    @Pummeler 100% agreed.

So, could we have a big discussion about Why the hell play White in Modern right now except than Rest In Peace/Path To Exile/Stony Silence and some other sideboard cards? Even Path To Exile is replaceable by a better in the early and worse in the late game tool black colour pie just received in Fatal Push. You can just replace White with Black and add this new card and call it a day, and your deck will be stronger in all aspects .
Instead, We spent so much time complaining about Splinter Twin, that if a White mage comes in here and watches all of the people complaining about Twin, he will be laughing for an hour. Instead, white mages a-la Craig Wescoe school did not complain all that much, despite them needing a HUGE BOOST to compete in an ever-pumping metagame when seeing their decks hitting rock bottom.

The time to unban Stoneforge Mystic is now(or will be in April, if Fatal Push proves itself as a Modern Powerhouse, and make no mistakes, it will. White hit the bottom and sucks right now, in my opinion, or again we will all see it sucking after February. A deck like White Weenies or Mono White Control or even GW Hatebears (or even a White based Control deck) is absolutely in the worst power level of a deck you can find in Modern, and literally it does not even compete in the metagame atm.
To add to this, when the spoilers season ends, I will change my vote in the Bans/Unbans Poll/Thread, because Fatal Push changed things in an extreme way I did not expect. Resulting in a
STRICT No bans or Ban Dredge ONLY
Unban Stoneforge Mystic and/or Preordain and/or Jace, The Mind Sculptor (I will think about Splinter Twin as well)

Become Immense should be OFF the table. Expect Zooicide to drop to developing competitive with a Become Immense ban and the new Fatal Push and Infect into the tier 2 region for good. UR Prowess will have strong headaches with the new card as well. And even if you consider this a good shift in the metagame(which is not, Tron could become the deck to beat and you will all be singing a different tune then), a possible Become Immense ban will make people cash out from Modern. Not sure we want this. We MUST wait to see if Fatal Push keeps pump decks in bay, and I am certain it will.

Sam Black states in his last article:
Sam Black: After Fatal Push, I don't think I am playing Death's Shadow again, and the choice will be between Lantern Control and something else I can not even predict right now, because the entire metagame is different(with the Fatal Push print)

I tend to agree with your posts but Stoneforge should NOT come back especially now. We do not know how the format will look or what Push will do to the format. As soon as i saw Push spoiled i thought, "Wow, thats incredible. I want to play that card. Oh wait. *****. This is real good. It hits almost everything. Even every threat in my Jund deck. Oh crap. It hits everything in my Jund deck." i can only imagine how many players looked at it and imagined their deck getting smacked around by that card. Maybe its powerful and maybe the format is better for it and maybe more interaction will become the norm, but adding Stoneforge AND Push at the same time seems crazy to me.

Imagine a BWx deck, Junk, Esper, or just Orzhov, with Stoneforge Mystic, Swords, Batterskull, Bitterblossom, hand disruption, Path, Push, Lingering Souls and a mean SB. Mmmmmmmm.

As of late, i havent been playing Jund due to the local metagame. This just makes me want to stay away from Jund until they get a new toy. I could sleeve Abzan but playing a slower deck with creatures doesnt FEEL like where i want to be going forward. Especially since Tron is going to be a great metagame choice. If i was on Tron right now i would be jumping for joy. UR Prowess, Infect, Suicide, Affinity, decks playing creatures are going to become rarer. Tron will eat up all the Push decks. But maybe we enter a crazy situation where it cycles back to small creature aggro. Crazy how a metagame works.

Push makes the decks it fits into better against the decks they were already slightly favored in and tips the scale. It makes their poor matchups better choices (Tron, Eldrazi, Lantern) because their predator's are suppressed by their favorite matchup. But maybe it will bring balance to the force.

Push WILL slow the format down. The fast decks will still exist but will either be a metachoice to Tron/Eldrazi/Lantern or just be fewer in number.

Has anyone mentioned UB Tezzeret got a great card? Because they can win from Thopter/Sword to beat Push AND play Push, which is noteworthy.

Awesome post! I have been looking for a way to say it that was not 'Goyf is irrelevant, Ravager is a chump now. Wurmcoil is the only concerning creature now. Bow to Tron'

I am looking forward to playing my Planar Bridge Tron for a bit in the new meta

Fatal Push is preordering right around $5, are people insane? I get it, the card is amazing, every black deck with clues in Standard or fetches in Modern/Legacy will want the playset. a year after it is out of print, it probably will hit that level, barring a reprint in one of the first two MM sets after it rotates, it will absolutely be the most expensive uncommon in Modern history, and before it is even up for a MM set it will hit PtE levels. all of that is fine and good. but while it is in print, that is lunacy. it's an uncommon, in a set with Masterpieces, and two mythics that are completely obscene and most EDH players will want them in foil or Masterpiece. so many of the uncommons are powerful, the rares will be in demand for Standard, and the EV of the box can't pass $100 for long. with the new print runs, it is difficult for rare lands to hold at $5 or more for any length of time. people need to chill, this set will put more Pushes in circulation than Paths are out there. we are talking Bolt numbers, across all printings. they will print the set to oblivion, I can see it holding at $2, maybe even 3 while in print, but certainly no more

I played against a Simic deck, counterspells, all manner of ramp and dorks, a mess of Fog effects, cantrips and Helix Pinnacle as the only wincon. it was all Modern legal, but it was like 100 cards. we played several times before I moved away, the only way he could win was beat you game 1 and hold you for the other 6 minutes of the match, it was hilarious.

I can't say I miss it because it has never really been present in any meaningful way, but I am certainly open to it. I love a good interactive deck and it would not bother me to see combo struggle for a while. I've been trying to build tempo control because that is more fun for me to use than pure control, but I am more than welcoming of ANY matchup that isn't just a goldfish or sprint

of the 37 cards you listed, only 13 are actual burn spells (in that they can burn players). of those 13, only two deal more damage than the mana you put into it (and only when madnessed in the case of fiery temper). Shock is a small step but a big one in the right direction for burn players

Oh, so it's only a burn spell if it can hit players? So by your logic, Lava Axe is a burn spell but Roast is not? Because by my definition, if it deals damage to anything, it's a burn spell. Whether it's a competitive burn spell is another matter.
Considering that the goal of the burn archetype is to kill your opponent with direct damage, yes.

I'm sorry, I usually side with the person in favor of the broader definition, but I have been a burn player literally since the first year of Modern, and yeah, a burn deck is trying to win through direct damage to the opponent. It can run other cards, but a spell is not burn if it can only hit creatures. I would be more open to calling Geth's Verdict burn to some extent because that loss of life can end the game through what is functionally direct damage

Sometimes Wizards gives up Planar Gate, sometimes i really hate them. I get that not all rares and mythics will be any good, or that most are for draft or something. even when it is MOST it's fine. but I love to play red, and given that red is usually starved for mana outside of EDH and some combo, it kills me that every freaking set, red loses rare AND mythic slots to these stupid x-cost spells, and dragons, and other huge effects that can NEVER be playable after rotation in outside of a very small number of decks. 5+ mana in a red deck might as well read 'casual or cheat'. I am fine with some, blue gets whales and sphinxes, green gets hydras, but seriously, Chandra appears to have been largely hype, which means that no red rare or mythic has made a splash in Modern since Theros block. seriously, in the GOOD MM, we gota joke goblin, a couple storm cards, an x spell, a dragon, a giant or two....and Blood Moon. literally one red rare or mythic that gets played in the format it was sold for without it being 110% certain that if the deck it runs in gets good, it's gone

I love this card, it is exactly what my UB brew wants, and it will be great for slowing down the hyper-aggro decks, and the entire format by quite a bit I would think. We just need something along these lines for the fastest combo decks to struggle with, then Modern will be a more interactive and for me more enjoyable format.

Guys, it will definitely break $20 a playset.......but not for several years.this set is going to be opened a ton, it has masterpieces that a ton of players will want. It already has multiple mythics that will see minimum heavy testing in Modern. It has rare lands that will see some post-rotation play. Look at the prices of even the good rares since BFZ, prices are not what they once were. It would be different if it were in AVR or a limited set, but for an in print uncommon, $3 has got to be the max, and not long term

Will be printed in AER, has just been confirmed like an hour ago. I know it's not a land but damn, tutor up Ugin, Karn, O-Stone a Fatty or whatever seems pretty dece

I am very excited for that one, more for EDH, but it will definitely be tested here. it could definitely put us in a better spot, MCL is turn 4 Emmy, but it is worth noting that it is not cast, so the extra turn does not trigger, still gives the opponent an uninterrupted turn to race us. time will tell, I will be picking up an EDH+playset for sure. I am just concerned and I hope it doesn't give Wizards an excuse to ban Karn or the Tron lands, you know they don't love the lands

WOW! I don't care for Masterpieces, I won't pay more than a dollar extra for the art I want, and foiling means nothing to me, but those two cards are the most exciting things for me since I started playing EDH a year ago. Once they hit Standard, I hope they are unplayable in that format, because I want one of each! I rarely say this, but we'll done Wizards, those design ideas are really cool! Kaladesh may have the rarity/cmc to power issues that bother me, but I think it's already my favorite block since RTR, with most of a set to go Smile

No matter the format, we are putting pieces of paper on a table, maybe a few dice. I don't care how good any format or matchup it, if you call that 'enthralling' , I respectfully point you towards any sport, at all. I love this game, and I love Modern, but card games are at best 'interesting' to watch on stream unless you have a vested interest in the match (gambling). And that is what it should be. Magic is unique and engaging to play, to build. Modern has a deep enough card pool to beat almost anything if you build for it. my meta is combo heavy.I have a UB tempo/control deck, counters and cantrips and discard. it hoses most combo and is a blast to play. I can side in grave hate all day, but it loses so hard to Affinity and a couple other decks. but it means that I can build a brew, an out of nowhere deck, that is actually in my mind pretty much a proper control deck, and I can win with it. that is exciting for me, I love that I can do that in Modern. I know pro's love a solved format, I know Spikes want a clear best deck that just relies on skill, and that's fine. I wish them the best in trying to solve a format or find that deck, but I love experimenting.

tl;dr-I love Modern, where it is at and what it can do. I want a few unbans, I would love to see the format slow down through unbans or new printings, but I don't want to see more bans unless something gets truly, Cawblade Standard out of hand, because that would take away what I feel makes this format great from someone else

I am probably crazy, but if it drops to $5 or below, I like it for a bit of Tron testing. I have had many games since I dropped my Eldrazi package where I have Karn with a ton of counters but I don't want to restart the game, Wurmcoil swinging but being chumped by tokens, the game is obviously mine, but my playgroup does not like to concede, they play it out. A beefy flyer that is a pain to remove and is fueled by Karn may be just the thing to close out those games. I know it's probably silly, but if it works it would be neat. Smile

I don't want to be rid of mythics, or get rid of NWO entirely right now. I started in 2011, so when Mythics were still new and Jace wasn't used to death. Regardless of my thoughts on NWO or Mythics, getting rid of either in one go would be too much to expect right now. I would however like to see a change in how both are done. I feel that every planeswalker and legendary should be mythics, but only them. I don't have an issue with the complicated cards being higher rarity, but the powerful cards being ALMOST exclusively at rare and mythic does bother me. When I started, Doom Blade and Bolt were both in Standard, at common. They are strong cards, but more about utility. Neither is flashy or complicated in the least. This age of 'removal starts at 3cmc uncommons and is mostly unplayable even in Peasant' is driving me crazy. I just wish we could return to the dynamics of 2011-12. Wizards has gotten so timid about Standard, and I don't want to hear 'limited balance in draft' ever again. I don't draft often, but I had more fun with tritriple m12 than any master set

This makes me sad. I like Tezz as a character, but in Modern, UB really doesn't have much in the way of being the artifacts color pair, I think that is just Tezz. I get why for story, but of the 3 UB planeswalkers, two are ONLY usable in an artifact deck. UB has all of the tempo/control tools in two colors, why can't we have a planeswalker to reflect that?

Holy smokes would I love a tempo U/B Planeswalker. Tapping down things, discard, Faerie or Zombie token....one can dream

ikr? my only problem, to be tempo, I want it to be 1UB....and most of my ideas of 'good' in card creation tend to be called something along the lines of 'broken in half'. I like efficiency, power and versatility, sue me, Wizards printed DRS, my (1UB 3 loyalty, +1-each player gets a 1/1 UB flying Fairie token minus 2-target opponent discards a card at random. minus 6- you get an emblem with 'instants and sorceries in your graveyard get flashback equal to the casting cost, then exile) isn't so busted in comparison
