I've been toying with this deck and there's a engine with Gravecrawler, Bridge From Below, and Cryptolith Rite

Tap Gravecrawler for black, sacrifice it through something like Viscera Seer, it creates a zombie, bring it back from the black you have floating to summon it again. Now there has to be a way to give creatures all haste to then have a continual supply of zombie tokens through a gravecrawler recursion. Or blast them away with blasting station and have a way to sacrifice zombies and hit them over and over with each zombie recurred. Of course the zombies allow for blocking.

The combo is there, but I think the real interaction is the legacy style zombardment recursion of sacrificing gravecrawler, making more zombies, sacrificing gravecrawler, getting more zombies, and making more zombies then tossing them into the grinder to ping the guy for a good 4-6 damage then out of nowhere deal 10 damage and kill them.

Lion's Eye Diamonds have increased significantly in price over the last week or so. I'm thinking it may be due to an influx of players getting into Legacy after the Twin ban in Modern and wanting to play the premier combo deck of the format?

TES has been doing good. This card was prime for a rise since there is no reprint on this card.

That is the problem with the Burning wish build because you don't use trick bind anymore.

Use time of need instead of living wish. Use spiraling embers instead of lab. If you draw your hand just shoot them with burning wish

Take out obliterate. Its win more. If you have omni In play why are you playing around with the board state. Use intuition over personal tutor. If he is hindering you with Madge on wish. Use intuition and win.

There's a Meekstone and Blind Obedience or Winter Orb weenie deck that has been around. It's a strange hatebear deck that soft locks the opponent while beating face in with Thalia, Revoker, and some other 2 drop white weenies.

    no need for it

The reasons to use clique is for miracles and combo

Merfolk has enough counters and has chalice to fend off those decks and put a fast clock.

  • posted a message on Rules Change Trample
Back when Urza's Saga came out they revised the rules for Trample to essentially what we know today. The one caveat being back then you could ignore any blocking creature that couldn't be dealt damage because of damage prevention effects like Gaseous Form or creatures like Fog Bank. Additionally back then a blocking creature that had protection from the trampling attacker's color(s) absorbed all the damage where today you only have to assign what would be leathal damage even though it will be prevented.

I guess i was playing the trample rule wrong with multiple creatures blocking

With Trample, you have to deal lethal damage to each blocking creature before any additional damage is assigned to the player/planeswalker.
    If a 5/5 with Trample is blocked by a 4/4 and a 1/1, no trample damage is assigned because 4 + 1 = 5 and 5 - 5 = 0
If a 5/5 Polukranos, World Eater with Trample given to it by Nylea, God of the Hunt is blocked by a pair of 2/2 Soldier tokens generated by the opponent's Elspeth, Sun's Champion, 1 point of trample damage is assigned to the player/Elspeth because
    2 + 2 = 4 and 5 - 4 = 1
Therefore, there is a combo with Trample and Deathtouch. As lethal damage has to be applied to each blocking creature before Trample damage goes over, and Deathtouch states that any amount of damage dealt to opposing creatures destroys said creatures, you can assign just 1 point of damage per blocking creature and allow the rest to go over because Trample's lethal damage clause has been satisfied.
    For example,
    If a 5/5 with Deathtouch and Trample is blocked by a 4/4 and a 1/1, remember, without Deathtouch no damage would go over, because 4 + 1 = 5 and 5 - 5 = 0, 3 Trample damage is assigned because
    1 + 1 = 2 and 5 - 2 = 3.
    Make sense?

Not questioning how this rule applies...I'm talking about the rule change or whether this was the rule since the beginning.

If they block with both the 1/1 and the 4/4, you have to assign 1 to the 1/1 and 4 to the 4/4 before you can trample over. It has been this way as long as I've been playing (Since around Lorwyn/Shards of Alara).

If they have both but block with just the 1/1, you don't/can't damage the 4/4 at all.

I don't remember this rule being in revised. Was this changed or was I playing it wrong

    scenario:

I have a 5/5 trample. The other guy has a 1/1 and a 4/4. I always thought you can just trample over the 1/1 when blocking and not assign any damage to the 4/4.

When did this rule take place. I've been doing the old rule since revised....did i play this wrong all those years.
