i think that, at least, an unban is guaranteed post pro tour, which is awesome, and it seems clear to me that jace, the elf or stoneforge will enter the format

yeah, but i think that chalice is still more unfun than that sequence of bgx, cause what bg cannot do is prevent your topdecks, bg cannot stop you from topdecking threats/answers after all the discard spells, but chalice stops cold any future card from that CMC to resolve for the rest of the game

i think that modern bans were a little different than other format bans (not all of them of course), i mean, you can say that, for example (let me imagine a little) mind's desire is a clear candidate for a ban, but u cannot say the same for splinter twin

the strategy that works for me is boarding in rip, cage, verdict, dispel and elspelth. i think that sometimes the elf would survive and you'll lose, but u need to reduce all their resources and try to make them play your game

i dont know if death and taxes would play stoneforge, i mean, your main game plan is about resource denial, and one of the cornerstones of the decdk is leonin arbiter which is a nonbo with stoneforge, and if you choose to replace the arbiter, D&T is just a white weenie deck that looses to everything

e tron is a really unfun deck to play against, but well, i can understand that i wont be happy everytime that i play magic (even more playing modern), but i do think that chalice is just too eficient in this deck, i mean, it's a catch all answer that can be autowin in A LOT of matches (and can be game changer in others), without even affect the e tron player. Banning temple probably kills the deck, but banning chalice seems like a better answer to the strategy

id like to test Search for Azcanta as a sideboard card for storm on grindy matchups. Impulse on a land seems awesome

yeah, im having that issue. i mean when boarding, my deck becomes a lot more "colored" with the creature bombs and that, trying to play the long game, and i feel like the only good stirrings in post board games are the ones that found tolaria west XD
i dont like to cut the scouts, but i recognize them as a really weak card. i just like to have them to ramp or as a removal target instead of titans. Id try to cut them instead of stirrings. Maybe i misjudged their value

edit to thank for the fast response Grin

of course, ill try zenith in every green deck too, but sinergy decks like elves seems to have better options than zenith. titanshift maybe could improve, but i dont know if the deck would be better with the card (i didnt tested it, im just theorycrafting)

i know, but does really hurt diversity? i mean something like vizier company wont run zenith (or at least the playset), elves wont run the full 4, company and chord are just better on those shells
i agree that something like knightfall would play the card, but it isnt bad per se

I think green zenith like wild nacatl. In theory nacatl was hurting diversity, and well... we know how it was in reality

playing this deck again since the summer bloom banning, and i can remember again why i love it so much. it's like a puzzle, where every decision matters a lot

Regarding sideboarding, im always taking out amulets and stirrings (or relics if they dont use graveyard) on interactive matchups. It is right?, for example, against bg or uw, i think that the ramp plan seems better than something like trying to turn 3 titan them with amulets. Taking out the amulets left me with weaker stirrings, so i like to cut them too. Id like the opinion of more experienced players. thank you Grin

regards tron, eldrazi and shift... why no wasteland?
it is true that modern has hosers for a lot of different strategies, but it seems that good land hate is lacking, but well, im not wizards, so maybe im wrong

i was thinking that green sun's zenith seems ok in modern, i mean, it power level seems fine. chord of calling and company are better cards in the current strategies, and i dont see these decks cutting cards for this, cause you cant dilute your deck with so many non creature spells, and zenith could open new decks, something like legacy maverick could be awesome

they dont need to move away from anti aggro cards, cause midrange and control cant beat them anyway

edit to elaborate a little more: the decks that can beat big mana decks are getting destroyed by death shadow, and the decks that can beat death's shadow have bad matchup against big mana decks, so i think that the meta is warped by these 2 strategies

maybe i didnt express myself right. Of ocurse, there are answers (maybe not for eldratron) but the thing is that they seem not good enough to keep them in check. If you look at the meta at the moment, the decks are trying to race them more than hate them, and thats not really cool, cause these big mana decks can adjust to stop the race and win on the "late game" (for example the days when scapeshift played a lot of anger of the gods maindeck to stop dredge enough to combo them out)

i dont agree. i was at gp sao paolo, and all i saw was big mana decks vs decks trying to race with a combo finish or disruption (grixis shadow). Maybe im biased and i just thought that big mana decks were warping the meta at the gp, but The thing with these big mana decks is that there is no real answer to them
