Holy Hades, what happened? I put Dark Confidant in here? I thought this was a cheap deck!
It still is, relatively. Also, our good friend Bob seems to have dropped in price a bit. Picked up all three for a little more than what used to be the price of one.
I don't think anyone will disagree that Bob is the better draw engine. I need to get him out earlier than I could get the Muse. Twelve discard spells was a bit overkill, especially against aggro decks. Innocent Blood coming in for the Inquisition gives me some good removal and another way to get rid of risky Bobs if I get that low. I hated to take out the Skirsdag because he's so much fun, but he never really goes off. Withered Wretch has a little more punch and he gives me main deck graveyard hate. Goyf's a *****.
Wretch freed up room in the sideboard, so I dropped the Leylines for a sort of board wipe with Sudden Spoiling. It's a super versatile answer. I really think it's something I can take advantage of with all my 2 power creatures. Unearth had been underwhelming, so it's gone for Tragic Slip to give me another edge against aggro decks after game one.
Big question: Leyline or Surgical Extraction? Extraction works as more than just graveyard hate, but nothing hates graveyards like the leyline. Leyline doesn't work as well with Bob because of the high CMC. Surgical Extraction doesn't need to be in my opening hand. This one's a toss up to me.
As much as I cannot resist the flavor of this setup, my life is going to get really busy in the coming month. I don't want to be the guy that can't play and ruins it for everyone else.
If he's town, I empathize with him. He is probably feeling defeated and like no one's listening to him. It's tough to feel enough interest in the game at that point to put more effort into it. It takes a calm and logical mindset to step back and realize that he's still in the game as long as this Twilight goes on. He has the chance to analyze his own wagon from the unique perspective of being absolutely sure of his alignment. If he actually is town as he professes, then he needs to help us (and himself) win the game right now. Lynched or alive, Town wins as a team.
Obviously, I don't believe he's town. I voted for him. I'm just not arrogant enough to think I can't be wrong.
All I'm saying is that if I'm wrong, Plowshares, you shouldn't just give up. Play to your win condition.
Wow... Lynch me before I've even had a chance to defend myself? I'm Town by the way. Good going.
My reads have been public knowledge and I was going to take today to re-read and refine them, but I guess not. I guess just look for the lazy votes on me.
A town player would still put this effort into it because he doesn't need to be alive to win.
Claiming Village Leader is pretty ballsy to just make up. I'm absolutely sure that someone has to be the "leader" and that if he made it up, he'd be counterclaimed on it in an instant.
That said, nothing about being the "leader" is auto-town from a flavor standpoint. Power corrupts, and all that.
I'm back. Hanging Az is a mistake. Please don't do this guys. Az will give us pages and pages of solid content and he is the best town analyst I've ever gamed with. I'm convinced he's town.
Limited Access Driving home for the weekend. I will be able to access the site from my phone, but not often as this is the only family time I get each week. I will return to full access Saturday, 10PM Gulf Standard.
I'd like to see what everyone thinks of Kamikaze's self contradiction. His recent explanation does nothing to diminish the fact that he said two contradictory statements. He admits scum self hammer as a tactic to cut discussion short, but then scrutinizes Az for wanting to get more discussion. You can't play both sides of the same coin.
This is way too slick. I know nothing about you; but I figure the emotion you showed was real along with the defeatism... and this makes me second guess that because it is such a well worded bit of self realism/reflection. I feel like I'm being pulled into liking you so that your last paragraph has a bigger impact. Probably paranoia, but I'm suddenly very wary of you.
Now you understand why Az is so conflicted about me. I talk like this every game.
For what it's worth, I am an aspiring author. Wording things well is what I do.
If you talk about a pair of pants belonging to Chris, they are not Chri's pants. They can be Chris' pants or Chris's pants depending on how you'd like to pronounce it.

So, what have I done with this list lately?
Dark Confidant is in for Graveborn Muse
Innocent Blood is in for Inquisition of Kozilek
Withered Wretch is in for Skirsdag High Priest

Any thing you'd change?

I am the Ace of Diamonds. Diamonds are hard and cold, high in value and sharp as hell. It's my suit, and I'm the best one in it.
Oh, and I'm alive in one other game right now.
I did genuinely enjoy this.
Thanks for playing everyone.
Town owes this game to AE, no doubt.
Yeah, I killed Generic. I regret nothing.
At dinner last night, my toddler slapped the ass of the waitress as she passed.
He has good taste.

Plowshares is our first scum.
I still don't like Kamikaze, but not sure on him.
Unvote Kamikaze
Vote Plowshares

I told you guys someone would do this.
