It really depends on if you need more beats or more answers. Scooze is slower but will provide you more utility. You also have to pump lots of mana and cards into it. Goyf is immediately big and a huge threat all the time. I suggest proxying both and seeing which is more reliable for you.

Nykthos is a clear 2-3 of in elf decks. No reason not to, it makes your llanowar elves make even MORE mana. I would recommend 4 if it wasn't legendary.

Well I suppose my answer is somewhat influenced by that's what people in the stores around me call them. I'm sure people don't call it American in the UK, for example. I just don't live there.

Anyways the only official names are those from Apocalypse, obviously. Junk is obviously very established, but the others have lots of variation.

IMO, Heartless Summoning just isn't that great, based off of my Standard experience with it. If you have it in your deck, you have to play some fatties to justify it. Which means that you won't be able to play said fatties if you don't draw one of your 4 copies. Because of this, you have to run cards like Quicksilver Amulet to allow other methods of cheating creatures out. In addition, it's a horrible card to topdeck. If you don't draw it in the first 2 turns of the game, it's usually worse than a dead draw, because it will actually hinder you more than help.

Of course, powering out a myr superion with one of those is always loads of fun. I just don't think it's reliable enough to be competitive unless there's some cards that synergize well together I'm just not seeing.

I think most people call the wedges by these names:

    UWR: American
    BUG: BUG
    BWG: Junk
    RUG: RUG
And I have heard RBW be called "Aristocrats colors" a few times by standard players, as well as the obvious "Red white black", and most commonly, "Borzhov".

I believe the current version of the land maker doesn't actually use your land drop for the turn. I'm not sure on that though.

Any ludicrous creature that costs more than 6 mana is probably pretty good. Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger , Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Griselbrand, any of the big 3 Eldrazi, etc.

I feel like birthing pod is forced evolution. While it's the essence of phyrexia (especially new phyrexia), it doesn't really scream "nature" to me. If you really want nature I would stay away from anything phyrexian, and go towards something from Zendikar or Worldwake. Maybe try a landfall deck?

I feel like the 2-for 1 aspect of it isn't its real weakness, it's the sorcery speed that's the problem. There's lots of threats in modern that you want to get rid of RIGHT NOW, and sorcery speed really impedes that.

Dryad Arbor, if you want to get literal.

This thread doesn't really have much content, but I would expect to see a decent amount of fish. I dunno why, I'm just feeling like it's a pretty good deck right now.

Have to say, it has some of the most hilarious art this side of Goblin Diplomats. Almost playable on the art alone.

My problem is if you're playing WR, why not just play thundermaw/baneslayer as your finisher? Possibility Storm, Curse of Exhaustion, Manabarbs, etc. don't actually do anything on their own. If you slam a baneslayer, that's an immediate threat that finishes the game by itself in like 3 turns. If you slam a manabarbs, your opponent will laugh at you.

I'm personally not a fan of the pegasus. Perhaps Imposing Sovereign (or maybe put that in the sideboard). Gather the Townsfolk works great with your soul wardens and champions. If you are running the soul warden/champion/etc package, Elspeth is the way to go hands down with your finisher.

Elspeth is ridiculously good if you can resolve her and hold her on the field. If you want a lower curve but considerably less impact, consider Ajani, Caller of the Pride. He's quite weak to removal but he can snowball a game in your favor. It might be reasonable for you to splash to boros as well to get Ajani Vengeant, which also gives you Lightning Bolt and Boros Charm
