I got to unload this bit thats been bothering me for a while, but I think this top 8 really shows it. The USA modern meta is stupid in comparison to the international one. Its seems like most america "Pros" really hate up on modern, thus always pick a deck they can run easier, or was told its the best deck. And they never practice.
But this top 8 shows what modern is. Its a meta you can take your favorite play style, learn your decks rules, tweak it, and win. Everyone in the top 8 talked about how they liked their deck, and really practiced with it. They Enjoyed their decks. Notice no US players made the top 8.
Just something worth noting. That these US "pros" can get so far with their skill as players, but the guys who know and trust their decks have the edge on top of all that. Its refreshing to see it.

Raymond_K_Hessel posted a message on [Primer] Living EndI have had that same thought. Of all of the gods and weapons that could go in this deck, Hammer and the Bow seem the most viable. I do like the haste of the Hammer, but in my land light versions I don't find myself with the extra lands very often to make into elementals. Bow has a plethora of abilities and they could all be useful in this environment. The counters could just close out a game, the gain life helps against anything aggro, the flier ping kills Vendillians, Pestermites, and Ornathopters/Blinkmoths/Inkmoths, and the tucking cards could help in any grindy match where you might need more Ends than are in your deck. However, its passive is nearly worthless. Whip is hard to justify since the life gain is unlikely to matter and the activation, though intriguing, is too expensive. Purphoros himself could be fun, makes resolving LE game on the spot for a lot of decks and we have plenty of symbols that he could also attack that turn. Erobos and Nylea seem unplayable. The pump from Nylea is expensive and probably irrelevant and we don't have a ton of green to turn her on. Erobos's passive is mostly irrelevant and we hurt ourselves with land a little too much to pay 2 life for a card.Posted in: Modern Archives - Proven
That's my 2 cents on that cycle in LE. -
