I stated on the first page of this thread. It only has it's intended use towards paying for your commander to come out, but honestly, that's it. What makes Black Lotus amazing is that it can be used for anything in the game, which is why Lion's Eye Diamond is so powerful as well in many formats. The greater the reach that the card can contribute with varied formats, will better state how powerful a card is. This card is frankly not as powerful as the hype around it is generating, and I am going to be patiently waiting until long after the release of this set for it's price to drop heavily before I pick one up.
Indeed.
What makes this even more broken is that mana can also be divided up to cast two different commanders with partner during the same phase
Does the game also track the mana's condition beyond the phase if not spent right away?
For example, if the lotus is cracked with Omnath, locus of mana or Kruphix, god of horizons in play (or used partially to cast one of them), can any leftover mana be used during subsequent phases (or turns) on something other than commander casting costs? Technically, with Kruphix out the colorless mana left over isn't even the same mana as the colored mana created by the lotus previously, right?
Interesting question. With Horizon Stone in the set I imagine this will need to be addressed.
SonofaBith75 answered that earlier on this thread. Infact on the same page...
I dunno, this card doesn’t do a whole lot for commanders like Zur the Enchanter or Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim,
or any deck where the commander is not ever played.
Other than obvious mana fixing, one of these would also contribute a long way towards commander tax as well...
Alright, alright, alright!...
I am coming for you...

Was that what Jeweled Lotus was referencing? I somehow didn't catch that. Weird.
Joking aside, I am genuinely happy with this card...
