Quote from Sckeyth »As a fan of traditional White Stax I decided to go with this kind of build:

I stopped playing Legacy around the time of Return to Ravnica's release so I'm a bit out of touch with the current meta and would like to know if there are some crucial changes that I should make either to the main or the sideboard. I could see myself cutting 1x Smokestack, 1x Ghostly Prison and 1x Crucible of Worlds (most likely in that order) if need to be.
From the new cards I've seen I really like Monastery Mentor but unfortunately it doesn't really fit my build (Tabernacle effects have huge anti-synergy with it). Council's Judgment and Unexpectedly Absent don't really seem too good to me 'cause of their requirement so I'll just stick to the Oblivion Rings. Has there been any other new cards that I should consider adding?
O ring should be split into blinding light and o ring for my money. The latter is better, but Echoing truth protection makes a split attractive, esp vs Show and Tell decks.
I would say I think the meta is too fast for 4 Stack and 4 'geddon effects, even in a full-on magus build. I wonder if you could splash blue for Pendrell Mists/Propaganda? I would probably look at a couple of 3 ofs in the list- turning fours into threes.
I also think RIP is a nonbo with the deck's essential artifact mana, despite the Helm, and I think Null Rod/ Stony are not so nice with Mox D. What are you going after with them?
Why no maze of ith- its rather good vs the reanimators, and anything that cheats in Grisselbrand.
On that note Containment Priest is really strong against such cards.
On a similar note- Ensnaring Bridge- well worth considering as there is a lot tendency towards huge men- Dark Depths renta-combo seems grafted onto everything that can run it and most things that can't. Ditto the number of T3 Emmies seems at an all time high.

Black is terrible at dealing with non-creature permanents, so if I were to run mono-black I would go for more speed:
15-18 swamp
X lotus petal or possibly chrome mox
4 dark ritual
8-10 targets (minimum 3 sire of insanity)
X putrid imp
4 entomb
4 reanimate
4 exhume
4 animate dead
X thoughtseize
4 cabal therapy
4 gitaxian probe
You could try serum powder instead of probe if you want since probe actually decreases the number of keepable hands. Note that putrid imp can flashback therapy.

Green offers decay and loam/crime.
Red offers direct damage and blood moon.
White does have some decent removal but inferior to green. I guess there's also 1 playable win-con.
Blue doesn't give us anything compelling.

MUD is tough for decks like this because they can lock us out fairly easily.

I'm interested in running green board package. Considering decay, noxious revival, xantid swarm, perhaps even carpet of flowers. Anyone have any experience with these?
I'm running a build with 4x hapless researcher so revival might be extra good.
