ThyLordQ posted a message on [UNF] Mothership 11/29 — Unfinity sneak peekI really wonder whether or not they thought through calling it "Acorn Magic." Feels like it's only a matter of time before it gets referred to as "Nut Magic" and causes some kind of backlash from Brand Management.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

Clearly that means you have to not buy groceries that week. (Only wanted to add to the joke, not saying you said that.)
My advice: Only buy groceries on sale, in bulk (plan/prepare for meal options in advance, maximize freezer space), compare flyers for different stores, learn to spot the "red herring" sales on lower value items (which still don't have a good healh, flavor profile, culinary adaptability, and mass to price ratio). Also, bike to save on gas and parking fees (if you can safely and confidently balance the weight on your handlebars for the ride home). That's what I do, and it works wonders. You always eat well, and feel the added satisfaction of knowing you did so at a discount (usually by at least 40%).
You'd be surprised how much money you'd save towasteinvest on Magic cards! -

Guardman posted a message on [MH2] Millikin— MTG Nexus previewPosted in: The Rumor MillQuote from Fan-of-"Fanservice" »So "gusto" means something other than "taste" (its Italian meaning) in English? Weird.
Love the much shorter rules text.
Here it means "vigor". Though even saying that, I don't think it is the best word choice for the quote as gusto has a enthusiastic/joyful connotation, where this quote instead has the toymaker acting via annoyance. -

Grist is just the Oogie Boogie Man without his burlap jumpsuit. -

Svyelunite Priest mentions a "Goddess of the Pearl Moon" in its flavor text. Not sure if this would be a "Merfolk God" though.

Saffi's original art is the only art of a legendary creature to be running away from the viewer. Even Norin the Wary is still cautiously moving forward. The original art was also very specific to Time Spiral - it's her running through a portal only to end up timeshifted - or whatever the flavor of the block was - This new art is far more eternal, and makes sense for a legendary creature. It also fits the original flavor more. In the goyf flavor text, it's Saffi telling Hans to run, it makes little sense why Saffi is the one depicted running in her art. This new art also fits the card's flavor better - she's sacrificing herself to give her brother time to run away.

I know what people are saying about the art - we never would have seen fire (Chandra's hair) that looks like that in the old art. That's a clear result of computers - even if it's hand drawn on a computer, it's not utilizing physical ink, paint, or water colors. But I agree that the old frame just makes everything look better. My eyes are drawn to the red brimstone border, and not to the hyper smooth rendering of the image.

I agree, but this art, in this border, does give off some Fallen Empires vibes.
