Another week, another 5 packs of awful BNG boosters. Last week I opened 6 packs from my FNM winnings, got absolute jank. This week, exactly the same.
Heroes' Podium
Oracle of Bones
Fated Infatuation
Champion of Stray Souls
Herald of Torment
This is dire. I won a box of BNG and there was nothing decent inside either. Winning FNM feels so hollow when the prize is just worthless paper I have no room for.
does your LGS offer store credit instead of packs? i usually just decline the packs and take the store credit at $2.50/pack
On my second main phrase, I cast Sire of Insanity. Holding priority, I declare the beginning of the end phrase. Trigger goes on stack. There is no opening for an instant Hero's downfall stopping the Sire's trigger
no. in order to move to the next step/phase, both the active then non-active player has to pass priority in succession.
if you cast sire , resolves then declare end step, this is understood as a shortcut. BUT your opponent still has the opportunity to rewind the gamestate and remove sire by saying "still in 2nd main, use X on sire;" or something along the lines, before his trigger goes on stack at the beginning of the end step.
i suggest cube. since OP is only playing with friends, cube is a great way to have fun without getting bored of your casual deck or getting easily hated out within your playgroup. cube will always promote deck building and card analysis.
my friends and i pitched in and made a full proxied holiday cube. sleeved and ready to go.
It baffles me how people are always complaining about the shuffle function on Cockatrice. Do people not realize that's it's basically 100% random, and FAR better than any human could shuffle a deck?
It also makes zero difference whether or not you shuffle your deck once or 100 times. So it's always funny to me when people press ctrl+S like ten times thinking it'll further randomize their deck.
to be fair one of the hardest thing for a program to do is being 100% random.
personally the deck seems very suicidal running herald of torment, pain seer and thoughtseize in a non-aggro shell, but makes up for it with 2 whips in the main.
you are correct. Pain Seer's inspired trigger does not draw as "draw" is not used in the wording. It simply just does exactly what the wording says. Spirit has no interaction with pain seer.
i've been testing roguedeckbuilder's Jund dredge list. imo is more explosive and has more consistent turn 5 wins. he top 8'd a PTQ with a similar list, but his new list is more refined to cover some bad matchups he noticed
i'm not sure how well the deck performs as it does seem kinda off without sufficient playtesting. Versus Control it was amazing.

i love the style of the art even tho the actual art is inappropriate.

the GB dreadge deck has seen success occasionally on MTGO and top 16 in GP Buenos-Aires i believe.
i built the jund dredge list i linked to on page 10.
seems like a good place to me.
i'm just not a big fan of standard pauper. its very bland. classic pauper is more fun.
