for me im alright with just telling people the matchup is even and that knowledge of the matchup and good decision making will ultimately be the deciding factor.

what i try to get across to those new to the deck, or those inquiring about its positioning in the meta is that our matchup against grindy midrange decks has never been a slam dunk, not now or even before the unbans. even at the 60-40 you are still basically losing half the time given the players on each side of the table are of equal skill.

this ends up coming as a surprise to people because we are the "control" deck, and therefore should beat up on midrange. ive always said that jeskai is probably the weakest of the 3-color control variants at grinding. our strength lies in dealing with creature aggression, which grixis and esper typically have a little harder time with.

but i agree, we dont really get anywhere just discussing what we think is true, and are better served discussion options such as card choices, sideboard strategies, and general tips in the matchup.

as a side note if you guys wanna see an absolute beating - check out the Jim Davis (jeskai) vs. Brennan Decandio (4c pyro) match from the SCG Dallas coverage. definitely wince-worthy.

where can I watch the game?

ah sorry i meant Ben Nikolich on jeskai, not Jim Davis

I feel not playing secure the wastes is losing a win condition, a problem this deck suffers a lot.

Hi guys, I would like to know your opinion in this. Currently I own full affinity and full GDS (I used to play twin so i have all the UR base). But with the recent unbannings I am considering switching all my UR stuff into jund stuff. Is it worth it or should I invest towards UW stuff (I am only missing JAce, colonnade, flooded strand). I am looking forward to play competitive and i see Jund having better results than UWR/UW/GDS.

Hello guys, I would like to receive an opinion. I currently own full (includes sb, fetch, etc) afinity, burn and grixis delver; mostly aggro and tempo decks. SO I was thinking on trading my decks so I at least have a midrange, aggro and tron. Should I trade affinity or burn for tron pieces? take in consideraton that burn shares fetch with grixis. My local meta is full of jeskai nahiri, grixis delver, scapeshift, titan.

this is really a personal question, what do you like more burn or affinity?
i sell affinity a while ago (and have burn!) but that is me, meta (even local meta) could change a lot a year from now, so dont take this into consideration.

I like to play affinity, but the meta is not friendly. I am concerned on a goblin guide reprint on MM17, I feel affinity is safe investment wise.

Nahiri the harbringer price is driven just by modern or standard as well? I have the UR shell but i dont want to spend to much, if I can save some money I can wait for nahiri to rotate from t2.

How much I could expect it to drop if they are reprinted BFZ? around 15 like the allied fetchs of KTK?

I bought into splinter twin before scapecaster sky rocketed. I am only missing a scalding tarn playset, which i got an offer for 200$ but not sure if it is worth investing that much right now?
