So quick rules question. Say I play Witchbane Orb and enchant goblin with Alpha Authority, and he is the only creature I have in play, does that effectively change his text to opposing player or creature an opposing player controls? In other words when you tap him, do you have to account for hexproof targets in the random probability?
Also the scavenge takes the power before or after the creature is exiled?
Ex: scavenge a Boneyard Wurm from a graveyard with 4 others creatures. Would you put 5 or 4 +1/+1 counters with scavenge?

I think some of you have the impression that Pillar is the answer to Voice in the sense that it would negate the token because the creatures is exiled.
Well, you would be wrong. Pillar of Flame kills the creature, and when it hits the GY it becomes exiled. Therefore Voice does leave a token behined considering it did die at some point.
I'm just pointing that out cause I keep seeing post like the one quoted and I think people are assuming Pillar is the answer to this card.
Die means that a creature goes to the graveyard from the batlefield.
A creature dies when:
it receive lethal Damage and is destroyed
is destroyed by a effect
is sacrificed
When you cast a Pillar of Flame on a creature it creates a replecement effect that replace the creature's "death" with it being EXILED

On topic, it seems to be one of the weaker Fuse cards, in that it doesn't do a great deal unless you have a creature out. I would say though that it's probably close to auto-include in EDH decks that can support it. My girlfriend runs a Karrthus build that would be all over both these effects.
To EDH rules gurus: Does the damage count towards General damage, if dealt by that creature? Or is General damage combat damage only?
The new Fuse card Flesh//Blood is just as good for the extra damage and actually in the colors of the Ancient.

Um, the fake Varolz was horribly broken. Concerning the real one, lowering the scavenge cost of creatures that already have scavenge and allowing you to scavenge all other creatures in your graveyard adds so much strength to the Golgari. He goes amazingly well with Corpsejack Menace, Jarad, Death's Presence, etc...
I can understand your frustration with Mirko Vosk and Teysa, but I have to disagree with your opinion of the G/B champion.

The fake Varolz was like a indestructible creature that gets bigger was not a big deal... just a wall that has alot of answers in all formats not just in standard but not a big deal
The official Varolz is like T4 scavenger 2 Death's Shadow or pick a lol troll on turn 2 and T4 discard 1 Death's Shadow and 1 Vexing Devil and scavenger for 21 Trample Damage
Im not saying that the atual Varolz is Broken neither the Fake was
But The Fake Was nothing but a Big Guy ... and The actual has a lot more chances to become broken in others formats
This card reminds me of a story of a kitchen table game that should of ended earlier, but I just didn't attack for some reason. The game included a combination of Braids, conjurer adept, Seizan, perverter of truth, Momir Vig, Endrik Sahr, Reality Strobe, Coat of Arms, Mycoloth some Coiling Oracles, and some loss prevention. Long story short, I ended the game by attacking on turn 10, in which case I was producing 167 saproling tokens a turn roughly. I attacked all out after my mycoloth got killed finally.
Well I digress, my point being, how would I handle GTP in a situation like this? Not saying that this incident should happen, but just what if?

I think that for justify a CMC 5 in a Legendary creature would be in this case (Mirko Vosk) to give hin a body Maybe 4/4 or 4/5 The ability is ok it remenber me of the original Ravinica Dimir's Strategy of Hit and milling ( the main Wcon being kill your opp with rogues creatures or eventually milling hin)
He could have been nice at a 4/5 and his abilities but they clearly wanted to * * * * Dimir this time for a 2/4 body with just flying and a conect ability?
also Melek is another card that they could have improved but a 2/4 for 6? at last he can be built around but they didn't put hin as a 4/4, 3/4 ,2/5 or 2/6 as it should have been

When 2/3 part of theros blocks come out it will be a $ 15-40 a play set
5X5 team in EDH ----> take 3 mins to resolve his ability
