When you cast Nourishing Shoal with Lich, you're almost definitely casting another shoal or a Soul Spike. It doesn't win like Time Vault + Voltaic Key doesn't win. You get to see probably your entire deck.
I've been collecting cards for cube a lot recently and thought why not try combining cube and EDH in a draft or sealed to see how it goes. If anyone has ideas regarding the number cards required for a deck, the number of packs to use for sealed and draft, or regarding rules like life total, commander damage, or how commanders should be selected, or if commander's color identities should be enforced and to what extent, or ideas about which commanders would be good for either format your ideas would be useful.
Hi, the deck I'm trying to add is this Deadbridge Combo
The point of it is to use Deadbridge Chant to combo the same fog or hero's downfall or reanimate an ashen rider or armada wurm to overwhelm your opponents with card advantage.
An idea I came up with a while ago, wanted hear any ideas about it's viability and or any suggestions on how to improve it. The whole idea is to use elvish mystic to accelerate getting it out, while having fog and hero's downfall to protect yourself up until you can cast it as the first step. The second step is to cast deadbridge chant and thin out your graveyard until you have a sacrifice outlet and ashen rider or fog or hero's downfall. With any of those you can almost entirely prevent your opponent from being able to do anything. The blue land is for sideboard spells, Negate for countering grave hate or win conditions, Abrupt Decay for aggro, Naturalize for resolved Rest in Peace, Undercity Informer for a disproportionate amount of Elixir of Immortality or Psychic Spiral decks locally.
Here's the Deck list.
4 Deadbridge Chant
4 Elvish Mystic
4 Deathrite Shaman
4 Fog
3 Hero's Downfall
4 Scourge of Skola Vale
3 Ashen Rider
2 Armada Wurm

I could see maybe a wolf run blue with her, using a good amount of ramp, bant midrange or r/u/g midrange using her, don't see a future in black for her.
Maybe for bant with farseek, arbor elf, and avacyn's pilgrim for ramp, geist for early beats, and the thragtusk, master biomancer, sphinx's revalation, and maybe garruk for the midrange part of it.
I feel like you're trying too hard to be a Control deck (you have way too many counters)
Too hard to be a control deck, too many counters. First of all control is best deck. Second is that in a deck with guttersnipe, you can win with it, counterspells, and maybe bounce effects. Have you ever played with guttersnipe?
Since this is legacy, I find it appropriate to post budget decks that are 400 dollars or less, and tend to make sure I don't include anything too expensive, like goyf, or JTMS for the purpose of availability, or any chased cards or staples, like vendilion clique, FOW, or [CARD=Sensei's divining top[/CARD]. My mana bases for any future decks I post will exclude fetches or original dual lands, to explain my choices.
The deck I am posting today is a zur control deck, that is not too competitive, but can duke it out against quite a few decks. The objective is to first, disrupt whatever the opponent is doing, whether it be goblins to wrath affects, delvers and stoneforge mystics to spot removal. Don't be afraid to throw a daze or something in to protect better spells. After you get to a comfortable board position, play a zur, and make sure he sticks, being sure to give him hexproof, and maybe add in a zuran orb. After your zur is out, brainstorm, dig, and tutor your way into an armageddon, which if you have anywhere from a decent to good board state should seal the deal. Both daze and zuran orb see good use, as daze can put you ahead in lands, and zuran orb can be used to sac tapped lands, and use the floating mana to play geddon. Afterwards should be simple, use dark tutelage for a psuedo, fetchable by zur, dark confidant, pernicious deed for multiples of cards or entreat the angels. Vindicate, o-ring, and detention sphere for cleanup. For ending the game quicker edge of the divinity is great, as is daybreak coronet
This is my list splashing in green for deathrite shaman and pernicious deed, as red doesn't add nearly as much. If you don't have a budget or a higher one, adding jmts, more vindicates, and adding better lands are good ideas, as well as disruption like vendilion clique, and thoughtseize, and for counterspells, force of will is a major upgrade.
I'm not sure if some shocklands should be added to daze things easier, and this deck is untested so sideboarding is up anyone. My opinions are adding reanimator hate, burn hate, and more board wipes vs. aggro
This is a sample doran list, and seems like for a kinda good stuff deck, jund is better.
I have not tested it at all some it might be terrible, or it might be great, the reason I excluded mana base is I'm bad at making them:(
First I'd like to talk about control with Nefarious Lich, about the best card with it is Confessor, because it enables combos with a lot combos. The best way to draw cards is through gaining life. Some of the best ways to gain life, and then draw cards is through Faith's Fetters, Recumbent Bliss, and Peace of Mind. Using those is a great way to preserve your life before getting Nefarious Lich and after playing it to keep your hand full to deal with any threats. A good combo is Ill-Gotten Gains and Confessor. It makes all other players have no more than three cards and you drawing cards and return three cards. A way I'd play it would be this:
4 Nefarious Lich
4 Confessor
4 Peace of Mind
3 Lapse of Certainty
4 Rebuff the Wicked
2 Faith's Fetters
3 Big Game Hunter
2 Sorin's Vengeance
4 Oblivion Ring
3 Hero's Downfall
2 Gray Merchant of Asphodel
3 Ill-Gotten Gains
4 Tainted Field
3 Isolated Chapel
9 Swamp
6 Plains
The second deck style I'd like to talk about combo. To avoid going green and making the deck a three color split, Oblivion Crown on any creature, or making ridiculous amounts of zombies with Zombie Infestationand both cards require Confessor and Nefarious Lich to function. How I'd play this is with a bit of blue so you won't always lose to a kill spell of board wipe using Laboratory Maniac.
A deck list I'd make would be.
4 Nefarious Lich
4 Confessor
4 Oblivion Crown
4 Dread Return
2 Laboratory Maniac
3 Mother of Runes
4 Rebuff the Wicked
3 Big Game Hunter
3 Peace of Mind
4 Zombie Infestation
2 Mana Tithe
4 Tainted Field
3 Isolated Chapel
10 Swamp
6 Plains

In my opinion red could help this deck a lot, it adds for removal dreadbore, searing spear, pillar of flame, and bonfire of the damned. For searching effects you could try faithless looting, tibalt, the fiend blooded, and reforge the soul. For putting creatures into the graveyard by using just creatures you get falkenreath aristocrat, vexing devil, and the beast that is ghor-clan rampager. The goodstuffedness of Olivia voldaren, huntmaster of the fells, and thundermaw hellkite.
