I think it will be 2 different creatures one each side. Almost like one smaller inexperienced warrior side. Then a leveled up veteran side.

I agree that Strixhaven will have creature/spell cards.

I call fake. The set number's wrong. It should say 304/(numbers of cards in set) - and just says 304, with a large blank where the total set count is - then the rarity.

There's be no reason why that's blank - and since they have not announced the total set size - I call fake.

I remember an announcement stating they would no longer list total cards in a set for cards not included in booster packs. Im at work otherwise I'd try to look it up. I don't think anyone would take t he time to fake a planeswalker deck planeswalker. Most people don't care about them and wouldn't even look at the fakers hard work, lol.

So they could have done the Aswan Jaguar and created cool cards that can't exist in paper, but instead they decided to keep treating novice players like idiots.
    Yeah, it's WotC.

I think this goes against the purpose of arena teaching players how to play paper magic. Maybe sometime in the future after the product has been fully released they could add in an arena only format with these types of effects.

Does this mean there will only ever be exactly ONE Bolas transform card in the future history of MtG?

Only one if you go by the statement "Use this card to represent a double-faced Nicol Bolas card in library or hand,"

...but it does go on to display Nicol Bolas, the ravager underneath that so I think it would be clear enough to not be confused with future double-faced Nicol Bolas cards Nicol, the half-A-whole dragon or Nicol Bolas, the fratricide.

We haven't gotten a real good description of Ugin yet in these stories, have we? Maybe I missed something (in the stories or on here), but he is not a "spirit" dragon yet, is he?

We've heard of the five survivors of the Dragon Wars, but Ugin would make six (ignore the Piru question at the moment)... unless he dies and is reborn as a (planeswalking) Spirit Dragon.

    Thoughts?

I'm on this bandwagon. I would think that Ugin is not technically alive and may have been killed before the end of the Dragon war...possibly by Bolas himself. Naming each other might have some significance with the survival of Ugin's spirit. The brothers may be tied to each other's destiny in a way that doesn't let Ugin's spirit move beyond. The events of Cux of fate may occur after Nicol is able to figure out a way to kill the spirit of Ugin.

Also, is Bolas referencing the Primevals? Does the Elder Dragon War leave the plane open to domination by the Primevals?
    .

I think this could definitely be the case.

"Although I am sure those dragons are not really like us and our siblings. We are the first, after all, and thus the most powerful."

    similar to

"I am older than they are, greater. I have devoured stars and shattered worlds."

It could still be other dragons that have no bearing on the story but it would be cool to have a more clear idea of how the primevals and elders tie together.

A mythic, a planeswalker, ... and can be totally unplayable in limited. That's quite the feat. You need a minimum count of playable zombies in your deck, otherwise she does literally nothing. At all. A planeswalker so narrow does not feel like aplaneswalker to me.

Edit: for the comparison with Sarkhan: his first ability works without dragons and his ultimates not only works but wins you the game in limited.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that by making planeswalkers like this one more restricted to a specific theme, it extends the already limited design space that planeswalkers have. If you keep making generic Lilianas, you'll quickly run out of design choices for the cards that won't end up looking pretty much the same as previous incarnations.

I agree. This is a fun card. Not all planeswalkers should have to be restricted to being playable in limited. It is a mythic after all and I could probably count on one hand the number of planeswalkers I've opened in a draft. Planeswalkers with unique and limited abilities are perfect for a core set that has double the number of planeswalkers as other sets. We are getting more than double the number of planeswalkers every year, there are bound to be some that are narrow to explore some of the unused design space they have not touched on before. I probably will never have a deck for her but I'm happy she exists.

WotC wasn't willing to use their full names in the first place for this set. Vaevictis Asmadi was another one that got his full name only for japanese translation issues (the first version was "Vaevictis, the Dire"). For obvious reasons, Nicol Bolas and Palladia-Mors couldn't be simply be know as "Nicol" and "Palladia", so they tried to make the shorter name whenever was possible.

But " All proper dragons have two names." Wizards is so disrespectful. If Nicol were here he'd throw a hissy fit, probably burn the building down or cause everyone to murder each other.

Interesting, I thought starting with Dominaria they weren't doing *s for power/toughness, since otherwise I assume Shanna, Sisay's Legacy would have been templated that way.

And Heroic Reinforcements is a cool card.

Enigma Drake is a reprint so they could not change that. Currently the drake's power changes when in none battlefield zones, 0 would be a functional errata.

Huh? Did you mean non-battlefield zones? No it doesn't, its power is always defined by the number of instants and sorcery in your graveyard regardless of what zone Drake is in.

In other words, it's only ever 0 when there are no instants and sorceries to count. Making it 0 instead of * would just be confusing imho.

Correct, they could not change the * to a 0 without changing how the card works. That is what I am saying.

Was ever explicitly stated that Arcades Sabboth was actually one of the five Elder dragons that survived the war? I know there are statements in Bolas' bio that state Bolas was one of the five but does it ever confirm Sabbath as a survivor?

The four confirmed by having stories in the comics were Bolas, Chromium, Palladia, and Vaevictus, but I am not sure Sabboth is ever mentioned by name. The other two who may or may not be survivors of the war are:
Piru, who may have been a spawn could have become an elder much like the dragons of Takir before being killed by the Blackblade
Ugin, who may be "dead" in the sense that he is a spirit thus not a true survivor of the war.

I am sure we will get clarification soon these are just thoughts I am having.

My Burn Heart is bleeding right now. Also this does stop storm right? Since you have to pay for each spell targeting you, they dont have to be cast.

I don't believe so. This is a trigger on you being targeted. Storm copies enter the stack already targeting you (if you decided to switch target to your opponent that would trigger it), so I don't believe this actually does anything. You can even just let the first Grapeshot be countered if you have enough storm copies afterwards.

If I'm wrong, someone let me know please!

You still have to choose a target for each copy then this would trigger for each copy. So yes it will counter each storm copy unless the controller pays 1
