it's not broken, but after the initial 6 mana over 2 turns, it can rip through as much sac fodder as you want for free and leave a nice bonus on the last one. I know it is immediately going in my aristocrats deck. not busted, not something that is going to turn into a problem, but a very solid roleplayer and staple in certain kinds of decks

Yeeeaaaah, we're getting into the territory where the story kind of falls apart. I can buy some of the characters being here, but some are just very forced. Why is Rakdos here? Eriette? Satoru? Gisa and Geralf? Even Breeches and Malcolm are such random inclusions.

Kaervec only works until you realize that he probably wouldn't join such a "small time crime" team given his power and ambition before he was imprisoned. It's like putting Bolas here, or Baron Sengir. I do have to say I actually enjoy the idea that he uses archaic speech, but that's just a little gimmick.

Yeah, that doesn't add up. Ashiok is paying for the heist? What does they have that RAKDOS and KAERVEK would want?

This looks like "lets get rando bad guys in a western scenario..." Next city they're gonna find Emrakul using spurs on each of her tentacles, and the Raven Man as a corrupt deputy marshall...

And another thing: the vault they're gonna rob is the one thing older than the Omenpaths on the entire plane... does this means the plan is only 3 years old? I mean, where the hell all the cities and structures came from? They mention a city that is already in decadence for lack of money... IN THREE YEARS?

I don't know what the writers will go with, most of the time my headcanons and fanfiction end up being more interesting than the actual story (goes for a lot of us) but it was a thought I had when I first learned about planeswalkers back in 2010. Omenpaths are a thing now, but most people are still limited in the planes they can go to, right? Rakdos can't just go to any plane he wants. Maybe there is some resource, a metal, an element that is rare or non-existent on Ravnica, but Ashiok as a Planeswalker has access to a world where it is plentiful. A lot of people would be very interested in dark steel, or cosmium, or aether, or Halo, you know? and those are just examples to come up since the creation of the Gatewatch.

But you're definitely right about it not being gold or something traditional like that.

it's nice to see a trans character come up in a decent way, where it's just one part of what he has going on. too many franchises think that just being a trans character is enough, instead of being a good, interesting character who is also trans. Yuma should be very popular!

omfg.... this is so absurdly horrible I don't even know where to start.... hahah

it needs to hit to be able to draw a single card....
if somehow you hit someone and they kill it, you cannot cash in.

this thing is nowhere near to Bomat Courier and the courier was very hard to really profit over.

there's one ijmportant difference though, Menace instead of haste. this isn't going to reshape any formats, but it won't be hard to get a card or two off of it. Some EDH decks might want it, but if Standard has a RDW, that is where this will definitely have a home

Call me a grumpy old man, but I'm not a fan of this constant silly humour like "haha the ginger woman is now a knight and she's out for blood isn't that funny?". No.

I wouldn't call it constant. I would call it showing up on like 2 cards a set on average, and just coming off of a few sets of nonstop horror

Seriously though, a Redwall plane would be so dope. I loved those books.

I just read the 3 books about Martin many years ago. They were enjoyable and well written. I suppose I should read the others. I love tribal cards and this set would probably have less overall tribes but more tribal support for say beasts, cats, birds, etc. I wish they would just come out and make the announcements, the waiting gets old.

What waiting? The most recent spoilers ended like 3 days ago and apparently we have a lot more in the next 10 days, probably this week. There's no waiting, there's very rarely even a pause anymore. We get stuff about the next product before players are even able to buy the previous one

Why not? Under what government's law is that a problem?

People say stuff like this all the time and I've never seen someone actually explain it and I'm pretty sure that's because it's just not true. This seems especially evident every time someone goes "Aren't they acknowledging the secondary market by doing X?" and they usually are, but no one seems to care besides those people.

It's gambling laws. Companies that sell randomized products are walking a very fine line where they have to be legally ignorant of the fact monetary value differential in their product. So a game creator/marketing material may talk about how you can open a lot of "exciting" cards, but better not say "expensive". It's stupid/silly, but so many fine legal distinctions are.

You can find articles/videos analyzing the issues and how it applies to loot boxes, randomized collectible games (physical and digital), gacha etc. As so often, it is not only stupid, but also fascinating.

Exactly. You will see Maro lean heavily on 'desired', 'high demand', 'powerful' and such, those words do a lot of heavy lifting for him, but he and the others will never say 'expensive', they will never recognize publicly that those cards cost a different number of dollars at the LGS, because the moment they do, it becomes gambling under US law. It is gambling, we all know it's gambling, but their lawyers will deny it. It's the same basic reason they got rid of ante.

huh? If you told me to pick one card from the YEAR Ixalan came out to leave at mythic, it would be the 9 mana, 3 color behemoth. that is the definition of mythic for limited

Yes, but much more important they keep Loyal Retainers at mythic to preserve its secondary market value. The thing Wizards definitely doesn't keep track of!

Has anyone at Wizards actually claimed they don't? It would certainly be unwise for them to make claims about resale value, but as far as I know, just looking at sale prices would not be a problem at all.

They are not allowed to acknowledge the secondary market in any way, be at that point, they could not sell packs to minors
