Looks like a very fun deck! I plan on making this at some point. I used to have
an Innistrad block deck like this but it also ran blue which really watered it down
and made the mana quite iffy. My one suggestion would be to consider Kessig Cagebreakers.
Possibly for a 2/2 split with the cagebreakers and spider spawning? They take a turn to activate
but the tokens come in attacking and it's a re-useable effect. Triumph of the Hordes might be
a good way to deal with chump blockers and win in one attack. Anyway, good work as always Spooky!
You could make my next submission, "Palnar never gets a @%*#@%70ing @#%@%@ Llama *@%)%^& ever!"
I show up more than that, check the records mister trump
It does suck tho, I've been a crafter for years and never got a title. Was in a pissy mood last night, my apologies. I do never get picked for titles tho...
I've had pneumonia for a month but have still been travelling / trying to live life. Was in NYC for a week,
working some, partying a lot, getting 4 to 6 hours sleep a night. No regrets! Then I fly in on the redeye,
sorta hungover and my mom shows up 12 hours later... Surprise!
And I must say, I'm pretty shocked at the MTG expansion. Not to be an ass but it almost seems like gambling?
Like seriously? 3 good cards and the super rare artifacts? This is really not far off from the lotto TBH. If
I still played MTG, I would be concerned. They seem to be really re-hashing the non-reserved list stuff a ton.
Almost reeks of desperation? Also, the plot is really lame. I'm glad they added some new planeswalkers, but do
we really need like 17 versions of the same boring, cliche planeswalkers? Looking at it from a non-player perspective
gives it a fresh view?
You all can still ****off btw.. I never got a single clan title of the month.
Bull***** really. If I cannot get a title passed in the next 3 months, I'm quitting
MTG salvation / crafters. it's total Bull*****. **** your titles and everything.
So, it looks like the next expansion has like 3 very valuable planeswalkers,
nothing else... What a shot in the foot? Just stop buying this?
The some fancy foily "mechanical garbage" that you should just buy on ebay for regular prices lol.
OMG fancy lands, fancy artifacts.... Great...
MTG is now lotto tickets. Huzzah!
Super sarcastic but it's so strange to see starcity selling 3 cards for a ton, the rest is trash?
Red flag alert! Hope everyone is well, laser is composing, kank is voicing or writing, don't invest too much in MTG at this point!
I enjoy the Crafters for creativity, not magic at this point. Craft on and MTG is going to hell...
This title sucks compared to my suggestion!
Might be in the Bay Area mid november for a girl I'm dating's concert lol.
[Crafters] take the Burger King Crown!
Not very active thread lately, figured I'd interject something.
(Bonus! This is my 505th post. 505 is the area code for Santa Fe and much of New Mexico! #505represent!)
Been busy as hell here! Dating, painting, Pokemon Go, week's vacation in Denver etc. etc.
Fun time in Denver for my first trip. Saw the Botanical Gardens (amazing and huge! spent 4 hours and didn't see it all), Denver Art Museum (11 floors!),
Rockies vs. Dodgers Game, Forney Transportation Museum along with a number of nice restaurants, bars, and cigar bars Ohh, and Crooked Stave brewery!
I love sour beers and they specialize in that!! Amazingly good! Colorado was cool but I flew in and then drove back with a friend. Next time, I'm driving
(only 6 hours from Santa Fe) and bringing my damn mountain bike!
Dating the wonderful Korean girl and things are going very well! We text every day, going to an opera apprentice concert tomorrow and then dinner at a Vietnamese place,
life is good Taking her hiking for the first time in NM on Sunday!
@pika- Lol thanks for sharing your story! I thought it was funny. Glad it is in good hands and I got that Mox in Seattle in 97! So it's back on the West Coast
where it belongs. Be glad you didn't buy my Mox Ruby. It was beat to hell, dunno if it would have even been tourney legal. I actually traded for that thing back
in magic camp, a birds of paradise and a couple dual lands
@laser- Moonlight Sonata is amazing! I hope for a video once you master it. Also, if you ever visit Santa Fe, one of my buddies has a vintage Stienway you can play
Also, the opera I took my new girl to was Don Giovanni. Have you played anything from that?
@everyone- Wouldn't be a palnar post without a mountain biking video. I just found this tonight, but.... this guy is riding my EXACT bike, more skillfully than I could
but I thought it was cool! Specialized Enduro Comp 29er!
Oh, and level 20 on Pokemon Go! Catch em all!
Cheers!
Hope all is well! Things are going great here Still loving Santa Fe, I am dating a new girl
now and first date tonight went amazingly well! Took her to see a Jennifer Koh violin concert
and then a fancy French restaurant L'Oliver
Need to sell some dual lands and force of will to pay for that meal hahaha but worth it!
She's Korean and really well traveled, speaks 3 languages, is a musician and a teacher
I didn't want to be too forward but she texted after she got home Setting up another date already.
So yeah, not a bad Friday haha.
Busy weekend too, another performance by Koh, going to hang out with George (RR Martin) on saturday at a party at his theater,
then seeing a movie. House party sunday seeing off a friend that is moving to New Orleans.... I'm bringing the Zubrowka, it's
going to be insane!!! (look it up) Then flight to Denver is in the morning from ABQ... no idea how I'm going to not be hungover lol.
Hope everyone is well, also I'm level 19 in Pokemon Go!
Pika may or may not have an interesting story to tell, his choice lol.
Cheers crafters! Live life to the fullest!
Just started playing it for real tonight. One really nice thing is that one of my favorite bars (that stays
open to 2 am) has 2 sites within barstool distance So I can read a book, have a beer, gain some xp.
I caught a diglett that was literally in my beer glass hehe.
But I'm really enjoying the game. I like that it combines exercise, art, and history I've already found some new
sculptures right around my neighborhood that I wasn't aware of. Also, there's a sculpture right outside my place so
I can sit on my computer and gain points
@Laser - Thanks for the video. You outshine her by far, but man she's cute!
@Laser - I don't *think* I broke one of my toes.... just maybe lol... It isn't affecting anything.
And yeah, the bikes are crazy ;D Matches me well!
I just signed up for Pokemon Go tonight. It seems like a cool thing to do. I live downtown in Santa Fe
and there's a ton of historic sites in town. (America's oldest capital city) I was hanging out on the
Plaza late Saturday night smoking a nice cigar and I kept seeing a ton of folks walking by playing the game.
Looks like a lot of fun and due to the ebay *****, I end up walking to the post office every day to ship cards anyway.
The only bad thing is, it looks like the mileage counter doesn't work for biking over 10 mph. I rarely go that slow
but I guess it will work when I'm climbing steep hills or accelerating from a stoplight. Anyone else playing it here?
the first one doesn't count... it was my intro mountain bike... I just keep it around so friends who come to visit me
can ride without renting one. It's just a Giant Revel 1. Nothing fancy, front suspension. Valentines day gift
from the Ex-gf lol. And I paid for it.... not really qualified to run the downhill ***** I've been doing here haha.
Wrecked sooo damn much on that thing!!!! Not good enough for NM trails but I sure gave it a good try lol.
Lots of scars, a few sprains, maybe a broken toe but whatever. I wrecked a ton on that bike, maybe her evil spirit coming through.
Loving my new bike Full suspension, tubeless tires (no flats!) 29er Specialized
But looking to get a dedicated downhill bike. Basically, this is a bike built to hell and back, over engineered,
heavy as hell. In fact, usually 40+ pounds... Impossible to ride up hills... But, we have ski parks in New Mexico
and Colorado. So the bike has really heavy suspension, super strong 8 inch springs in the back. Designed for taking
10+ ft jumps or just anything! But you have to take a ski lift up because there's no way you're pedaling that bike
up a hill, you'll be walking it.
This is the bike I'm interested in, at least the frame - Gary Fisher Kingfisher
But it's been totally upgraded in shocks and brakes.
this is more what I would do around NM - I get a discounted park pass - Angel Fire Bike Park, Nm
and then if you're interested, this is Red Bull Hardline, the toughest downhill in the world. I'm still training for this but that is the goal
Redbull Hardline, yeah I'm insane
Also if I really get into downhill, I'll invest in a Specialized carbon sworks 8
or an Intense M16c Factory Build. But they're not cheap... as one of my friend's asked, where's the motor at that price? lol
Hope everyone had a good 4th and is gearing up for the 14th (Bastille Day lol).
My apologies, I am a bit of a dumbass when it comes to the forums. I couldn't figure out
how to attach images to a PM so you all will have to suffer through a few images of my
Mox Jet. Not trying to brag, it's hitting the auction block one way or another. Time
for a 3rd mountain bike lol Cheers crafters!
I don't like drama, just figured everyone should know why I'm clearing house. Also, just to be clear, not close family...
ALL of my family lives in Canada spread out over almost every province ;/ except my mom in Arkansas. Hopefully
Trump won't deport her lollol I am the ONLY American
citizen from both my mom and dad's sides. Therefore, I don't see them very often... Like once every 5 years if I'm lucky. So,
I wouldn't say close family by any means... More like acquaintances TBH.
And one important question. Has ANYONE ever had a card graded? Like a good one? The damn Albuquerque Grand Prix was the week
I moved to NM and I was just too busy moving in and had my mom and cat here helping I'm not sure if it's worth it? It seems like I'll have
to mail it to some company, (insured) wait a while, then they mail it back. The card grading websites are super obscure and mostly
seem to deal with baseball cards. A real lack of info. Any advice or experience would be appreciated. Pika, you have a shop, maybe
you have dealt with that?
@Dox Thanks for the sage advice
@Laser - Thanks for the vid, Opera season is almost here!!!!! And OMG that beautiful redhead apprentice I met hahaha. But I need to
stay single, more $ for mountain bikes Btw Mountain biking might be of comparable expense to magic, but at least you don't have like 4 or 5 bikes a year
coming out that you HAVE to have hehehe.
Cheers Crafters!
Selling my NM Mox Jet soon, but I think I'm going to get it graded, it's in killer condition, I think at least a 9
Btw, quick weird story but the reason I'm selling my whole collection is because my ********* nephew STOLE my unlim Black Lotus last April.
I had it for almost 20 years, wouldn't play with it at stores, tell anyone I had it in San Diego or Arkansas (lots of guns there lol).
So I was looking to connect with my nephew, I knew he played magic so I brought my decks up there. Didn't have time to play but on my
last night in Toronto, I showed him my decks. It had turned out he had quit magic, was bragging on the metro how much he sold his collection
for.... So I show him my vintage decks... he sees my lotus, asks how much it's worth, holds it specifically. I guess I look away, he pockets it.
There were moxes, dual lands, all my signed lili's in the deck. He sooo did it! If it was anything other than slight of hand, why not grab
some moxen? or my whole ******* deck box? And acted super weird and awkward when I said goodbye.
Not only that, I didn't notice it for weeks... but I found my lotus at a Toronto card shop online.
I called his dad, my half brother, he was a total dick about it, denied everything, never called me back.... Also, Laser you should know, they
live in Rosedale (and not the community housing) so not hurting for money. Just rich ********s.
Anyway, this theft changed my life... I started thinking about it and I wondered "What is the value of a card that the first person you show it
to, a family member no less, promptly steals it?" There is no value to this? In fact it has negative value due to all the stress it adds to your
life. Also, I am no longer existentialist, I am Daoist and also really like Eckhart Tolle So, this theft changed my life, actually for the better.
I just stopped caring about any type of possession and just started selling everything I had on ebay. You aren't your stuff and your possessions don't
define you as a person. SNES games, vintage toys, tons of magic cards, books, magazines, just everything. I simplified my life, made some money,
moved to Santa Fe I also found MTG to be very anti-Daoist because you are forever wanting new stuff, rather than being satisfied with what you have.
My fav quote from the Dao De Jing - ""There is no crime more onerous than greed, No misfortune more devastating than avarice.
And no calamity that brings with it more grief than insatiability. Thus, knowing when enough is enough
Is really satisfying." - Dao De Jing (Chapter 46)
So the theft of a 7000$ card might have been the best thing to happen to me
I might be sorta moving out of magic but still love the Crafters and my buddy from Amsterdam is visiting the fall, bringing
a few decks so I will keep a few around
0 casting cost, colorless
art is me in a mountain biking jersey, few scars from bailing
Loyalty X where X equals the # of overpriced MTG cards you own.
-1 ability: Go sell an expensive magic card on Ebay. Spend
proceeds on craft beer, single malt scotch, silver needle tea or mountain biking
That's it!
LOL
Sold a mox today, drinking some killer stuff tonight Ballast Point Barmy, 12% beer
lagavulin 16 most of the week, need to buy some Talisker 10 too.
Hope all crafters are well!
40$ to play magic? Or free beer lol? Sounds like people didn't crack much good stuff. Hopefully the price of FoW didn't die too badly. Still have
to sell my playset.
@Laser- Saw some pretty amazing Opera on Sunday. Are you into that as well or just piano? SF is pretty famous for opera And omg, one of the singers
I talked to afterwards was a really cute AND talented redhead Same first name as my last ex gf tho lol. Would be my 4th Jessica lol.. hmm.
Now I really cannot wait for the Opera season to start lol.
@DQ- I like the cat pic, your cat must be related to mine. When she was a kitten, I always let her play magic with me. She never messed up any cards
and would go in a basket and watch me play. And loves to knock dice around. Her name is Avacyn because she's black and white lol (and has a dark side haha). I cannot say the same
about when I play Battletech, she tends to knock over a lot of mechs and trees. She's a purebreed seal colorpoint ragdoll btw. Cute and fluffy and sweet, but dumb as hell :<
Normally not allowed outside but I let her run around when it snows sometimes. Also a few halloween costumes in there.
was just a sprain because I sat at a table during the festival with a doctor. She gave me a free exam lol. That sounds naughty haha.
Anyway just a sprain!
Yeah the Bach was great. the Barber just felt a bit heavy to me? Too dramatic and I'm a big Dvorak fan but
I like his Slavonic dances best Cool vid btw, hadn't heard of smalin.
