With the speed of Modern decks right now, it's not as clear cut that Wurmcoil will be a staple other than being a mainstay in Tron.
that's what i was thinking, I just want to finish my tron deck a bit at a time. Grove and Karn I need to wait for reprints, but the WQurmcoils would be good to have. it's just that my other projects eat up all my funds, so every dollar I can save is a big deal
I admit, Burn and DElver are strong right now, but price is a much bigger factor for a lot of people. there are a lot of Burn/Delver decks in my meta right now, but if Jund, Junk, or any other big showy deck were even in the ballpark of not ludicrously expensive right now, we would all switch decks. I would love to play Jund, i really would. but do you know what i would like better? a cheap car or food for a long time, or rent. That is why the cheap decks see so much play, because you can finally be competitive with a deck and also eat hot meals.
eh, I dislike foils, they warp too easily and that makes them less fun for someone playing and not really collecting. Liliana and Karn are too expensive and really only good if you have 4, I would go with a few cheaper black planeswalkers. Sorin Markovhas already been mentioned and he is one of my favorites even though I don't play with mine much these days. He is big and splashy, the art is cool, and if he plays it, he will look so cool just smashing everything they try to do. it is the heaviest hitter that is affordable. you could get 2 of those, 2 of the less expensive Lilianas, and he could make the best deck his group is likely to have. I am 21 and that would leave me acting like a little kid even now
has anyone considered Izzet Charm? it is colors a lot of us are playing already, it can make a bad hand good, it increases our Delve count and in bad scenarios, it is a bad Shock. Im gonna see if i can find a few sitting around to try. also, I never thought about it before, but as long as we are splashing Blue, Goblin Electromancer could lead to a turn 2 win
Ok well as sugested we should have a format that is call true modern it is modern with no extreme ban list except for broken cards like skullclamp that just wreak the game
So you want a format with modern cards, and only ban the cards which break the format?
nope, we want a format very much like Modern, almost identical, but with banlist of 10 cards or less. Clamp, Depths, Jitte, maybe Depths, not a lot of others, maybe none
Check out that SCG Colombus top 16. Can't wait for the ban(s). Personally, I'm not even touching modern until then.
it doesn't look that bad to me. 6 decks in the Top 8, Burn did not use Cruise, plenty of Swiftspear, but no more than Goyf a few months ago. no Jund for a while is not a bad thing. the format is fast, but not out of control. unless I am missing something? I don't look at Open results too often
I wouldnt mind a Vault Skirge ban. anything to weaken Affinity in my meta, then I wouldn't have to adapt to it. Same for Goyf decks and Twin. but I have adjusted to them, just like TC, this card is not a problem. spirit of the labyrinth with Greaves SHUTS IT DOWN! I want things banned, you want things banned, could we maybe discuss cards that the meta has had a few months to adjust to instead of a card that we have like no data for. thanks
The current SCG is one of the bigger ones we have had since KTK. Maybe the biggest at 180 players. So it will be interesting to see the results of this one in a few hours.
Just wondering, does your current list of stupid ban ideas include Archive Trap (because it allows Mill to break the turn 4 rule according to Bocephus)?
yes and no to sarcasm, it would make my life easier but it will never happen, so it doesn't concern me either way. same goes for Leyline honestly. Never really thought about Caryatid, seems safe, but I do like Bolting Birds
I dont take Bocephus seriously, Mill amuses me, and I honestly could still say yes because if it became a real deck and GY's filled that fast, do you realize how much that would break Delve? i basically just want chaos, it is funny

Karn desperately needs a reprint. Tron is almost dead right now, but a mythic with a single printing, the price is still crazy high. Grove likewise is absurd. I expect that we will see one or the other in MM2, but would it be too much too hope to see both? I would love to see Grove at 10 and Karn 15-20, I almost think Wurmcoil reprint may be a sign that the deck will get some love.

a cycle of those would be cool, but just one might push it a bit.
most of the cards I want are on the stupid List. Nevinyrral's Disk could be fun
this, full art lands are something that every player loves
Why is Daybreak Coronet $30-$40? What other deck uses it except Bogles?[/quote]
I think it is just Bogles, but that deck is a big deal now and FS cards are not exactly easy to find in the first place. low supply, high demand
