I had my fingers crossed so hard for Garruk. But this one isn't for us.
On the other hand, I've been jamming games with Xenegos (haven't got my hands on Ajani V yet...) and have been surprised. Turn three outburst for three dumb dumbs, turn four Xenegos, add a hasty satyr, swing, turn five all the mana you could ask for.
Turn four, after three cyclers, he also adds enough mana to drop a Fulminator...
In the past I've run Timely Reinforcements against burn. It worked out pretty well. Between fetches and pale recluse it's not hard to grab white for turn three.
never considered that option before. have you used it against blue white red control?
The thought hadn't crossed my mind...but countering a bolt/snap/bolt and putting three dudes on the table is spicy...
I wonder if lingering souls has any merit against control decks...

Crossing my fingers for the new Garruk...
Shriekmaw should take care of Eidolon of the Great Revel. Evoke doesn't trigger damage right?
I'm wondering what life gain belongs in the sideboard that has game against other decks.
Courser is interesting...
Bow of Nylea has been alright...
Burn is a tough match up...
Yeah, Garruk and Xenagos can both be bolted after the relevant activation. Domri at least survives and potentially nets you card advantage. The three drop spot is pretty cluttered though...
Been on living end for the last two years. Moving forward, I think innovation will come from planeswalkers. I'm looking forward to testing Domri, Xenagos, and I'm very excited to try Ajani Vengeant. He's relevant on a number of board states, he continues our mana denial plan, and his ult wrecks control. Maybe M15 will drop a 3-4 mana Garruk that we can use.
Went 0-2 drop at the GP Detroit trial today. I used hemmann's list from KC save for the 3rd avalanche riders (had trouble locating a 3rd) and used a beast within in its stead. Every game I wished I had a 4th. Lost a couple close ones to scapeshift and got crushed by RG tron.
I seemed to draw demonic more often than violent and it would sit dead in my hand until they got a creature which sometimes was too late.
The trick here is to use Verdant Catacomb to fetch Dryad Arbor EOT. There are a number of decks that won't have creatures when you want to go off. This makes Dread still relevant.
I've been playing the deck for over 8 months now. I've been switching back and forth between leyline of the void and faerie macabre. I'm sticking with faerie. She's more flexible and she is never a dead draw. In modern sniping key graveyard cards just puts you ahead. You don't need to nuke the entire gy. She also grinds games out well. Just my two cents. Tues modern has been super popular at my LGS since they started giving out modern master pack vouchers for playing 3 rounds. I've got packs coming!
I learned something interesting today. Maybe Faerie Macbre is better but. For those of us running white and Leyline of Sanctity, try bring it out against gifts.dec. Shuts down gifts ungiven as the card reads Target Opponent.
Faerie Macabre is an all star against eggs. Takes key pieces at instant speed, is pretty much uncounterable, and you are still on the living end plan. I run 4 in the 75. 2 main and 2 board. It's great.
Not really. With 16 lands and 3 Moxes I have 19 mana sources that can produce mana on the first turn. And with the three Springleaf drums I actually have an incredible mana ramp.
It happened a lot that I had four mana on turn 2-3. So much so that I have been trying to add 4 moxes and 4 Springleaf Drums and play Whispering Madness.
Raging Ravine is great. Coming into play tapped wasn't an issue in the games I played. Usually it comes down later but when I had it in my opening hand I also had simian spirit guide. It really helped grind out games.

Food for thought....
I'll keep jamming...

Please tell me this is working for you. I love that card.
Edit. Nope. Not a creature spell. Read the card, bro.
