If hornet queen is playable in standard then this thing is amazing. Ramping into this is arguably just as strong, if it doesn't see play now then I would bet that it will see play post rotation.

Yes, that is a trick but there are several "infinite" combos in standard. The problem with all of them is that you have to commit 3-4 specific cards, which makes them very difficult to pull off. Not only due to needing those specific cards all at the same time, but also because your opponent can easily disrupt said combo. 2 market festival, voyaging satyr, thassa's ire, and a mana sink to spend it on. That's 5 cards you have to commit to a plan that can easily be disrupted. Where as currently in standard green decks already make absurd amounts of mana with nykthos.

Other new combos include Ral Zarek, Nissa, Worldwaker, and The Chain Veil for infinite Loyalty/Turns. Which while cool, can also easily be disrupted.

I've been running a deck similar to this so I have a few suggestions. Replacing Duress with Thoughtseize would be a good idea, plus it isn't likely to lose too much of it's value. The only other "issue" I see is that you basically have no removal mainboard, perhaps replace the Ordeals of Heliod with a few Banishing Lights?

Herald of Torment can be an powerhouse in this kind of deck if you have the lifegain for him. (which you do)

I think either moving the Nyx-Fleece Rams to the sideboard or removing them altogether is a good idea.

Erebos, God of the Dead is only a good card in this deck if your dealing with decks that gain life. U/W/x control, Mono Black Devotion, ect. but as a 1-2 of in the sideboard he's very good.

Obzedat, Ghost Council who's doing high-fives with Whip of Erebos. Honorable mention to Gary.

    Quote from Draconek
I play the elixir. I like the elixir. When I'm forced to go to time, it's because I'm FORCED to go to time. Just because my deck has the potential of winning post turn 20 doesn't make it OK for my opponent in top deck mode to sit there and stare at the land he drew just to go to time. I'm a control player, and have been for a long time, therefor I can typically judge the plays I want to make in a quick and efficient manner. Most people who play control who play elixir can tell you the same thing. If I don't feel I'm comfortable enough with my list to win within 50 minutes, I won't play an elixir in it, period.

So in conclusion, people should concede to me when they realize that there is nothing they can do and that I've locked them out of the game. It's incredibly selfish and arrogant of them to demand me to sit there and draw through my deck for one of 2-3 win conditions when inevitability is already obviously on my side. If they don't like it, competitive Magic might not be to their liking.

I'm sorry, but what does this rant have to do with the original discussion?

While these potential spoilers do sound riveting, we don't have much proof that they are real either. Current hype level: Cautiously Optimistic

As a black player, (atleast for the current standard) I honestly think there is no great way to answer this question. If you keep an alright hand it gets thoughtseized, then all went as expected, if you hand is really sketchy(like a 2 lander or something) then either way it wont be good for you. Scenario A. Your opener is questionable, but you don't wanna chance mulling to 6 and getting mulched by a thoughtseize. You keep and then thoughtseize makes that hand EVEN WORSE. OR they don't have it and you kept a real gamble of a hand. B. Your opener is questionable, but even in the face of a possible thoughtseize you decide to mull. You either get thoughtseized and ruined, or you got away with the mull.

I think you made the correct choice to keep. Thumbs Up

    My take:

So just a better Domri Rade in every way possible with devotion being a thing. I'd give that a solid nope.

I don't want to google tonite...

Who is Kiora and why are people going ape-**** about a vague riddle posssibly hinting to the existence of her card?

Kiora is a planeswalker that was presented in Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. And people have been shouting for her planeswalker card ever since.

The first thing I could recommend is cutting 4 Swift Justice for 4 Dryad Militant. Finding room for Judge's Familiar, atleast in the sideboard for control match-ups would be a good choice. Most white weenie decks don't go on heroic so I wouldn't try to force it at all, though if you did you would probably try going W/U because there's much more available to heroic in those colors. Saying that, Daring Skyjek, Imposing Sovereign, and Banisher Priest are all strong cards that you could afford that could be very strong for you.
