Has any one seen a foil Exodus Plaguebearer recently? If so, what was the price like? I haven't found any for sale on my recent internet searches.
That's a tough one.
My guess is a Silver Boarder would be in the $1500 range and Black Border over $2000. Purely a guess though. I only see 3 cards listed on Ebay under Exodus Foil Test Print and they are less playable.
These are the kinds of cards you have to find first, then hope you can haggle a decent price. Very small numbers.
Cheers for the response!
Damn. It's literally the only non-foil in my zombies deck that I've been building/playing since I first got into the game, haha!
Ashen Ghoul tends to be better in Quadlazer style builds though. Usually 1 black mana is easier to get in a bad situation than 3 creatures above a Nether Shadow.
Unless I'm missing something, they both need 3 creatures above them?
Furthermore, the source of the trigger that exiles Worldgorger Dragon is Zilirian of the Claw. The activated ability of Zilirian's that finds Worldgorger Dragon sets up the trigger to exile the Dragon later in the turn as well.
Thank you, I thought this was how it worked, but the opposite ended up happening on MTGO so I was extremely confused.
, Search your library for a Dragon permanent card and put that card onto the battlefield. Then shuffle your library. That Dragon gains haste until end of turn. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
I search my library and find Worldgorger Dragon.
His ability goes on the stack:
When Worldgorger Dragon enters the battlefield, exile all other permanents you control.
All my permanents, sans the Worldgorger Dragon, are exiled. I move to combat, bash my opponent for seven, then move to my end step.
Zirilan end step part triggers:
Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.
What actually originates this trigger? Is it the Worldgorger himself? If the Worldgorger is the source of the effect then:
When Worldgorger Dragon leaves the battlefield, return the exiled cards to the battlefield under their owners' control.
Does he return himself with that secondary effect?
Yes these are correct. The only other thing to keep in mind is that the trigger will happen whenever the next end step occurs do you can't get around it by ending the turn before the end step.
Yes! As it would occur on "Next" end step, which includes my opponent's end step!
Of course, if they also had sundial of the infinite to help me get around it...
I want to just verify that I'm understanding the way Zirilan of the Claw works properly: Zirilan of the Claw

This ability will only trigger once at the beginning of the next end step (of either player), and only if the creature is still in play (having not been removed/returned from elsewhere) correct?
For example:
Scenario 1) My end of turn, Zirilian's End Step trigger goes on the stack (Say I have Vampiric Dragon, because he has sleeves). In response, I active my Sundial of the Infinite. The turn ends, and Zirilan's ability does not trigger again for Vampiric Dragon on next end of turn, because it has already triggered the first time.
Scenario 2) My end of turn, Zirilian's End Step trigger occurs (Say I have Zodiac Dragon, because I'm made of money in this hypothetical scenario). In addition, my Conjurer's Closet trigger occurs. I choose to place Zirilan's trigger on the stack, then Conjurer's Closet trigger on the stack targeting my Zodiac Dragon. My opponent tapped out to Galvanic Blast my Zodiac Rooster so he does not respond to the trigger. Zodiac Dragon is exiled from Conjurer's Closet trigger, then returned to the battlefield. Zirilan's trigger is countered because the original target is no longer on the battlefield.
So right after they play a spell of any type I can cast?
When they cast a spell, it goes on the stack.
If it's their turn, they can play something in response to their own spell, before it resolves. If they choose to not play something in response to their own spell, you get the choice of either playing a spell in response (so long as it's legal, ie an instant), using an ability in response, or passing priority and letting the spell resolve.
No, only when your opponents pass priority. The player whose turn it is has the first chance to act at each step/phase.
For example, your opponent starts their main phase. They have first priority. If they cast any spells or use any abilities, you have a chance to respond to those.
Then, when your opponent decides to pass priority, you may cast spells/use abilities before moving to the next phase. You still have a chance to act at each phase, just not first chance to act.
The player whose turn it is gets first priority. So in this case, he could either play giant growth, or pass (or do something else). Then if he passes, you can play something of your own, or pass. If both of you pass, the next combat phase occurs.
Also yes, you can target a creature that's already tapped with that ability.
See, he was originally in the deck. But I have 19 2cmc creatures. That means the 'vial sweet spot' is definitely two. If I want to keep standstills or push them harder, then having my flyer sliver also be on two makes more sense, no?
I saw a deck somewhat similar in the past, and since the new slivers came out I was thinking about trying to do this again. I did it for a bit on modo before 2014 release and really liked it.
It's hopeless I know, but I'd really love to see a Mirri, Urza or Serra walker

I'm understanding this correctly, aye?

4 Doubtless One
4 Edgewalker
3 Rotlung Reanimator
3 Suture Priest
3 Vile Deacon
3 Orim, Samite Healer
3 Oriss, Samite Guardian
2 Battletide Alchemist
4 Tainted Field
4 Godless Shrine
4 Isolated Chapel
5 Swamp
6 Plains
Spells:
3 Unmake
3 Read the Bones
1 Spirit Link
1 Vampiric Link
2 Story Circle
2 Holy Day
The idea here is to just play juicy themey white/black cards. Looking for kind of flavorful corrupt-justice sort of cards.
-2?
+1 Wrath of God
+1 Damnation
Any other suggestions for cards like that? Improvements while keeping it casual?
But is it?
See, he was originally in the deck. But I have 19 2cmc creatures. That means the 'vial sweet spot' is definitely two. If I want to keep standstills or push them harder, then having my flyer sliver also be on two makes more sense, no?
Here's my current list idea:
4 Brainstorm
4 Swords to Plowshares
2 Standstill
4 Æther Vial
2 Bonescythe Sliver
2 Winged Sliver
2 Essence Sliver
1 Brood Sliver
3 Crystalline Sliver
4 Predatory Sliver
4 Muscle Sliver
4 Phantasmal Image
4 Sinew Sliver
Possible ideas:
-1 Essence, Winged, Bonescythe, Crystalline Sliver; +4 Eladamri's Call. Gives us a way to pick what we need when we need it more.
Con obviously is that it's not great when we're under standstill
Could run Homing Sliver instead?
Blacksplash:
Duress
Thoughtseize
Maybe even Necrotic Sliver ?
Side board:
Meddling Mage since she's on 2 (vial sweet spot)
Harmonic Sliver as a one/two of.
Darkheart Sliver possibly to get around quick aggro?
I feel like it might need more spells/less creatures and be more of a control-lite than a standstill aggro deck.
Any thoughts?
