Unfortunately the biggest loss will be Pillar because its really RDW best way to beat Voice of Resurgence. Mortars really seems good to deal with 4+ toughness creature that may rule the format after rotation. Also, you do not seem to have enough stuff to recur the Phoenix. I would consider Boros Reckoner instead. On curve, can first strike to beat many 3 toughness, then can trade up with up to 6 toughness creature
Adding the Catacombs will not get the budget anywhere near the $1000. The reason Project Melira is so expensive is because it plays 4 of the ~$40 Chord of Calling which has three Green its casting cost therefore requires both Green Fetches. I think your build (which I have priced just under $400) could really use the $150 or so investments in 4 Verdant Catacombs to really get it to work well. No one really plays Thoughtseize maindeck anymore for this deck.
Maze's End running Crackling Perimeter and Gateway Shade. Gets people out of nowhere and is fun to watch go off.
Also, bring in one Burning Earth once Crackling Perimeter gets online then it you are tapping your gates for perimeter and not mana and your opponents Shocklands become pain lands
You have no way to get to DRS and only have two of. While I understand it's a powerful card, its seems it will only see inconsistant play. Might want to use that money on others things instead of having to get two more DRS.
There is the Voice token but you should be running Dryad Arbor for getting to DRS. I would honestly consider getting 2 Verdant Catacombs since it gets everyone of your shocklands
That's the card that slipped my mind! Cool, cool. I'll probably swap out the set of Kor Skyfisher for the Leonin Relic-Warders. I know those stack shenanigans, trouble is explaining it when I do it to my opponent. Lol.
That easy, explain like you are trying teach a kid, I cast Lenion and put spell on stack pass priority let it resolve, Trigger the ETB, Hold Priority, Respond to ETB with blink spell, Trigger Leave play. Pass Priority. LTB trigger resolves first but fizzles to no Targets, then ETB triggers resolves therefore you exile the target. Getting people to understand the stack and priority is always the last concepts newer players get if they do not have and computer coding in their background.
you may not want to pay for it, but this list really need Voice of Resurgence to be competitive against Jund and Aristrocrats 1 and 2. Besides that, should get some Sunpetal Groves to better fix the mana. Gates are terrible.
Though it was in another format (Standard Seal: RTR,GTC,DGM,M14,M14) I made that deck. I feel you need to add a third color to really protect your tokens and Pyromancer to get to the overloaded Dragonshift. I'm working on a brew (RWU for Boro Charm or RUG for Simic Charm).
have you consider Leonin Relic-Warder in the deck. Has the Fiend Hunter wording so you can stack so the leave trigger resolves before the enter resolves to permanently remove troublesome artifact or enchantments, but you could also use it to get multiple permanents with Reality Acid. Cast Leonin targeting your Acid, let it resolve, forcing a sacrifice. Then, Blink Leonin, bringing back Acid enchant something new and re-fire the acid.
I like the flexibility of Kitchen Finks hybrid Mana Cost for a combo deck (you can go mono White with Spawning Pit and Blasting Station as sac outlets) the only problem is that Deathrite Shaman and the now Modern Legal Scavenging Ooze just wrecks this deck. Both of these hate cards are main deck able in Modern so I would not want to go the K Finks route. Spike Feeder on the other hand, loops up the same way and has fewer hate cards that will be maindeck. (Pithing Needles and Linvala are the main hate cards in top tier meta). Also, Feeder-angel of thune is just a 2 card combo where k. Finks requires a sac outlet therefore a 3rd piece

You have to run Spike Feeder with this card. Infinite Life and Infinite power creatures are fun to play with. Also consider Pristine Talisman, ramping into a turn 4 Archangel is amazing. I was playing around with a 4-Color combo deck but the deck is just too slow in competitive modern scene. In Soul Sisters, by turn 5, you should be swinging for near lethal and Archangel really cannot be more then a 2-of.
