Is it just me or does Vorel a bit lost in the background? The image seems to lack contrast.
Yeah, his design is really drab and the artist failed to differentiate him from his surroundings. He honestly looks more Dimir than Simic because he looks like he's disappearing into his surroundings.
I'm kind of bummed because my 2 favorite Guilds, Simic and Boros, have the most boring looking champions(IMO).
I honestly would love that lineup for the 'walkers in M14.
Nissa 2.0 and M14 green focusing on tribal elves.
Elspeth 3.0 or even just 2.0. I love Elspeth 2.0.
Liliana 4.0 that blends 1.0 with 3.0.
Chandra 4.0 that dishes out more damage with the + ability.
And Tamiyo 2.0 that let's you retrieve spells and maybe keeps your opponents from casting creature spells for a turn.
And I don't just like this lineup because it's all girls, these just happen to be my favorite 'walkers of the primary colors.
I could see Ravnica/Return to Ravnica working as a TV series. Intrigue, warring factions, deception, espionage, murder, monsters and maniacs make for great television.
Am I the only person who doesn't have a really strong opinion about which style of border is better?
Nope. I like the old cards just fine, but they look outdated now and the only appeal for me is nostalgia, to which I'm no slave like some people*. The new borders are cleaner and look nicer to the uninitiated.
*my brother still *****es and moans about the modern borders when I get him to play
The point isn't what's "weird." The point is what's relatable in the fantasy repertoire while still triggering some dopamine from newness. Kithkin are essentially hobbits; Vedalken are essentially blue aliens; Moggs are essentially goblins/orcs, etc. WotC staff have publicly stated that in their view only a fraction of potential American MTG players have enough exposure to the Japanese fantasy/mythology repertoire to get the right balance.
What fraction of American MtG players had exposure to blue alien sorcerers?

Every creature in the Theros block is legendary! Semi-confirmed.

Elspeth, Nissa, Chandra, Liliana and Tamiyo for M14! DO it, WotC!
Or they could make a Nissa 2.0 remain tribal and make elves green's focus in M14. I really don't see the point of a non-tribal Nissa.
Full art lands ALWAYS work for me. Zendikar's lands, especially the forests, blew me away.
Yawgmoth is dead. When you die your spark goes too. And I would hate if they started bringing back dead characters.
Why do the new foils always start to curl like that?
Nope. I like the old cards just fine, but they look outdated now and the only appeal for me is nostalgia, to which I'm no slave like some people*. The new borders are cleaner and look nicer to the uninitiated.
