Oooooooh I didn't think this through for the novel character
I did more digging and I made a whoops
the answer was right there in front of us for the novel character card
theres A particular character who’s in the big rumor and we go to a novels there’s one called “Distant Planes”
guess who’s in it....
there’s a story in “Distant planes” called.............
Chef's surprise
Lore on Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar and the leakers say she’s in the set.
This makes the most sense, though I'm always hoping for a Greensleeves card from the OG novels. And technically speaking, Distant Planes is an anthology of short stories, not quite a novel. But I'm sure Asmoranomardicadaistinaculdacar is the character Maro's referencing, since she came up in the unofficial leak that also said we'd get Counterspell and Prelate as a BaB promo.
I know that Sun Titan, Saffi Eriksdotter, Blasting Station is a combo that can lead to infinite pinging.
I can't seem to find any confirmation that Sun Titan plus Angelic Renewal plus Blasting Station allows for the same combo. Am I missing something? Does Angelic Renewal not work with this combo for some reason?
Tap Blasting Station: Sac Sun Titan, ping for 1
Titan enters the graveyard, triggering Angelic Renewal, sacrifice Angelic Renewal to return Titan
Titan enters the battlefield triggering its ETB and untapping Blasting Station. Titan's ETB returns Angelic Renewal to play.
Does this not go infinite?
Just trying to figure it out since I don't see the combo listed anywhere.
A previously reliable leaker has said that Counterspell will be in MH2, so it's possibe. And I think Maro said that a while ago. I think at this point in time Counterspell is a fine card for modern, even possibly a card that Modern needs to allow for future design space to not lead to degeneracy in the format.
My question is on cards like Phantom Nomad, does the 'remove counter in place of damage' clause go on the stack? For example, if my Phantom Nomad is down to only having one +1/+1 counter, and I attack into my opponent's Mons's Goblin Raiders, would they trade immediately, or does Nomad deal its damage, the ability go on the stack, giving me an opportunity to ephemerate the nomad before the last counter is removed?
I can't find any reference to this, so i don't know if it works. If I'm attempting the Worldgorger Dragon / Animate Dead combo, can I use Pandemonium as the win con, assuming it is one of the perminant being exiled and brought back with Worldgorger? Like I animate Worldgorger, it enters triggering pandemonium, permanents get exiled, Woldgorger goes to grave, permanents come back, Worldgorger gets reanimated, triggering pandemonium - repeat?
Isn't that owl just the Strixhaven symbol? It'll probably be some Strixhaven cards that they predict would be highly desirable, getting a big border change, like the way they gave us the SL of Titans in the Kaldheim showcase border.
As an flavor-centered EDH player, I've always been hoping for a Breeding Pool with more whimsical art. Instead we get a Breeding Pool with horror art. I mean, i guess the name "Breeding Pool" is hard to match with any whimsical concept, but still - I've like a broader variety of what's being depicted in my art. Like maybe a nice pond where cute frogs lay their eggs...
Ruxa, Patient Professor - Am I correct in thinking her first ability has no effect in this deck? I get that her second and third abilities affect Fractals.
Legendary Brushwagg?
Or maybe Legendary siege rhino? - That's a popular card.

Svyelunite Priest mentions a "Goddess of the Pearl Moon" in its flavor text. Not sure if this would be a "Merfolk God" though.

Thanks.
If you squint real hard it's also a bit like Hogaak.
